If she doesn’t like it then she needs to build a fence for privacy, the land owner should be able to do whatever he wants on his property! She sounds like a problem causer who needs to tend to her own business! 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻

They developing around me five homes per acre subdivisions 3000 acres 30,000 homes. They moving in by groves down here Northwest Florida and it's sad too. Watching all these big farm areas just turned into subdivision woods I play in or or played in or gone.

Agree with your position. I moved here (Brunswick County, NC) from somewhere else, and you'll never hear me complain about growth or the cutting of trees. What many people fail to realize, a significant portion of the land in the Coastal North and South Carolina region, that are now developments. The land was once tree farms owned by International Paper, used for timber and wood pulp production. IP still has significant land holdings in the region.
Transplants move here and complain that "heritage pines and forests" are being destroyed. When the trees being cut down are simply stands of planted pines, junk trees, vines, and overgrowth from decades of neglect. A bunch of old biddies that have never held a saw, rake, or shovel in their hand, and don't know the first thing about forest management.

In the UK we call them NIMBY 's -- Not In My Back Yard. Always the first to say infrastructure need improving in their area, that the mobile signal is weak etc and are the first to complain and block development plans, then always complain about how much things cost to build! Conveniently forgetting the fact their objections cost tens or hundreds of thousands in legal fees and months/years of delays.

If you don't want a property to be developed, buy it yourself and don't develop it. Otherwise, it is not your decision to make.

Love your channel... Very calming for me. I totally agree with you on the hypocrisy people exhibit over development. I'm a land surveyor with 29 years in the bush and I can't count the number of times people will come up and said the same thing" oh it's a shame that they tore down the woods ",well I told this one lady yeah that's what the people said when they built your house and she looked at me like I was insane. Keep being real my friend.

At least two decades ago there was an article in a local Washington DC magazine about ‘city folk’ moving 60 miles west for the tranquility of the open countryside.. In the majority of cases, it didn’t take long for them to realize there was nothing out there, & nothing for their kids to do.. Real Estate agents loved it, because they could resell the same property every few years.. 🤪

NIMBY is everywhere and some of it borders on the comical, like the folks who own $20 mil condos and townhouses along the Brooklyn Heights Promenade who are faced with their "backyards" over the BQE literally collapsing any day now but who fight every practical and logical plan to fix this crumbling tri-level stack of highway. Never mind what such a collapse could do to their own foundations.

It’s like people that buy a new house built next to an airport that’s been there for 60 years then complain about the jet engine noise. You can’t stop progress, especially when the government is going to make more tax money from 50 homes or apartments than the empty land did.

I think the issue is that they want to live in a development where it is not overpopulated, and they have a bit of privacy from their neighbors. My mother lives in a Florida development where it was supposed to be 150 units and turned out to become 350 units and a lot of them are built like a duplex having 2 units connected and she was not happy.

If she's upset at the development happening in Pawleys Island, she should consider herself lucky that it took this long for that lot to be snapped up and developed. If the Lachicotte family decides to sell the land on the other side of the Hammock Shops, the pace of development will only intensify on that side of the creek.
FYI, if she's looking for peace and isolation and wants to stay near the coast, I understand there's a lot of land available in Andrews at a pretty cheap price...

More house and developments equals more taxes but eventually higher taxes because of infrastructure.I can see both sides of the argument but if those that want responsible development need to attend their community board meetings so they know what’s coming.I used to live in a nice borough of NYC but developers and politicians are in bed together. They buy up huge old houses only to demolish them and build ghetto developments with thousands of homes that the old infrastructure can’t handle. Now you have big corporations like Blackrock buying up entire neighborhoods so they’re the landlords. Its becoming a welfare state in every state no matter where people move.I know so many people who left NYC to go to the Carolinas but now are complaining of traffic and cost of living there now also.

This is so locked in stone it has an acronym in the development world. It is HBU (higher better use) . Basically it really just refers to monkey see monkey do cookie cutter projects that any tool can build if they ha e the finances and not much else ... it doesn't take any serious brains or savvy which is why it is so popular... strip malls and cookie cutter housing developments .
Meanwhile ... land that was actually already being used for it's highest best use gets converted to another gar🚮age development

I like the people that move out into the country by farm land then complain about the smell of the farms and tractors on the road. I’ve ya wanna live out here do smell checks, come out late at night and listen closely too. Smell travels, hangs around in the hot humid temps and sounds in the country at night travels as well. Silly me didn’t know there was a car race track miles from me. Heard it the first weekend and thought…oh this sucks. Now I actually enjoy the rumbling sound…I could do without the fireworks after the race but that’s because the animals get scared and will never get use to it. It doesn’t last too long so there is always good to find. Be nice and friendly but don’t make good friends with your neighbors. It’s easier in the long run.
