omg now i know how people have been getting so high tones. how stupid of me to not know it was actually a pedal board. im gonna buy one. thanks so much for the vid echelecopao
thanks! cant remember exactly the settings dude. it was something like this: tone=mild, distortion=rat, at like 30% drive, half sustain, a bit of flanger, hall reverb 100%, like 30% delay feedback (should have used more) and pedal in +1 octave mode
bravo bravo got to try to learn this exquisite everything ty so much -ive never thought about the whammy pedal so much before till now and as someone who prides themself on doing floyd covers i think ive found a new doorway ty so much bravo bravo 13 years too late sorry man
@rahk0505 Also, if you're wondering about octave settings, make your pedal switch between 0 and +1 octave only. It's not necessary to setup for +2 octaves. The only note that I play higher than +1 is what you hear at 0:57, but for that I'm just hitting a second harmonic.
Awesome cover, one of the best on here! I have a boss ME-70 and my octave pedal sounds awful, goes all distorted where yours stays clean. How do you do that?
exellant work on that,,i feel you captured this sweet tune nicely,,i think i need to get one of those boss me-50 pedal boards,,loving that sound..ive just put the backing track to this in my vids,,should anyone need to use it
@asgardthor123 as rahk050 says, the hard part are the bends, and being very clean when playing in +1 octave, otherwise the effect can sound really crappy. I'd say Gilmour solos in general are not that hard, since there is no shredding involved (and I suck at it). But what you need for sure is a lot more feeling and a good ear to hit the right notes when you do the bends
Very good - must have taken a while to learn? I jjust like doing my own thing over the floyd backing tracks, but I should try and nail down the signature bits. I have just posted a version of marooned and I'd appreciate your comments, ie from someone who can play well. I use Gr10 and mixer plus cathedral reverb ( if you like that floyd echo sound get one of these for your ME - it sound fantastic and steps all over the BOSS reverb.
awe how did you set this up for this???? iam getting the boss me50 going to run my line6 spider iii 15w using fender strat oh and iam only just starting to play help i wana hit em notes wow
nice work mate...How do you get the sound quality so good? i've just added my version of this to you tube but the sound quality is poor as its just the internal mic on my mac picking up the speakers and my amp.
hey dude are there any single pedals at a cheaper that can do that tone you just showed us in the video. like for example i dont want it to be a foot switch type of pedal. i want it to be the one where you put your fot down and the more you put it down. the higher the tone octave goes up just like in this video. please reply and help me out. thanks.
Nice pedal I have a digitech rp-200 and the octave effect is shit. Where did you get the backing track for this song ? Or did you do it yourself with your keyboard ? Anyway you could send it to me ? Thanks and good job
Don't use too much distortion. Also, make sure you're hitting only one string (mute the others) when playing in the high octave. It's pretty sensitive. More than one string vibrating ruins the sound when using that effect.
Wooooow The best cover of marooned i have seen on RUclips! Great playing and also great managing of your pedal!! :D
Well done, you are the best marooned improviser.
My fave pink floyd tune. Excellent cover. x
Awesome job man! 5 stars!!!
Beautifully done.
I liked this a lot. You get a great sound from the Me-50. There are points where I can't tell you and the album apart. Well Done. 5 Stars.
incredible tone man. superb job! love the sound of the +1 octave on the Boss ME50. next to the whammy it's pretty accurate and has it's own sound
amazing, simply amazing
great cover dude. i didn't know one could make this song sound good without a slide
Great job! I really like the tone and playing!
Great job man. I also have the ME-50 - great pedal. Gonna start learning this one too. Great job on it!
its very beautiful your cover, i love it congrats

Excellent cover and your sound is fantastic
Thanks bro. I added the pedal settings to the video info
Wow. That octave pedal REALLY makes a difference! A couple minor wrong notes, but still a very very good interpretation! Great job!
thanks! cant remember exactly the settings dude.
it was something like this: tone=mild, distortion=rat, at like 30% drive, half sustain, a bit of flanger, hall reverb 100%, like 30% delay feedback (should have used more) and pedal in +1 octave mode

@IsaacBBBB I don't think Gilmour uses a slide to play this song. The high octave is done with a wammy pedal
Nicest ever heard so far
Edoardo Scordo Marooned and HERES Marooned
esta exelente el cover te felicito
You’re the only person on RUclips apart from David Gilmore himself that I’ve seen to get close to the track good job 🎸👍
Thanks, I'll give it a try!

NICE GUITAR SOLO, GREETINGS FROM BRAZIL
@asgardthor123 as rahk050 says, the hard part are the bends, and being very clean when playing in +1 octave, otherwise the effect can sound really crappy.

@echelecopao hi ! he doesnt use a slide !! just a pitch shifter !! watch him play it live on the strat gig !!
Excelente cover, una canción de las más complicadad de David gilmour
@Stratocasterfreak Yep. If you look at the pedal you can see when I'm switching octaves
muy bien....👍
rahk0505 said "bitch glide capable." What a great potential band name.

nice work mate...How do you get the sound quality so good? i've just added my version of this to you tube but the sound quality is poor as its just the internal mic on my mac picking up the speakers and my amp.
Yes Gilmour use for this song a wammy pedal
very nice, i'm trying to learn it but holy hell its hard. But with practice:)

i need the tabs please
Oh my fuck'n God, man, serious? D'you have a fuck'n ears?
davvero davvero bravo, peccato per quegli errori, ma di sicuro la cover meglio riuscita, come sound e come esecuzione. complimenti!
question: from 1 to 10, how hard is this song?? i want to play it on my english class for a project i have to make...
What boss gt pedal are you using in this video?
what sort of effects are you using to get that tone/sustain
Love this song, great cover. Sounds like a whale song. You should see the live pulse version on the bootleg section
Yah
Don't use too much distortion. Also, make sure you're hitting only one string (mute the others) when playing in the high octave. It's pretty sensitive. More than one string vibrating ruins the sound when using that effect.
what kinda pedal board is that and how much is something like that?
3:39 - 3:41 sounded just like Gilmour
How much does the ME-50 cost?
