Good one as usual. One thing to keep in mind when in that part of the state: you are in missile country: the 90th Missile Wing has their Minuteman ICBM fields north, NE, E, and SE of Cheyenne, in all three states (WY, CO, NE). Don't be surprised if you see AF vehicles on the road going out to the launch control centers or back to Warren AFB... Not just that, but a lot of Old West history there as well: the Pony Express, Johnson County War, etc.
We drove down a portion of interstate 80 in Wyoming on the way back from a cross country trip to Las Vegas in the summer of 2021. This was done in anticipation of a possible closure of Interstate 70 due to continued effects from flash flooding affecting Glenwood Canyon, which ultimately happened a week after we drove via the canyon.
Thank you for sharing this with us Kyle! How many times in my life have I traveled I-80 east and west through that city! I really want to take a drive back and actually visit Cheyenne itself! It seems to be an incredible area to actually live (low cost of living) there! The weather can be all over the place but still livable from what I understand. I appreciate each of your videos! Have a great weekend! Mark in Iowa.
Wyoming feels like a magical place to drive in. Those high plains really feel like you're on the roof of the world! I know of Cheyenne mostly due to how often it features in the American country music scene. A few off the top of my head (in case you want some inspiration for future videos 😉) * Somewhere Like Cheyenne - Brad Cox * Rock Springs to Cheyenne - Micky & The Motorcars * I Can Still Make Cheyenne - George Strait
@@GreatAussieDrives Kyle has used George Strait's "I can make Cheyenne" in a previous video, but I think he only does Instrumental songs now to avoid the ban-hammer.
Cheyenne is pretty nice. Always surprised how many newer apartments are going up there (nothing like Utah or Colorado but for Wyoming it's impressive). Laramie is nice too but traffic is horrible for a place with 30,000 people. Left-turn lanes would probably help with that. Looking forward to more great videos!
Supposedly, WYDOT has plans to make the cloverleaf into a combined turbine thing, but the research isn't expected to be done until 2027, and construction could take even longer. Cheyenne is slowly gaining traffic thanks to the people escaping Colorado's prices, as well as us slowly becoming part of the greater NoCo urban environment.
Hey Kyle. Love your vids and been following for like three years. But I just have to say the music on this one didn't work for me at all... Not sure exactly why but didn't mesh good for me tonight. Pretty much 1st time that's happened on your vids. Was ok but just didn't hit a home run like most do. No offense meant Kyle I love your channel and traveling vicariously with you. Keep up the good work! Peace brother
Ok, I know you probably talked about this in your other Wyoming videos. But hear me out. The *Equality* State? The first state to allow women to vote? Everyone is thus equal? Ain't that *CoMmUnIsM?* (I'm the most haha funny guy, I know)

Thanks for tuning in Mark! I really enjoyed my time here in Cheyenne.

Nice tour of the Cheyenne Metro- despite the lack of one! Love the photos of the state capitol.
Thank you!
The amount of memories I have on this stretch of highway alone is genuinely insane, keep up the great videos
Thank you very mucho!

Nice looking state capital building! Very western!
It’s very visually pleasing.
Chyenne in my top 5
Forgot this: I'm surprised the I-80/I-25 junction is still a cloverleaf. The traffic volume must not support a major rebuild...

Back to September now!!!

Kyle, this is episode 73, not 72. Please fix the title of this video.
Ok, I know you probably talked about this in your other Wyoming videos. But hear me out.
