It allowed Spanos to finally pull the trigger on BOTH Staley AND Telesco (good luck with that one Faider Nation, LOL@U). Staley should have been fired after the collapse to the Jags in the playoffs. The silver lining in waiting though, is that they got Harbaugh by waiting the year (luck, not intentional. Telesco is not that smart). Y’all should have hired Belichick, AP is a great guy, but unproven and overmatched as a HC. The Faiders will not be able to duplicate the emotion and energy of the mid season change they had last year. Totally different dynamic. You have to go back to 1979, when Pat Malvasi took over for Chuck Knox after the second game of the pre-season. He is from what I can tell, the only replacement that has stayed with and CONTINUED the success for their franchise (the Faiders have had no success for 20 years). Malvasi though, had Pat Haden as his QB, one of the best in the league at that time. You don’t have a QB, you aren’t going anywhere, AP knows it, that is why he fought publicly with Telesco over getting him one before the draft. I think AP has been set up to fail so that Telesco can get his power hooks solidly into that organization, which is sad because AP is a good man and a good coach. Just not a top tier HC for the NFL.

The raiders had one of the worst head coaches in the first half of the season, so if you're going to cherry pick statistics look at the first half of the season vs. the second, and add in that the raiders had someone calling plays that had never been an offensive coordinator, and a rookie that was getting almost zero reps in practice for the first half of the season.
How is Telesco selling the future? The Wilkins signing was the only big signing and they still have 30+ in cap, and the only major signing they will have next off season is if Koonce has a good season.

It allowed Spanos to finally pull the trigger on BOTH Staley AND Telesco (good luck with that one Faider Nation, LOL@U). Staley should have been fired after the collapse to the Jags in the playoffs. The silver lining in waiting though, is that they got Harbaugh by waiting the year (luck, not intentional. Telesco is not that smart). For the first time since I can remember, the Chargers have a quality HC, have a top 5 elite QG and a GM that has been groomed in the Raven team building strategy. They are moving into the best facility in the NFL this summer, have one of the best training and medical staffs (finally) and will be a prime landing spot for FAs in the future. The future of the Chargers franchise is finally bright. With the weak schedule, there is a chance for 10 to 11 wins and a wild card spot this year (two wins against the Faiders). Y’all should have hired Belichick, AP is a great guy, but unproven and overmatched as a HC. The Faiders will not be able to duplicate the emotion and energy of the mid season change they had last year. Totally different dynamic. You have to go back to 1979, when Pat Malvasi took over for Chuck Knox after the second game of the pre-season. He is from what I can tell, the only replacement that has stayed with and CONTINUED the success for their franchise (the Faiders have had no success for 20 years). Malvasi though, had Pat Haden as his QB, one of the best in the league at that time. You don’t have a QB, you aren’t going anywhere, AP knows it, that is why he fought publicly with Telesco over getting him one before the draft. I think AP has been set up to fail so that Telesco can get his power hooks solidly into that organization, which is sad because AP is a good man and a good coach. Just not a top tier HC for the NFL.
