Marko has been replaced already. We do miss him. However, he needed time to recover his health and to have an opportunity to create his own music and sing, sing, sing! This song is a metaphor on the journey of life. The Islands represent to people and places we have on our journey. It is a turbulence ride. Home awaits us all if we are lucky. NIghtwish treats the music as the musical soundscape that helps to ell the story. Just like a great movie soundtrack.
Yesterwynde - starting with the shots of the old film projector - is the passionate intro to this album and leads straight to this wonderful orchestrated score about our weird sailing thru our lifes, meeting people of all kind - good and bad - and bringing us home to a safe harbour if we are lucky to overcome all struggles. Yesterwynde is like an old concept album by Pink Floyd, you might take the time to listen to it from the first song all thru to the last one. After about 50 times now it grew on me up to the 5 best albums I own - and I am 64 now and have about 8000 records. The last song -Lanternlight- is my personal song of the year 2024 by far. It is very, VERY different but exactly that is the reason - and it ends again with the projector. For me Nightwish has evolved to one of those rare bands, that create art without any consideration to what anybody expected or to say it the short way: Nightwish does Nightwish things. And I predict this record will be recognized in decades, just like Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the moon. Some records last forever. Well, I have no matter to wine about waiting a little bit to get your reaction. First others have the same rights on requesting, second I can see you are still struggeling with your health, which is much more important and third: I know I will get a very appropriate raction. So, I was wondering which song I should request next, but in those japan band reactions you referred a lot to guitar solos. Well - I have to say that neither K-Pop nor the J-Rock is my cup of tea here, but that is just my personal thing and I respect any other taste of music. Life would be so boring if everybody would listen to the same stuff. But - coming back to guitar - I want to request one of the - if not the best soli ever played live on stage and I hope it will rise up to you too. THANK YOU! Greetings from Germany
Dude thanks so much for the support & kind words! I really appreciate the explanation and your outlook on things. I’m getting better and better in health and should fully be back on track in another day or 2.. I appreciate your recommendations & watching, means a lot!
Tuomas has been using the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir for many albums now. So the classical instruments and choir you're hearing are the real deal. When they play live some of it is under Tuoumas's keys and the rest of it is on backing tapes. It is very expensive to take a full orchestra and choir on tour with you after all
@@RynnoReacts Tuomas has said that this album has only real instrument sounds, no synth. The orchestra and choirs really are up front. They even have orchestral versions of each song which are really just the orchestra tracks without the band or vocal tracks.
Floor recorded this whole album in 2 weeks, 6 weeks after she gave birth when it still hurt to stand up & with weak pelvic floor muscles. She had to take many breaks. I get upset when I have a hangnail 😂 She’s a Goddess, not human. 👽
This is the first Album without Marko, released at the end of last year, it's a great album weird not to hear Marko he is missed, he's been replaced by jukka from winter sun who hasn't done any singing so far. They are on a touring break but they've been together since 1996 so it's thirty years next year, hopefully they will do something for that. Great reaction, greetings from rainy and very windy Uk🇬🇧
Marco left the band in 2021. He said it was for health reasons, mental illness, and also the industry. He’s doing his own solo stuff and also teaming up with Tarja.
Marko's replacement, Jukka Koskinen, plays bass on this and the whole of the latest album, Yesterwynde. He is the bass player in Wintersun, where he makes up the rhythm section with Nightwish drummer, Kai Hahto. No singing from him (he does some backup singing with Wintersun) but he is an excellent bassist and the new album attests to his skills. He was also the bassist on the last tour, initially as the stand-in following Marko's exit, then becoming a full member in 2022. Marko is missed (and they can't perform some songs because of the loss of his vocals). However, the band is bigger than one, admittedly very talented, member. The new album is great and I don't at any point think, 'I wish Marko was singing on this'.
Yes, Jukka replaced Marko on the past world tour concerts from the virtual ones in May 2021 through to June 2023, when Floor collapsed after the second to last scheduled concert due to exhaustion and being about 6 months very pregnant.
Hi Rynno, greetings from Indonesia again. Good reaction to this quickly becoming a classic from Nightwish. Agree with all you say...... apart from getting close to 'rapping'...?
lol it’s from a previous video where I asked is there anything Floor can’t do? I asked can she rap… so in this song, at times, her lyrics and singing is the fastest I’ve heard. That’s what I was referring to.. I promise, I’m not comparing to rap, just the speed of lyrics 😆 🤘
American bands are slaves to the Top 40 radio 3-4 minute template. international bands seem to make the music first, and not worry about fitting it into a certain time allotment.
@RynnoReacts They tried telling Tuomas that once for a solar eclipse song, and we ended up with a beautiful longer ballad, Sleeping Sun. Nightwish has maintained their independence. Afaik, they manage their own business and productions, working with a tolerant Label.
Haha.. In a previous video I asked if there was anything she couldn’t do? Like rap?? And there wasn’t any suggestions which is why I said in this one it’s the CLOSEST to rap I’ve heard her get with lyrics.. def did not categorize or imagine this as rap.. 😂
Tuomas dedicating a few lines to Marko, wishing him the best:
"You who glow in deepest woe
Let it be, retiree, the water's fine
Sail carefree"
Interesting! Very classy of him
🤗🍒🤘🏻 Great Job again Rynno
Thanks!

There is 600 audio tracks so hats off for the mixing engineers.
No kidding!

It really was.. I’ve always reacted with Marko involved so was unaware of his departure.

No kidding, that’s crazy.. just shows she’s a Goddess!
Very well done reaction. We love it. You were totally right in your remarks...Thank you.
Thank you! I appreciate that!
Great reaction as always, thank you! NIghtwish are excellent at forcing one to really ponder life, and the many trails it can and should follow!!🤘
Ur welcome & thank you! 🤘
The more I hear this CD the more I love it.
Right!

Nice, I’ve only know the band with him, so I’m a little behind on that, thanks so much

Can you imagine telling Tuomas he could only write a 3-4 minute song? It would probably turn out being a 34 minute song LOL
Very true!
@RynnoReacts They tried telling Tuomas that once for a solar eclipse song, and we ended up with a beautiful longer ballad, Sleeping Sun.
Nightwish has maintained their independence. Afaik, they manage their own business and productions, working with a tolerant Label.
You didn't actually say "RAP" did you???????....I hope I'm mistaken....
