  • Fashion is rapidly changing. As some trends die new ones are born. Then there are those trends that do neither but seem to something totally different. Is the death of streetwear the end or a rebirth.
    EP.27 Making The Brand (MTB) is a video series explaining how to properly start a clothing business from concept to product and everything in between, inevitably helping you to go from clothing line to clothing brand.

    There he is! So good to have you back Rob! The most criminally underrated fashion youtube channel. My heart sank with the title but I still have hope LOL.

      The market is constantly in flux. Even when I think I have it figured out it changes.

    The market became to oversatured that and the resellers made things impossible to get . Brands like supreme etc felt more special when they were more underground etc .

    True. I have also been noticing the shift broh and since last year iv started to focus on doing more research and create a Premium Street Active-Wear Brand Which Will cater for people who skate,play basketball,dance and also go to gym. By the way, do you think my target market is too open and less focused or is it okay?

      I think you might be thinking to broad for 1 line. Now if you want cater to each group with their own designs under your brand then it will work.

    Quality of the garments and the type of material you use can be a way to stand out. its like Japanese streetwear who take time to create their pieces. i get what your saying

    Streetwear is not dead. Nor is graphic apparel.
    However it’s definitely time to put a new spin on something that is losing steam fast!

      As I said in the video its NOT dead, just the version of it that we know is. The Streetwear market is just evolving. Every fashion category goes through it about every 8-10 yrs.

    Would it be a good strategy to start with graphic tees and then as soon as your clothing brand gets profitable invest more in cut & sew garms?

    • @planetbrooklynacademy
      @planetbrooklynacademy  Год назад +1

      Yes. starting with tees you have low overhead but high return. Thats your bread and butter. Once you can stack cash with that financially it will be easier to jump into cut and sew.

    • @patrickdapaah
      @patrickdapaah Год назад

      @@planetbrooklynacademy Yes, thanks. Also, would you suggest learning yourself how to cut & sew by for example attending sewing classes (at least the basics) or totally relying on a cut&sew manufacturer to do everything for you, and you should just focus on giving them your sketch ideas?
