For whatever reason this music is so nostalgic i remember i always used to listen to the song while my mom was on the phone with the song playing in the phone
Back then when they used to make actual portable phones, not some 1-day battery life spying bullshit. But hey, at least the phone cameras are decent now...
@@Zader- same, albeit not in a terrifying way. To me, this song just hits different in low quality. I have a hotline setup (technically just a Google Voice number that automatically goes to voicemail) that plays 3 minutes of this song. It is kinda fascinating listing to how it sounds different across different audio codecs and such. When CDMA was still a thing, I noticed every network had a different sound in pretty much every market.
@@weatheronthe8s895 it does hit different in low quality but i think the reason it scares me is probably from some deep routed memory my brain repressed
I always got excited when I had to make a call to an insurance company for the office I work at because they 100% of the time use this song and I always thought it sounded like an 80s spy/cop movie and I could never get Shazam to pick it up for the longest time
.amr is a lossy compression format, which means it compresses the file using inexact approximations and hence the original file can't be perfectly reconstructed. That's why the file is lower quality. On the other hand, using a lossless compression format preserves the contents of the original file allowing it to be perfectly reconstructed. RAR and ZIP files are both examples of lossless data compression.
"This call may be recorded for training purposes" What training purposes?!? Training the Cia recruits how to psychologically torture someone foe 3 hours 45 minutes?????
*"Your call is very important to us. Please wait for the next available agent."*
KEEPS YOU WAITING FOR TWO HOURS
Make that 3 hours boi
No make it 4
That’s because they’re experiencing a higher than average call volume.
"VERY IMPORTANT"
nah make it 5
"We are experiencing higher than normal call volumes. Please hold for the next available representative"
YOU CAN'T ALWAYS BE EXPERIENCING HIGHER THAN NORMAL CALL VOLUMES
Your call may be monitored or recorded for quality assurance and training purposes.
The compressed version is much more of a vibe
I honestly agree.
Me3
Me 4
Most accurate phone version
@@SamCyanide I compressed this to AMR NB at 12.2 Kbps, which is commonly used for non HD cell phone calls. That is why it sounds so accurate.

That moment when you're so baked you actually thought you were on hold 4 minutes into it
Thanks, this song really sounds so much nicer in its original quality :3
I don’t know why but something about the phones design makes me feel happy. Great looking phone. Amazing looking video.

The day they "enabled" tap to pay at my workplace I endured this hold music for 2 hours while ALL debit and credit was down.
Nice, Jackie
It's definitely an interesting track, but I'm not a fan just because I've had to listen to it for hours on end.

How do you get phone compression quality?
Using Audacity, you can convert the file to .amr format, which gives you this result.
I just call for the phone compression
