Yes, this is not real and is an act, an act to show what really happens all the time! Your comment is very rude, so much like the front desk clerk’s attitude.
Thanks for the warning, but after the first minute I had surmised this was the usual rude white ill-treating someone of a different skin hue. RUclips is awash with these pieces whipping up anti-white sentiment.
In the 70s I went to a more expensive hotel-- they called a less expensive place and got me a room. They were very polite. In these videos I focus on the concepts not the acting.
I watched it to the end because I wanted affirmation that such rudeness would have severe consequences ... and yes, it is a poorly-scripted scene, and has truly abysmal acting, but it is a reminder of what is appropriate in a hospitality industry, and what is outright rude. If it changes the attitude of one "nose stuck in the air" hotel employee wannabe, it has done its job!
Funny how the snobbish Hotel Clerk harps about that being an upscale establishment, while his shirt is not buttoned and he is not wearing a tie. He is more trashy than his assumed "status" of the guest checking in. However, the guest could have done a little better in his attire as well, simply by zipping up his jacket.
I was once booked into a hotel in Belgrade where the snooty receptionist suggested that I had confused their hotel with a hostel of the same name just around the corner. The irony is that it was one of the worst hotels I had stayed in, and as someone whose early trips abroad were mainly on school group holidays, that is saying something! It closed down, and I am sure that it was not missed.
As late as the 1950's,, just before the advent of the civil rights movement, many hotels and resorts had "restricted clientele" policies that barred Jewish-Americans, Asian-Americans, and African-Americans as guests. Even though this was long before the internet, it often happened prospective guests would make reservations months in advance then be told b.s. the hotel or resort still did not have their reservation! Just like in the movie starring Gregory Peck and Dean Stockwell "Gentlemen's Agreement".
Gentlemen's Agreement is literally one of my favorite movies! My mom being a Jewish woman make sure I saw that movie as a kid and it's been one of my favorites ever since. How ironic I just was telling someone at my work last week about "Gentlemen's Agreement". 😊
Not to mention the 1924 Asian Immigration Act offended Tojo Hideki or even when Branch Ricky once threatened to leave a hotel he booked for a baseball team when the concierge refused to serve an African American player
My Filipino father in law had stories about traveling thru California in the 30s thru the 50s where whole towns were blocked off from Asians spending a night there. With posted signs. Today, two of his granddaughters are graduates of the Air Force Academy and serving as Majors. Life goes on.

This is the essence of racism. You need to know nothing about the person in front of you. In fact, getting to know someone who belongs to a group which is the butt of your racism can be more than a bit unsettling.
