Jess, I can’t think of a single singer that gives me chills like you do. You are a phenomenon. This was so moving, and the accompaniment so sensitive and delicately, poetically performed too. I have loved your voice ever since I heard you sing the angel from Gerontius and so I was delighted to hear you get your due praise recently on BBC radio 4. May you be healthy and sing beautifully for us for decades to come. 🌹
I know you probably get tired of hearing this, but...so nice to hear an ACTUAL contralto, rather than all the mezzos and dramatic sopranos pushing their voices down. Your voice is clear, relaxed and natural, with a real chest voice. Reminds me a bit of Maureen Forrester.
You can actually hear Peter crying in Ebarme Dich. The great Jonathon Miller always said this part of the passion made him sad and tearful, and to I. 😢
where is the VIOLIN? The pianist plays everything very beautifully, but that obbligato line begs for the violin that Bach wrote for!! I also think it would be a wonderful color with your beautiful voice.
I love your voice, very rich, powerful and colourful.
The best contralto voice actually.
Great and gorgeous.
Divine voice! I am moved to hear you sing this masterpiece. Thank you for bringing beauty to the world.

I've had the very good fortune to hear Jess live in Coronation Hall, Ulverston. Her singing is heartfelt and like a balm in troubling times 🕊💛🎵

Is there a spotify link for this one?

You have such a beautiful voice and your interpretation is very good. Nevertheless more moments like 3:40 will make your version excel
Thanks, beautiful , but the interpretation need to mature a-lot in my opinion, But amazing potential for sure.
Great singing but I'd love to hear this with a violin accompaniment rather than the tinkling cheerful piano.
