Thanks legend. Been wanting to get a good look at Pebbly Beach camp ground. We camp not far from there and go to Arrawarra. This is on our list now thanks you. Nice work bud.
Thanks mate, i didn’t really rate Neil’s awning to tell the truth, might of just been the rack it was mounted to? I was the one that suggested the Bush Company to him. 🤦🏽
Looks great mate. But check put Brooms Head too. Can camp right on the beach at the caravan park, fires allowed and no salt water crossing required. Just a bit closer to the neighbours..
Yeah. I have camped at Red Cliff a fair bit when I lived up on the Goldy. Definitely nice at Brooms head but where’s the adventure if you just drive in on the blacktop ?! Sandon would be my pick over Brooms Head as you can jump on the beach and go for a drive. Thanks for watching and taking the time out to comment Keith ! 👍🏼
Yeah mate, it’s a gem. Woody head ( just watch out for white pointers if your in a yak ), Sandon, Hat head, all good. Thanks for the vid. Cheers BobbyB.
Yeah Bobby, some good spots around. Like Sandon, just hard to get a camp, use to camp a lot at Red Cliff etc near Brooms Head, but has nothing on Pebbly. Also use to camp on the beach at Kemps Corner just south of Hat Head before we got caught by NP’s learnt me lesson there! 🤦🏽😂
Thanks Gav another variation to the beautiful high country, looks like you both enjoyed yourselves. Hope you gave the Cruiser a good wash down 👍thanks once again Gav for another great episode buddy, take and be safe 😊
Thanks Brad, what’s a bit more rust. 🤷🏼🤦🏽😂. Trying to mix it up a bit, but not long now and the seasonal closures will be opening up again. Appreciate the support guys ! 👍🏼
This wasn’t actually a real beach camp spot. 🤦🏽 but it’s nice to have some grass to wipe the sand off Luca. I’m like most older guys… not a big fan of sand, especially in the swag ! Thanks for the support mate. 👍🏼
It’s not as much fun as they say it is mate. The troopy hates the soft sand… this wasn’t quite as bad ! Thanks for watching and taking the time out to comment Braydo. 👍🏼
Love that area around Crescent Heads, use to camp at Kemps Corner until we got caught, threatened with big fines so now I won’t camp illegally on the beach unless it’s real remote.
Hey Gav lucky you went when you did as the VIC Alps are getting a flogging with the rainfall, pour old Sale copping it bad as well. All the major Rivers are up as well over 300mm - take care brother
I’m currently up on the Snowy 2.0 project, was getting snow 2 days ago. That episode was from about 5 weeks ago. Massive rain up at Hotham I heard, crazy fires to floods… definitely climate change. 🤦🏽😂
Thanks, great video! When crossing the creek to get to the campsites, do you think it makes a difference in water saltyness if you arrive/leave on an outgoing tide?
It could be a bit more brackish but I’d say unless there has been rain recently it would be more salty than fresh. It’s not a big system up stream. On dead low tide it would be less then a foot deep in most spots. I’m guessing if you like your vehicle you will be washing it either way. It’s well worth spending a few bucks at the local car wash or even head up Dorrigo way and find a river crossing to give the underside a good clean.
This is one beach that always goes well on RUclips. I just followed the lead of many others. But the only difference is I’ve been there many times before, I love the place.
Great Vid. I haven't been to pebbly in about 25 years or more. I used to go a lot back in the 80's and early 90's in my FJ45. The camp sites have definitely improved since then. Back then you used to be able to drive along Freshwater beach and all the way to Jones point (The other side of Wooli) Pretty rough tracks but good fun. You would be lucky to see a person on Pebbly at Easter time. Amazing place mate, thanks for sharing. 🙂
They would have been the days Shayne, you most likely hate it there now. I reckon that track would be well and truely overgrown, most likely closed for 20 years, can’t let anyone have any fun these days. Thanks for watching mate and taking the timeout to comment.
Good stuff mate, bit different to the norm. Cant beat a bit of beach driving. Used to live in Hervey Bay and spend a bit of time on Fraser and DI but being back in Vic you surely do miss it.
Definitely miss DI, even though it’s getting pretty hectic up that way these days, always wanted to do Morton Island but never found the time. That’s the one downfall of being in Vic. No real beach camping and driving. 🤦🏽
You’ll have no dramas, only issue is the tides, time that right and it’s a breeze. If it’s not low tide, don’t drive the fence line as can get deep over near the exit ramp.
A couple of my friends camped there a few months ago. I was supposed to join them but I was off filming my four days in Tumut video series. Looks like a fantastic place
@@mudgutzadventures436 yeah. I had some cousins comment of a Insta post saying it’s in their backyard. Thinking to myself nah it’s not… bit of research later I caught on to it. Seems like a nice spot also. 👍🏼
@mudgutzadventures436 let’s be honest. You only made your Tumut video because you didn’t know what Pebbly Beach to come to. Next time we’re going to Shelly Beach. Surely, you can find that one.
Hi mate - you mentioned in the video that sites can't be reserved but we've booked online - do you advise getting there early just in case our site has been taken by someone else? We've booked according to the National park site etc.
Sorry, if you book a site you should be right. All sites are numbered so that would be allocated to you. Think what I meant was you won’t get a spot over the xmas period as it’s so busy. Regular campers over Xmas set up ghost camps a month out. Hope you enjoy your stay, remember the tides. 👍🏼
