I mean, is it USA's fault for being great allies to have? It's Ukraine who wanted to join NATO, not the opposite. If Russia wouldn't have been so greedy for their "rightful lands", Ukraine wouldn't have wanted to join NATO this badly in the first place. Also, why is Russia directly involving the citizens, by even bombing residential areas with cluster bombs, if not for striking fear in them and make them "submit". Certainly that wouldn't be needed if all Putin wanted was to get them to give up on joining NATO, right? Putin could've come up with better solution, that is acceptable by both sides, and would make Ukraine consider not joining NATO for the time, but he chose violence and is forcing them to submit.

Strange how the West is so outraged at Russia invading Ukraine, a sovereign nation. Weren't Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya sovereign nation? Look at Libya and Iraq now after Western "liberation". Libya is 100 times worse off! No cohesive, structured government, police or military has left a vacuum for terrorists, drug smugglers, people traffickers, warlords and factions. Is invading countries solely a right of Western countries? US and UK have done it time after time in the past 20 years. The hypocrisy is mind-blowing. Not only does the UK and US not learn from their mistakes, they castigate Russia from doing the SAME thing they did! These Western governments had reasons that they believe were moral and just. Russia didn't usually agree with those decisions. Now Russia feels it has a moral and just reason for invading Ukraine and the West doesn't. That's just the way it is.

English is my 5th language and it isn’t very good.
In my personal opinion you should go back in history and understand what is really happening on the border in between Ukrain and Russia .
The Donetsk People's Republic and the Luhansk People's Republic are disputed territories in Donbas. The central government of Ukraine regards the republics as being under terrorist control. Both declared independence from Ukraine following an unofficial status referendum in May 2014.
This two regions want to be indipendente from Ukrain. Who is fighting with whom? Brothers and sisters with different political views.
You cannot imagine how many Russian people lives in Ukrain and how many Ukrainian people lives in Russia.
Russia doesn’t want any of ex Soviet republics. Ex Soviet republics would love to have Russian help, to have Russian resources, gas, petroleum, metal, wood etc .
Since Germany and Russia started building
North Stream 2 , to supply gas to European Countries USA has sanctioned Russia many times.
Usa has interest in selling gas to Europe.
      It’s all about money. Power.

I especially don't understand when first he says that he wants to stop the war, but when it comes to negotiation, he changes his mind and refuses to follow Putin's conditions. Moreover, for the person who wants to stop the war he asks too much for weapon. Even before Russia's invasion Putin asked Zelensky for demilitarization, but what he did? Exactly! What annoys Russia is that when Ukraine was mired in poverty, European countries did not or did not provide support. The only one giving them support is Russia. Meanwhile, it has already risen and wants to side with European countries or join NATO, which Russia strongly does not allow./// Because you just turn your back on the country that helped you and side with NATO? For what to side with the U.S. Everyone knows the conflict between Russia and the U.S. back then.

Considering that Ukraine gave up its nukes on a promise from the USA and the United Kingdom to defend Ukraine from attack, it is disgusting beyond belief that the USA and the United Kingdom would say "We will not defend Ukraine". That brings immeasurable dishonor upon the USA and upon the United Kingdom. I (as an Australian) am reminded of Britain promising to defend Australia before World War II and then abandoning us when war came. Our response of the time was to develop chemical weapons in Homebush Bay, (Sydney) (the subsoil of which is still contaminated) and to develop biological weapons in the basement of the Wagga Wagga hospital. Similarly, small nations will now commence building biological, chemical and nuclear weapons for their own defense. Japan, has been building the precursors for their nuclear weapons and for their delivery systems for many years. It is now likely that Japan will make the final step and become a nuclear power. The damage from this USA and UK dishonor will last for a century. It will be the century of shame for the USA and for the UK. Millions of people will die needlessly as a result.

China's way to explain the Ukraine/Russia war. I’m sure everyone is confused: If the news version of Russia vs Ukraine is too complicated, it is recommended to read the commentary of the novel version. See translation
More than 20 years ago, Ukraine divorced her ex-husband (Russia), and several children belonged to her.
The ex-husband was also very accommodating to her and left her a lot of family property. After that, the ex-husband also paid off more than 200 billion debts for her.
After getting rid of her ex-husband, Ukraine started flirting and flirting with the village bully (USA) and a group of prostitutes (Western states) until she was completely in their arms. That's still okay, (but) she completely listened to the village tyrant, and hooked up to attack her ex-husband.
The ex-husband was very angry and insisted on returning a child: Crimea.
Ukraine began to hold grudges and dreams. She wanted to marry into the NATO family and squeeze her ex-husband.
The village bully didn't want to marry her. He just wanted to use her to bully her ex-husband. With every effort, the two children were forced to cry and look for their father.
The village bully was always on the sidelines, just sending some expired items (ammunition) from time to time.
Ukraine thought she had someone to support her, and was even more presumptuous towards her ex-husband.
The ex-husband couldn't bear it anymore, and looked at the poor children, and rushed over with the guy to ask the two children to go back, so they started fighting.
Weibo netizens posted this explanation of the relationship between Russia, Ukraine, the United States, etc. with a family ethics drama.
    I understand immediately 😂😂

@@jocsanmenjivar Video is pure propaganda. It is attempting to show that Russia has problems with Ukraine cause of some centuries old grudge about how territory which was always Russian turned into Ukraine(as if serious foreign policy is conducted on trivial and childish stuff like that, especially the policy of a country like Russia).
When the reality is this is all happening because of USA declarations after the 2008 Bucharest summit where USA claimed they will get Ukraine and Georgia into NATO in the future no matter what. Right in 2008 both Angela Merkel and Putin told the Americans such actions will lead into a disaster of epic proportions.
USA acted upon those declarations in 2014(before 2014 Russia-Ukraine relations were perfectly normal and fine) with the organized Maidan coup in Ukraine when the Budapest Memorandum was breached and a pro-USA party was installed into Ukraine. There is a confirmed audio leaked in which a US state department official Victoria Nuland talks to USA ambassador to Ukraine about how they want the new Ukrainian government they are creating too look like and who should be in it and who should be out. Search the title : "Марионетки майдана" on youtube for the Audio. USA spokesperson Jen Psaki didn't even try to deny the audio, she just said it's: "A new low for the Russians"(to be spying like that).
These military actions that you see now in Ukraine are not meant to occupy Ukraine since Russia attempting to hold on to Ukraine(a massive territory with tens of millions of hostile people) would be the end of Russia(financially and politically). Russia has sent it's troops into Donbas to station itself there and has been bombing Ukrainian military bases, air defense installations and airports. This is all to establish Russian control over these 2 republics so that Ukrainian forces can just forget about taking them over. As for the larger picture, this is all in order to force NATO out of Ukraine. This is the cuban missile crisis of Europe.

@@jocsanmenjivar as someone who is not U.S or Russian affiliated I can actually see why Putin is invading Ukraine. If Ukraine becomes a NATO country then the U.S can start building military bases all over the Rus-Ukr border and essentially cut Russia's major supply route through the Black Sea off and also have capabilities of launching strikes deep into mainland Russia with ease (he also warned them and the U.S to not do that or it will be seen as a show of force for almost 20yrs now). It's the equivalent to Canada allying themselves with Russia and Russia building military installations on the border within striking distance of NYC or if China allied with Mexico and built bases right on the border of Texas and California. Do you think the U.S would sit idly by with a threat right on their doorstep or would they take that area before Russia could get in there.

@Sanctus Paulus 1962 well, that and also Ukraine is not far from Moscow if you look at the map. Putin is afraid that if Ukraine joined NATO, that would be cause for Long-Range missiles to be put in there and in range of Moscow and other cities would be in a vulnerable position of being attacked. It would be like the Cuban Missile Crisis with us, except the roles would be reversed.
Had Ukraine decided to remain a neutral nation, he wouldn't have needed to invade.
We weren't comfortable with missiles in Cuba. Why should Putin be comfortable with missiles right on his border?

From what I know Russia has been trying to get assurance from Ukraine but Ukraine made some wrong decisions. And if we compare to the invasions of other other countries (you know which country), Russia is trying to get Ukraine's attention with the minimum casualties they can achieve. It's just sad that innocent people have to pay the price but there were ruthless actions being done behind screens than the Russians are doing today and everyone is afraid of WW3 which I don't think will happen as this is more of a neighbour conflict

That's true. Even now today Russian troops were stopped by a bunch of Civilians in eastern Ukraine as per the news!!!! Stopped???? Does it need any more evidence that Russia is not at an all out assault on Ukrainian people. Actually Putin wants to clear the long term route, he doesn't want Ukrainian people to turn against him fully, since he wants a United Russia/ Ukraine Geo political entity.
The problem is the current Ukrainian leadership is very much westernized to notice the real damage being caused. The west will wash off their hands after provoking both these Nations and then let millions of Ukranians and Russians to suffer for years to come.
In that aspect, it's sure that they achieved what they wanted. They are trying to paint Russia as a tyrant and Ukraine as a helpless refuge. While it's partly true, what they project as avoiding WW3 is a joke. Actually Putin is trying to avoid WW3 !!!!!
if Ukraine joins NATO and the west makes military bases there, then there is every reason within short years, Russia will be squeezed by all sides and they will be more threatened than ever. That retaliation shall be much more bloody and violent.
The fact is that Both Russia and Ukraine are being dragged in to this conflict just as Kashmir for India- pak, Tibet for China... Of course The west was always successful in these type of jackal war fares.

Power.

  • @philip7415

I donor support war. However ,from the history and fact view , This video ignored the fact there were people who speak Russian as so called rebellion in eastern and some south part of Ukraine and they donot want to be part of Ukraine. So it is not only Putin’s personal reason . Also nato wrong strategy to be expanded to the east five times in last 3 decades too much and directly to Russian border is a major cause too . Putin warned not to do that but no change in last decade. It is exactly like what happened to USA In Cuba missile crisis last century . USA could not tolerate seeing suviet Union shipped and settle missile site in Cuba just in American front yard and threatened to go to war and even nuclear war with Suviet Union if you still remember this history. Basically human nature defines that two giants must have some enough distance to make each other safe and comfortable , otheuse possible fighting without doubts. For ordinary people like us , just like someone gets closer and closer to you from 5metrr away to 1m and to 10 cm nose to nose and eyes to eyes . You would feel unsafe and uncomfortable and want to push him away from you if too closed even if you have not touched each other. Just as some famous strategist said , nato expansion is like a pushing a. Steel spring the more pressing the more pressure back and the more dangerous. Such as , George Kennan “A Fateful Error” on New York Times 1997. And THOMAS L. FRIEDMAN’s article in feb 2022,
“This Is Putin’s War. But America and NATO Aren’t Innocent Bystanders.” New York Times. In many cases historians and strategists know every issues but new politicians only care short vision interest. Finally hope war will not be bigger and to end soon.

It's because NATO countries are I just Russia's doorstep and the east side of Russia is very flat with no defensible positions. So Russia has to protect the whole flank which they don't want to do.
The only solution that see is to expand East so that the flank becomes smaller and easier to defend.
They are doing this because Western (US) policy has been to put military assets on Russias boarder and Putin feels threatened.
What Putin is doing is terrible, but he is not the only one to blame.

A well researched and presented explanation of why this conflict has arisen. NATO being in the Ukraine is to Russia what a Russian missle base in Cuba was to the United States back in the 60's. Too close, too much of a risk. Is it that important for Ukrainian security to enter NATO? Wouldn't good relations with Russia and the rest of Europe be better and more lasting?

It's Putin's inability to drop the Cold War antagonism and intimidation approach with not only the west but his own neighbors as well that keeps pushing said neighbors towards the west. If he would just abandon the past and quit trying to be Stalin, Russia would be far better off than they currently are. The cold war has been over for awhile now. Nobody's out to get them anymore. Meaning no offense, but they're just not as relevant these days as they once were. People are just tired of putting up with Putin. When your entire foreign policy is simply to pick the side the west doesn't just to be a contrarian (and regardless of it's effect on your country) people are not going to want to have much to do with you and it's not their fault. He's holding Russia back far more than the west.

@@Razzal Ukraine is not a democracy. They literally imprison opposition and shut down media channels. As for Russia, i don't know how events will unfold from now on since it might turn into chaos but at the start Russia never wanted to steamroll anything.
Ukraine-Russia tensions started after 2014 Maidan coup in which USA(With EU support) ousted a democratically elected government and installed one of their own choosing. Before that event, Russia-Ukraine relations were fine.
There's even a leaked audio(not even attempted to be denied as false by USA officials) of US ambassador to Ukraine talking to USA state department official Victoria Nuland about how the new government in Kiev is supposed to look after they create it. Search up "Марионетки майдана" for the audio.
So in essence it's not that Russia wanted to steamroll Ukraine but then NATO decided to protect them, it's the reverse. NATO started a cuban missile crisis no. 2 by wanting to spread next to Russia and then Russia responded with :"Either you back off and make Ukraine a neutral zone or we steamroll Ukraine".
By the way USA claimed they will make Ukraine into NATO as early as 2008. And Putin and Angela Merkel told the Americans as soon as then that it will create a disaster.

It would be way more than enough effort than they would need to do what they are trying to accomplish.

Power.
And innocent people dying, civilians and very young military boys.
Anywhere USA goes creates caos and war .
