In this clip, Benzino attempts to dissect the incident on Oscar night involving Will Smith and Chris Rock. He starts by voicing his displeasure at the fact that they are two Black men who will always be associated with such an embarrassing occurrence. The rapper-turned-media proprietor then focuses his attention on Will Smith's marriage to Jada, and the issues that could have led Will to act out in such a shocking manner. Benzino states that Will had a mental breakdown due to the pressure and demands of being married to woman like Jada. He also indicates that Jada has emasculated Will to the point where he would do such a thing. Additionally, Benzino cites Will Smith's privilege by saying that if he had tried such a stunt at an award show, he would have left the venue in handcuffs.
As the discussion continues, Benzino shares his belief on why Jada Smith treats Will Smith the way she does, citing that her career has taken a backseat to his because he's so much more popular than she ever was and that probably frustrates her. Towards the end of conversation, Benzino gives a nod to Chris Rock for maintaining his professionalism after getting slapped, by pointing out how bad the comedian could have embarrassed Will Smith, with a microphone in his hand, if he truly wanted to.

I love Benzino’s take on this. Here’s the deal.. many alpha women today like Jada want to compete with their man and be the dominant person in the relationship. They want total autonomy and control. Ain’t no real man with any wealth and power ever taking a backseat or playing a subordinate role in his relationship with his woman. Jada needed to fall back years ago and play her position! She was supposed to be his co captain and provide a soft landing spot for her husband at home with their family but she didn’t want that role. She’s a selfish person and has been jealous of Will’s success for years now. However, Will has been weak and needs to man the fuck up before he loses everything he worked for dealing with Jada. She’s dead weight now and a liability. Whatever Will thought he had with Jada has run its course. Everyone but Will can see it. I’m rooting for Will to get it together and shoutout to Chris Rock!

I just watched a video where it mentions Jada never believed in traditional marriage or wanted to have kids. She was 3 months pregnant w/ Jaden when they got married and was upset at her own wedding because she didn’t want to be there.. Will thought he could change her and it has ended up causing him a lot of heartache, embarrassment, and now anger.. I’m pretty sure in their years leading up to the wedding, she mentioned all of her “don’t wants.” He married her despite that and she’s resented him since. All she’s done to emasculate and publicly humiliate him, does not phase her in one bit.
