Ma’am. You don’t know how much I appreciate this video. You made this so easy to follow. I was amazed that I was able to fix my jeans with my novice sewing skills. I’m 43 years old and this is the first time I’ve ever had pants that fit my waist without having to wear a belt. I’m so happy I could cry.

I have to say this... We are all suffering from the COVID-19 Quarantine. I work for a very small dry cleaner and the owner is trying so hard to keep me financially stable... Many of my working hours are voluntary. I am basically relying on tips from customers. Our seamstress is still closed so I have taken on her duties. Somehow I managed to alter 4 shirts for a police officer, a same-day hem for someone going to a funeral of a Corona victim, and guilted myself into taking in the waist of 4 pants for a grandpa and a pair of Levi shorts for a new customer...😬 I have no idea how I pulled off the earlier alterations, but I know how I am going to pull off the next 5...😏 Thank you. You didn't know it when you posted this video, but you are helping out a deserving small business and its good customers. ❤

I have no sewing experience and no sewing machine, but with a lot of motivation and by just following your tutorial, it actually worked! I LOVE the result! Really the V is gone and my belt and pants stay all day where they should be!
I have pretty big hips and a pretty small waist, so I don’t fit a lot of jeans, but this method is gonna help sooo much! Thanks for making the video❤️
Wow! I tried this and it actually worked. I always have the problem of pants fitting great in the rear and thighs but being WAY to big in the waist. I found a great pair of pants at the second hand store and thought I had nothing to lose. I am so happy!

this video was so awesome!! I'm so fed up with trying to find jeans that fit great everywhere. I'm not sure why designers think that women are shaped like blocks, or that some of us have actual curves.
Anyway, I have some pants that I otherwise like that suffer from the gaping waist issue, and thanks to your fantastic and detailed instruction, I could possibly alter them instead of dumping them off at the thrift store :D!

Amazing!!!!! I don't have a sewing machine unfortunately, so not sure I can do it by hand, but not only do your alterations look good (as in, pretty invisible!) but your video and explanation were really good. Thank you for sharing!
I just used your method to take a good 3" off of some stretchy jeans that were a size too big at the waist and now they look SO GOOD! The process did take me more than an hour though...I'm slow at basically everything to do with sewing, but it was time well spent ;) I much rather salvage jeans that fit in the thigh than let them go to waste...especially since jeans take such a toll on the environment to produce. Thanks for the tutorial!

Best tutorial I have seen on downsizing jeans, and I have watched a lot of them.
Very good instructions to reduce waist size of jeans. The finished product looks fab. The rejoined waist band seam is covered by the belt tab. Genius. My grand daughter is slim and tall, now her waistband fits snug. Thank you for your video.
This was a great tutorial thanks. I actually did this on my own jeans, and there's a few things I might suggest. First when drawing the darts, it's best to draw them on the inside of the jean, it is easier to know where to sew. I also find that the " half inch that will work itself in the jean" just makes it impossible to sew the band to the pants (unless you like ruffles)
Tip- Always press before you sew.

😍OMG this is the best video on this topic, and your results still look like it just came off the rack in the store!!! A friend borrowed a favorite skirt and it’s waistband was stretched out of shape permanently but I can see this will be the perfect solution!!! TYSM!!!

This is actually perfect! I recently bought a pair of jeans online and their size chart was inaccurate. Of course they changed their return policy and you can't even exchange an item anymore so I knew I'd have to get them altered. This actually looks like I can do it and not have to shell out a bunch of cash to save them 😅

This would have been Sooooo usefull to me if it had been available years ago, have to do this with EVERY pair of jeans and trousers I buy as my waist/butt ratio is so different, I had to learn this technique by trail and error but thank you for making this available - clothes look so much better when they fit properly.
