    I’m buying my 4th Range Rover this weekend. It’s an svr. I’ve had every toyota, a Chevrolet, mercury, and other cars. All cars break and is a line that they don’t. They do. My current car is a Range Rover with 105k miles. Never had a single issue with it. It isn’t 1994. They don’t break that much and if they do there are plenty of shops that fix them. I’d rather have a used $60,000 Range Rover than a new $60,000 jeep or $80,000 pickup truck any day. There’s no comparison and if you just want a point A to point B vehicle they make those. They’ll break too just like all of my “unbreakable” Toyotas that broke plenty.

    RR's get a lot of complaints about reliability, but the vast majority are for the massive amount of luxury features and off-road tech they have. I have never met a person who had engine or transmission failure in a Land Rover because the engines are Ford-derived V8's and V6's and the trans is ZF---the best in the world. All the air suspension, wade sensors, cameras, etc. that is the kind of stuff that may give you headaches down the road; however the car will never just die on you unless you abuse it. These are 100K+ cars and they can drive through water almost THREE FEET deep while coddling you in insane luxury. IF you pay the money to keep them in top shape, they'll last decades. Don't cheap out-----leave that to Kia people.

      Its true. Theres not much of a problem on the engine and transmission department.....its everything else. I own a 2104 RRS V6. Never had a problem with it. Had to replace the rear diff tho as this year's rovers were dreadful when it comes to that rear diff leak.
      I wanted to make it last quite awhile but screw it. Im shopping for a 15/16 SVR below 100k miles. First thing ill do is get that Crossover pipe changed

    I live in a town where these things are everywhere. Many, many of the owners are my customers and let me know they are in the shop...a lot! Many get traded for other high end vehicles that they claim are more reliable. While I don't own one I see many of people I know in the shop for reliability issues. I'd still love to have one. They have a really cool factor and people who can pay for it don't really care what the reliability is. I'd buy one if I could afford one...and deal with the issues...

All bought used with over 80,000 miles. I've never bought a warranty. The worst experience I've ever had is a dead battery in my first and third Sports. They are completely reliable.

      The one problem I had (which is mostly isolated to 2014 models) was that rear diff leak. Forums did suggest to get the rear pinion seal replace, but I just had the rear diff replaced instead of just the rear pinion seal. All covered under third party warranty

  • @clifbradley
    @clifbradley 3 года назад +2

    Most cars nowadays can go 100k miles with no problems. It's when they get past that point they start to have problems. The people that can afford these new, don't care about the issues. They get a new ine to drive and a loaner if theirs breaks down. But the vast majority of Land Rovers, Range Rovers, Discovery's, etc.,al. are leased anyways. Off lease they were still lasting for 3 or more years. Technology is why people get out of these usually, they want newer.. These newer ones have not really had the reliability issues like the older generations. All the electronics are the newer ones are what is going to kill resales. But how much is this one? I bet it is priced significantly higher than an off lease F-150 Lariat or King Ranch or Ram 1500 Longhorn. So M you get a vehicle 3 years newer, still a V8 and better Technology. Especially in the Ram. Although trucks are still extremely high right now.
