#civilwar - Кино
The point of Texas and California being in an alliance is so that the movie isn't focused on blue team vs red team, it's focused on how not-fun a Civil War would be.
This guy gets it
Finally, someone that's got common sense
This is why we can’t have nice things!
to encourage gun bans, self defence, militas , the consitution etc
No, it’s obviously partisan.
Well you know it's fantasy when California and Texas team up and Canadian money is worth something 😂
@Ni-dk7ni The Pound and the Euro would see an increase in their value. I think the Canadian Dollar would see a decrease in value which would be bad considering if a war like this broke out in the US then Canada would also be forced to deal with a massive influx of American's seeking refugee status while it's currency plummets with the US dollar.
so
I would normally agree and if a US civil war broke out our money (Canadian) would drop big time, but back in 2007/2008 the Cdn dollar was worth more than the US one.
If the government were trying to run a dictatorship, I wouldn't give 2 shits if you were Californian or Texan. We fight for a free country
Yup!
The Canadian Dollar being the desired currency is the most scifi/dystopian thing I've seen yet lol.
To repeat my above post. There have been times in the past when the Canadian Dollar was stronger then the US Greenback.
I sure as shit hope your comment ages well.
LOL, although I think the point is basically any currency besides the American currency since it's all in dispute.
If America falls into a civil war, the US dollar will become worthless, meaning that our closest allies currency becomes far more valued due to how they're the closest we can get to trade. So yeah, Canadian and Pesos will become EXTREMELY valuable if a civil war breaks out.
In 1864, the Canadian Dollar was worth $2.78 US.
I was hoping for 300 Canadian Spartans join the Civil war! I am so disappointed😭
Funny, I thought the same thing, I got a meme instead... 😒
I had some ancestors in the Newfoundland Regiment. There was no Canada in the war of 1812 so it wasn't Canada who kicked American Ass and sacked Washington and burnt down the White House it was the British and Newfoundland
Same
Me too.
Черная Рука Бедлама Питается Черным Котом и является этим дедушкой всех разбросанных пауков
Remember someone said you need F15s and nuclear bombs.
Yes. I do. And I look at who controls Iraq and Afghanistan again. Middle East red necks survived and won.
And F35s
Let’s go Brandon
Supposedly a few sniper teams and guys with ar15s and Canadian money can take down the us military
The movie is left wing garbage. Ron Swanson is set up to be Donald Trump.
Some of you are confused. You believe allies in war have to agree politically. That’s rarely the case. They only need to have the same enemy, to unite them.
So realize that a person who walks across the Darian gap, travels across Central America and Mexico, and crosses into the US - may have some strong qualities? They have passed through a filter that many would not have had the bravery, perseverance, and willingness to sacrifice short term for long term gain?
@@maxr6118 Are you a member of an American Indian tribe? If no, then at one point, one of your ancestors was a migrant too.
The details are left out on purpose but I would think the National Guard of those two states is pretty significant in size and they no longer took orders from the president. It was the guard forces that joined together. Texas and California didn’t suddenly start loving each other.
@@cloudstreets1396 it's hilarious how ignorant you are in thinking that Texas is some super conservative yeehaw cowboy wild west fantasy state. I know personally some Texas republicans, who are minorities, that are republicans not because they love trump or the cultural war bs he's pushing, but either because they love the low taxes, or they immigrated from a former communist country and think of republicans as the ones who stand for American liberty and anti-communism. I'm actually from California myself, and have visited Texas on numerous occasions, and it's not so different from here. Yes, if a trump or someone like him captures the state, erodes the separation of powers, tramples on the constitution, then hell yeah, I know a group of Texan republicans who would band together with me to stop him.
@@chrismackay8314 they come walking in designer jeans and iphones and bank account full of cash.
Just saw it in the theater. Just about everybody laughed when she said "300 Canadian". That should scare the hell out of Americans from having another civil war...Canadian dollar worth more. That would be a reality check.
Canadian dollar was worth 25cents more thru most of the 70s
Gotta love the ignorant folks who genuinely believe this couldnt happen
Heck, the CAD briefly topped the USD as recently as April 2010. Also happened in 2007 and 2008.
I know. I'm Canadian. But if they think the only thing that's going to cost them in a civil war is lives, they're in a rude awakening. The US$ would crumble, and it would be hard to get it back to where it was before the war
@@EricMarinko Thank you.
"The three term President"? Now, we know why they went to war. I played that back 3 times to make sure I heard that right.
The president ordering air strikes on citizens ended poorly for him...
Obammu? 3rd right now right?
@@leebrewer7394 in essence, but not in the flesh. The statement implied in the flesh. 3 terms
Not only that, but in the film it also mentioned that he disbanded the FBI, and launched airstrikes on U.S. civilians. Which led to different states besides the WF forming their own governments.

That's more unbelievable than a civil war
Calm down Canucks! It's just a movie. Us Americans don't want your silly money!
@@unpopularopinion1776Maybe not now, but look at the many times starting around 2008 when their currency was worth more and the US currency was crap.

To those saying California and Texas would never be allies, don't forget the USA and Soviet Union were allies for a while there.
Of course, the Soviets were allies with someone else before hand.
USA. And they were allies before commie revolution in 1917
It's not like California was ever a red state.....
and the US employed those someones afterward
And then they went right back to being enemies
I❤️Predictive programming
I could be wrong, but I don't think the Texas/California force is in reference to a political, ideological coalition of those two states. But that those two states hold the largest concentration of military assets in north America. So if the military from those two states formed a military of their own. It would be a coalition of Texas and California. Just a thought.
Jesse Plemons makes you uncomfortable because of his unpredictability and pure evilness. Man that guy is good.
Just watched this movie today and thought it was very good. The only thing is that as horrifying as much of it was it was still a very sanitized version of what a real civil war would be like.
I really don't think many of those spreading division really understand the the horror they are inviting.
Thank you! Exactly!
Yes we do 😎
@@blackticalmayhem8461 easy to say.
@@blackticalmayhem8461What kind of American are you?
California and Texas on the same side, what sort of fiction is this?
with all that talk about Texas 'seceding from the union' when any time they don't get what they want from Washington/Capital Hill, so how long have they been saying that?. Also not to long ago, 30+ percent of California voted to break the state in two, that's NorCal and SoCal. Point being ..... be careful what you wish for.
complete fiction. at most it would be Austin, Los Angeles, and San Francisco against the rest of Texas and the Rest of California. Their Civil War would never leave the boundaries of the respective states, because their supply lines would be shredded within two weeks.
California devolves into a hodgepodge of territories controlled by communist radicals, mexican cartels, and a counter-insurgency inspired by the CIA in all the northern counties of california because the northern counties are more rural, and therefore, United States' loyalists. various antifa sympathizers would do their best to infiltrate supplies through the northern counties from oregon and washinton, prolonging the ability of the various blue bastions of California to hold out. the cartels wipe out the various blue pockets and establish control.
in the end, california is reconquered from the mexican cartels after death squads go ripping through various loyalist american cities, killing every homeless and drug addict they find in order to cut off the cartel's supply of money by killing users instead of dealers.
And the United States' opening acts would be quite brutal: all US patents held by companies headquartered in california must move to a loyal state or lose their patents. anything manufactured in california is destroyed at the border, given a massive tariff, or stolen for loyalist use as it tries to enter. No electricity or water from lake mead for California. passports required for entry at the Nevada border. it becomes a foreign country at secession, so the CIA gets to operate freely. Drone strikes for everyone!
The navy bases on the western coast remain safely in United States' hands or are completely destroyed by evacuating forces or bombed into rubble if time does not permit destruction plans. The Panama canal is blockaded to secessionist california shipping. LA Center for air traffic control is destroyed so air traffic over california is brought to a halt.
And all of this occurs in the first three to six months.
And I just came up with this off the top of my head. I wrote a better movie than hollywood did.
It's the fiction kind of fiction. Spoilers, the hunger games weren't real either.
Texas/California partnership is a highly probable when the demographics are overwhelming majority of Mexican citizens. Therefore they both claim Indendence and non aggression pact between each other.
Maybe Austin TX, but that's about it
pfftttt canadian currency is valuable?
oh the director is a Brit
😂
Usually when War breaks out the currency is rendered useless. Look at how Germanys currency was rendered useless right before, they just had to over inflate everything....oh wait...lol
If a civil war really happens
Euro will replace the US dollar in the world
But most in North America will use the Canadian dollar
Not super valuable. $300 for 1/2 a tank? Means gas is real hard to find. So it'd be 4x-6x USD at that point. Even if the economy didn't crumble, you don't need a national currency if no one pays Federal taxes, so pretty normal under the circumstances. See the Confederate dollar value as an example. WF didn't seem to have a currency, just a ration card/permit system.
@@franada2750 sure
I can picture the president in this movie chowing down on a turkey leg wrapped in bacon
With an ice cream cone chaser?
President Swanson
Older Viewers may remember that the Loonie for a brief stint in the 1950's to early 1960's was on par or even exceeding the value of the US Dollar.
Back in 2008 2009 when it was getting weird for a bit, companies near the border and duty free were taking Canadian money on par for American.
I vaguely recall CAD being worth more than USD in 2013.
AUD has been stronger than the USD a couple of times as well, last time was 2010
@@ravenof1985 Ya, but it's such a long drive to the US.
Damn, you guys are in trouble if the Canadian dollar is worth something with Trudeau in power.
The satire in this film was spot on. Brilliant pic.

This movie feels like foreshadowing. We are already so close to this possible future.
I love that they are driving an excursion in this movie!
from a more civilized era, before 9/11, that's why i bought one last year, a v8 2000
Haven't seen this movie yet but in most of the trailers and scenes I have found on RUclips there is an element of irony that comes across more as satire than serious. Pansy male snipers with pink nails, CA and TX united, and now this, Canadian money actually worth something!
Wearing a ghille, sporting that tactical platinum hair, presenting a lovely spot to drop a bead on. Don't forget Richy Rich sporting his red tactical shades that match his multicam BDU's. Fuckin brit directors...
Still got my Canadian Tire money, dam it worth alot.
Kirsten Dunst is the prettiest actress ever ❤. Keep me posted Kirsten when you break up.

California and Texas? This might as well be a Lord of the Rings movie
abit like Northern Ireland and scotland teaming up against the uk central government , never happen since N.I hate communists

The details are left out on purpose but I would think the National Guard of those two states is pretty significant in size and they no longer took orders from the president. It was the guard forces that joined together. Texas and California didn’t suddenly start loving each other.
Sometimes economies or specific policy disputes can make strange alliances. I know it's unlikely, but I could actually see something like that happening. Texas and California economies are both heavily dependent on agricultural trade with Mexico believe it or not.
@@cloudstreets1396 in the film those national guard troops invade the white house and kill the president

Just want ya'll to know one simple thing about a civil war- Politics will CEASE TO MATTER when the food runs out.
Lmao with the politics will matter on a scale of importance when people get desperate.
We all knew this is what happened if Ron Swanson became president
MILITIA ON POINT
Why is it that people who have never been to war are always the ones who are quick to declare it???? That's a interesting question
Finally, our money has value 🙌 🇨🇦
Like Canada, much less their economy, will be totally unaffected if this happens. 😀
Not true at all it would most likely decrease.
Russian will leave Canada alone during an American civil war..... YES, canadian natural resources and minerals are of no interest to them especially over the Artic Circle ??, ..... so naïve of you Canadians.
Last I heard, Canadians were already surrounding their capitol.
I think a LOT of people are thinking this clip means our money would increase in value. It certainly would take a nose dive, just not as much as a country...ya know...fighting a Civil War
Apparently you dont understand how the american supply chain works
Dystopia new reality.
that's China today
We all know California and Texas have nothing in common. They are a polar opposite of each other. But I look forward to seeing this movie
The set up is the president has forced himself into a third term (which is literally unconstitutional), disbanded the FBI and bombed US civilians. Basically, the only way two states that hate each other would work together, against someone objectively much worse.
This is like "The Purge".
lol he looks tacticool :D
How is it tacticool? He literally just has a gun, the rest is just casual clothing.
Yes, justice for all not a few.
Now I'm curious how the Mexican Peso is doing in this scenario.

Looks like a trans jacksepticeye lmao
You guys think libs don’t have guns and don’t know how to shoot?? You’re in for a rude awakening if a genocidal effort was ever underway which is what the film implies.
This is a Disney movie compared to what the US is like right now
If 300 Canadian ever had that kind of pull…the whole world would have already resorted to Human sacrifice and cannibalism.
Another shiny thing to keep the people looking in the wrong direction!
funniest part of that scene is armed Canadians
Didn’t know this was an Alex garland flick, love ex machina and annihilation.
Funny how a film such as this ,miraculously comes out ,just as the American society is in the position, where civil war isn't actually as far fetched as it seems...
And whilst the world around us is being plunged into darkness, by ,Civil wars...Conspiracy theories would suggest ,this film is actually a pre run of things to come for real in the not so distant future...

Everyone makes fun of bitcoin, and decentralized finance, until something big like this happens.
This movie was so vague in backstory it was almost pointless. How did he become a three-term president? Why was it just California and Texas in the western forces and not other states? This movie had so much potential and completely blew it. I rate it a 6 out of 10.
Is this. Movie?
I wonder how much fuel they could get with Bitcoin.
When this movie coming out
It came out yesterday, was good
I can't believe Ron Swanson could get this mean
Jesse Plemons is the reincarnation of Philip Seymour Hoffman.
With our two party system, whomever wins President represents 1/2 the country and is against the other half, maybe US should separate, cite "Irreconcilable Differences"
it would be big cities versus the rest of the country with the suburbs being the warzone.
@@MrDirigible Not just suburbs. Don't forget college towns, which tend to be much more liberal than surrounding areas, and state capitals. And I don't think either the cities or country would avoid damage. Bombings in both places. Plus what each side can blockade. Rural areas could try to block food and water (though port cities could get around that) while cities could aim for communications and fuel. No one avoid pain.
Truth in fiction...we shall manifest this. Stay tuned.
Go Canada!!! Canada will add the USA as another Province once the war is over.

Elton john with a rifle what kind of American are you
Anyone thinking that California wouldn’t join up with Texas has never been to the state of Jefferson.
The joke is that the American dollar is going through hyperinflation because of the war.
Not sure I can buy Garland's premise of a succession merger btwn TX and CA. Possibly between certain counties in CA and TX. Really seems to be stretching what is believable.
That’s the whole point of the movie my guy
Gotta look at the bigger picture. The broad premise
Teyhaus and Caliphornyah? Arent all the stealth bombers in Missouri?
Texas would NEVER link up with commifornia!
Ammo/Gun sales gonna sky rocket
I thought the same thing.
Same, If I went to war in this film's universe I would use my WWII era M1 Carbine a weapon used on the beaches of Normandy and in the Pacific
I’d go armalite and Glock just for the fact of popularity which makes more availability to scavenge mags, ammo, parts etc.
It started months ago. I work in a gun store and we have a lot of the first time gun buyers coming in for months now worried. Most won’t be fighters more for protection others getting ARs and side arms will probably step up on which ever side the believe in.
@@seanpanza1970 Completely agree. I worked for a class III for years. During Covid we got more new gun owners than ever before. We ended up giving a half day class for free for first time owners.
The Canadian Dollar, really? The Mexican Paseo would be more appropriate because it's a California & Texas alliance.
I wonder if the President is using Ron Swanson's pyramid of success? And remember fish is for sport only.
Hey gold Maple leaf 1 oz coins are highly valued.
California wouldn’t survive a day, there’s no app for that.
The best civil war should be describe should be the irish one, that is the most western one! This is like a zombie movie in the way it is shown like there is no consequence for anything

Its a fiction not documentary. Its not a real world, its the world thats been existing in this movie, you dont even know what year it is. Movie is about brutality and nonsence of war. Politics is not that much on the first place...
What would be the closest, easiest to get currency that would hold its value as the dollar drops off of a cliff? Thats right, the Canadian dollar. This is not very unreasonable, people would use whatever they felt was a "safe" store of value.
