Games for Windows 95 sampler disc

- Neat little disc produced by Microsoft in early 1996 to show off games made for Windows 95. The interactive 3D menu is reminiscent of Doom and similar games, which is also on the disc.
I don't intend to show every game demo, but two that caught my eye were Full-Tilt Pinball (a version of which was also part of Plus! 95), and Doom, which apparently lacks an episode selection menu.

My first PC gaming experience! Thanks for the nostalgia trip :D
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS !!! Can't even begin to explain the nostalgia of getting to see all this again !
I've been looking for this for years now. I plan to re-live this, one of the best gaming experiences, again in a VM. A thousand thank you's. ;)
This and Hoover was my first games on PC ^_^
Gotta love that farting bass drum in doom
I miss those days!
thank you for this I unlocked a memory from qhen I was 6 years old wonderfull time with this games
i had more fun exploring the station and finding the secret room than i ever did playing any of the games
Thank you so much for sharing this. I miss this disc and this era of games so much. The Neverhood changed my life, and I have this demo disc to thank for leading me to finding it.
So this is what got me into Mechwarrior 2.
my first PC disc on my Packard Bell!
Oh the memories
Dude... I can't express my gratitude for this.
Oh, that's kinda neat. It reminds me of the PS1 Namco Museum games (which actually each had a full 3-D museum to explore, not just a menu of games like other Namco Museums for other consoles), though obviously those came later.
God, this takes me back. What a time!
The DOOM influence is strong with this one but honestly it reminds me more of Bungie’s Marathon, even down to the font used for the game’s logo.
Definitely got Marathon vibes here.
I spent 100s of hours on this thing as a little kid, and I never understood why I couldn't play "the space game" in the intro 😂
It's just as awesome as I remembered it
I was 10... or 11 when this came out. Thanks for the feels.
The people designing this thought they were bad ass and were doing so much coke their noses were bleeding on the keyboard.
Oh wow. I remember watching my older brother play this. I knew it was a demo disc, but I forgot what it was for.
1:01 Watching this again I just realized it’s probably Mike Shapiro (G-Man, Nihilanth and Barney VA from Half-Life) doing the voice. He also voiced McZee in 3D Movie Maker.
This is... Very cool! I never got to play this, sadly. The music is awesome. The "This is a test of the Emergency Broadcast System" music is a banger.
I love the DOOM-esque hubworld, the Windows 95 logo after the cutscene was cheesy as hell and the "DOS Is Dead" sign was so funny.
Monolith also had more great music
Hidden on the disc.
There was one where a guy shouting
Monolith!!!
or the one where s woman talking
About evil in the world arriving.
Never heard the emergency
Broadcast one.
That music was my jam back in the 90's.
OH MY FUCKING GOD! THE GAMES GAME! I never thought I'd see this again!!!
If I respectfully give you an advice, do not ever say anything like "Oh my f* God" ever. Its a great offense to God. Do not insult or take the Lord's nane in vain. Peace !
Do you have a longer version of the emergency broadcast song?
Never understood the silver guy tho.
Was he a good guy or bad guy?
Why was he after the ship?
Guess we'll never know?
*cries in nostalgia*
Do You have a list of all the games?
There is a nuclear game on the disc
By monolith
yeah Steam is cool and everything but it doesn't play specific songs when installing a game like this does
“DOS is dead” the irony
🤣😂Hell yeah!
DOS IS DEAD
