  • Please help out my buddy Jon with this issue. He spent around $2900 US on RC4WD website and it keeps blowing this hydraulic line. It came with very little info and no warranty. He bought this new a few months ago. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

The issue might be solved by now, but usual cause for the hose to blow is too high pressure setting on that relief valve, inside the machine, 0:12. When the machine/pump is running, and the boom/arm not moving, there will be max pressure on the hose that has bursted. It's the normal setup, one just need to secure the pressure setting not being too high. Operating pressure for these models are typically around 300-400 psi. The hoses usually takes 500 psi before bursting. Turning the knob clockwise, it's higher pressure. What I do when not sure about the setting, is turning the knob counter clock wise, until too little pressure able to move the cylinders, then gradually turn it clockwise 1/2 a turn at the time while moving the joystick and putting my hand on the excavator boom to get a feel of the force (or doing some digging in sand/gravel). In the end set the pressure just high enough for the excavator working okay, 'suitable' power. higher pressure than needed just drains the battery quicker, and higher risk of bursting the hose. The outside knob 0:32 is the air relief for the hydraulic tank, needs to bit open to avoid vaacum in the tank, as the oil level will variate some during the use of the machine. These rc4wd models are fine working for their price class, popular with many within the hobby. A weak point can be the track system; a bit powerfull track motors that can snap a track link if larger stones jaws. It good to have 4-5 spare track links at hand. But no big issue if watch out and take care not 'speeding' to much into rough gravel. Otherwise a fine forum to seek info regarding such models is 'rctruckandconstruction' at facebook

Thank you for all of this! It's my buddies and he hasn't ran it since he fixed the hose. I will share this with him. I'll let you know if it works out. Thanks again.

So I finally got this 360L on my bench and going to try to get it running right for Jon. I'm going to try what you recommend first and go from there. I just joined that Facebook group and waiting on approval. Thanks again for all this information.
