Love Tokido, the fact he said SF6 is his favorite over last season of SFV because he loves seeing new players and seeing fighting games grow is such a strong answer. No whining about system mechanics or balance or discussing meta, he just loves seeing so many new people enjoying fighting games
Dude, says the person who plays casual games like yourself is going to say that closed minded comment and doesn't know any better. Plus, a game is always going to have new faces and new fans regardless. Sf5 was garbage
I appreciate Tokido but of course he's going to say this. While I don't think he means much by it and of course it's good to hear about new players but that seems to be more of sweeping issue. So many games are focusing almost entirely on appealing to and milking the casual playerbase instead of trying to make actual good games. Ironically, I do think SF6 has had the most success with this gameplay and design wise but then you have the shitstorm of their microtransactions and of course the divide in "Modern" controls but overall not as bad, especially when you compare it to the shitstorm that is games like the new Mortal Kombat and Tekken.
Tokido is something so.... great. honestly though, his English improves and improves every year we see him interact with English speakers, it's awesome to see
Tokido is a damn treasure of the FGC. my favorite player since the streetfighter four days. Always has a great attitude, is friendly and inviting, extremely talented, and a showman. To me, he’s the pinnacle of what the FGC is. Thanks for the interview Broski and great job at the Kumite.
@@Asterra2 And it didn't even look too much like Mena was lacking too much in matchup experience. He was abusing a lot of jump-in angles that AKI specifically struggle with because heavy whip moves her forward, and did a lot of empty jump throws because he was expecting the PP anti-air. Broski was just playing incredibly well overall. Such an amazing set.
@@gwen9939 Broski always seems to prefer being the top player of the most technically demanding-and simultaneously solidly bottom tier-characters, right? Oro before this. There's no doubt that being unexpectedly good at the most unpredictable character can take you places. But being bottom tier, especially in the thoroughly imbalanced SF6, is just too big a hurdle. iDom would be the first to agree with this.
These legends shape the fgc Today and I am with you they played during the times where the rewards were 50-100x less compared to Today's Tournaments. Age is catching up I hope they can maintain this passion as much as possible. Tokido use to say in sf4 he practiced 8hours a day😅.😅😅
Thank you, it's so rare to have interviews of japanese players in english, and Tokido's progress in english is impressive. He seems to be such an awesome person !
I met Tokido years ago during the KOFXIII era (Stunfest tournament), he enjoyed far more playing it than USFIV actually. He's such a nice and passionate dude! We had a blast playing with him.
I love tokido, he's a chill dude and you can tell he'd be an awesome friend. Also very evident that he's super beloved in the FGC even amongst the best and the greatest
Tokido's the goat, brilliant player and ferocious but outside the chillest and friendliest of the Japanese legends. I'm so excited to see what he can do with Akuma
This man is just so unreasonably charming. I think this Broski fella is neat as well, turns out he plays fighting games pretty well on top of being a professional interviewer.
About the Luke nerf: I really felt that one. The whiff punishment on Luke is so much easier and 2MP was always his best pressure tool. I think he is still arguably one of the best characters, but I would say that Cammy is probably very underrated atm because she beats the complete meta (Guile, Luke and JP) and has a good matchup against Chun. Thank you for the video, Tokido is probably my favorite FGC personality, so it is great to see some content of him I can actually understand. XD
Refreshing that Tokido has a similar view towards drive rush that I do. Feels like any time there are posts or videos on interrupting drive rush, they are often met with a "git good" or downvoted and clowned on heavily. Felt like I was going crazy with how few people seem to talk about it lol.
Tokido is a damn treasure of the FGC. my favorite player since the streetfighter four days. Always has a great attitude, is friendly and inviting, extremely talented, and a showman. To me, he’s the pinnacle of what the FGC is.
Your performance at Kumite was one of my favorite SF6 I have watched to date. I was screaming 😂😂 my son and I were watching from our hotel room on vacation. I liked you before but now I aya huge fan. Well done. I cant wait to see you come back.
Damn, Tokido's english is so good now. I'm American and even I had to focus to understand Broski's accent a few times. Tokido didn't even ask to repeat once.
Tokido's English was decent to begin with, but he has noticably leveled up a lot since sfv released. That's a Todai grad for you. He clearly has good comprehension, and honestly his vocabulary is surprising at times. That indicates a high level of reading ability and understanding of English mechanics. He's just missing that bit of immersion to achieve fluent speech. Tbh, I know a lot of native speakers who wouldn't be any more eloquent in front of crowds and cameras.
It's awesome to see a wholesome and interesting Tokido interview with actual well-articulated questions. No disrespect to other people, but I see a lot of just yelling things at pro players and/or asking really weird/wack stuff.
This man is a sleeping demon, he used yo be known for searching the depths of fighting games to find their cheapest tactics. If he taps in it’s gonna be different
I wished you would have asked him what was the reasoning behind sending Bonchan in vs Mena every time in the SF League Finals and not giving himself a shot versus him after Bonchan starting losing.
Congratulations to Broski for making the most hype set in Red Bull Kumite, for me Broski was the big winner in this tournament! AKI is cool, Broski is cooler!
It would be cool to see some old moves as extra specials, like cammy's sf4 omega launcher, or ed's air punch thing. Just some stuff to spice up combo routes would be cool.
I first remember Tokudo starting to embody the personality of Akuma. I thought he was a mean douchebag. But I saw him photobomb someone’s interview at a SF tournament which surpised me. 😂
Dude Tokido is the true presentative of japan when i see him is like seeing the actor Hiroyuki Sanada, they both represent Japanese manhood and values for some reason x'). btw I think Akuma will be Ryu in hyper mode aka more damage and more frame advantage
Love Tokido, the fact he said SF6 is his favorite over last season of SFV because he loves seeing new players and seeing fighting games grow is such a strong answer. No whining about system mechanics or balance or discussing meta, he just loves seeing so many new people enjoying fighting games
Tokido always rides the meta instead of railing against it.
Sf6 in its first season is far better balanced than sfv ever was. Vtrigg and vskill absolutely fucked the balance over the whole roster

Broski is cool
but A.K.I is cooler
Good comment from a good commenter.
They're cool 😎
We are all cool
you are cool too
The Capybara and the Murderface together in the interview.
I think that the most exciting thing about Akuma will be all the crazy shit Tokido's going to come up with.
And the super Akuma Loyalist from Japan who is just as good as Tokido's Akuma. Check out Naoon.
@@MuhammadAli-xw4yc and lets not forget Mr Takamura aswell.. thats a very good player!

tokido's sf5 akuma is what got me into SF, i used to watch all his games on yt and try to learn from them
@@ivaerz4977no way , I don't think there's been a single sf game where akuma was low tier , he was always atleast mid tier

He's still my favorite FG player as well. 🍺 Id argue he's the goat because of how he approaches all other sub-genres if we going by stats
It's so hilarious how such a delightful and pleasant guy is nicknamed "Murder Face." Brings a smile to my heart.
"Cammy is top 1 because she beats my character" That's why he's the goat folks

Brosky, your match against Mena was the most interesting of the tournament. You did awesome!
Pretty much the only one that went to the last match, right? Rewatch it and see how uncomfortable Mena gets as it progresses.

I always loved how tight knit the fighting game community is. Tokido saying he likes SF6 because of all the new players is heartwarming.

MVP of the rbk. Best set of the camp. When is your interview?
His English is gradually getting better, he looks happy to be able to show how he feels about fighting games to more people
Tokido seems like he really really just loves fighting games and wants them to be the best they can be. FGC is awesome

Cool interview, I understand why I'm afraid of Cammy now :D Also, awesome performance at Kumite Broski. It was a delight to watch.
