This Ronald McDonald was actually Willard Scott, a well-known National Weatherman in in later years. In the 1960s Scott was one of The "Joy Boys of Radio" on Washington D.C.'s WMAL morning show. When Scott left WMAL, his show was replaced by Harden & Weaver. Weaver at the time was the guy who was the Smoky The Bear voice. I believe his voice is still used.
