I had a friend that was damn near a master with this technique. It was my first time seeing it when he displayed it. His defense was flawless and his punches connected almost every time because he was so unorthodox.. he was damn near obeist but was so quick and smooth. Never knew he was doing a legit fighting style... R.i.p Biggie outta Tampa FL

Hope people grasp the level of difficulty this man just showed with ease. Sign of a good teacher is making the hard understood by the simple. I'm an old head- we boxed the way kids play football now. Always had issues w Philly shell/ Peekkaboo opponents. - 52 never gets credit when it's actually an adaption of these styles and in close / no glove striking even superior in some ways. Shell/Peak originated from "jailhouse" -even before that the roots go back to slaves who were chained so there was no distance. Same ideas just different expressions. The way he explains the "rooted" " back leg is the best I've heard. Respect.

The bottom line is, the 52 blocking system is by far the most effective defensive martial arts existing, especially as demonstrated by LB!
And, yes, it is very reminiscent of ancient African martial arts.
What I wholeheartedly respect is, he allows his students to spar, which leads to perfection of the art.
Real teachers allow the application of the science. Great workout!!

      @tyrfree5733 2 года назад

@@michaelclay8471 You looking at martial arts the wrong way. You can't go through in life of fighting knowing just one way of fighting. The more you run into different situations you will learn that different martial arts help out in those situations. For instance there are a lot of people that know Brazilians jiu jitsu, but don't know how to box because they didn't focus on learning that skill. So if you run into a grappler and you know how to box, you have a good chance of knocking that dude out. 52 blocks is something just to put in your toolbox because one day you might need it and it's something that you can quickly switch to from boxing stance. Like if you knew how to do Wing Chun, you could go right into 52 blocks from that.

I saw the thumbnail and instantly thought the same lmao. In wing chun, to defeat boxers you use your elbows alot to hurt their fists while either defending/creating angles/or simultaneously attacking. It's interesting to see how many styles spawned from Wing Chun principles. Bruce Lee was a student of Ip Man and JKD was the result of that.

Ofc bc the bones at your digits are much more fragile, but when exactly is the right time and u ovi have to practice reading fighters n ur timing it looks good but an unorthodox street fighter is most likely coming at u with a barage of punches followed up by a form of take downs, I believe that the percentage of fights that hit the ground are around 90% that block has left the window

Thank you for sharing the structural details for Skull and Bones. Devil's always in the details.
Btw. Now that I have had the Advanced class sub for a week, I am enjoying it. I do have a couple of suggestions though, on the 1-52 block videos, they speed up as you are getting to some of the less shown blocks. Maybe have break down vids. Like for example blocks 49-52, hold the positions for a moment and show the different things it can be applied to, in bareknuckle context.
You show all of the blocks on the lesson 26: 1-52 against bare knuckle video. But it's a 1 min video, all the blocks are "chained" together, and there are a few where you go out of frame.
I like the course, I will say lesson 26 is the one I go back to and re-watch the most, at the moment.
weapon-wise, I enjoy the views from other people and the stuff you have and are talking about adding. Historically for me..... knife stuff, I've followed Tom Sotis for close to 20 yrs, gun I lean towards Craig Douglas (southnarc back in the day). Traveled a bit when I was younger and attended a lot of seminars. I guess I am looking for a crash course in 52. And the stinger is cool, I'd sub it with a punch dagger. But stinger is great less lethal option, and would go great with your defanging the snake punches
These are suggestions, none of them criticisms. Salute! thank you for all you have put out there!

Because it doesn't work against actual, real violence.
It's great if the opponent comes straight at him with linear attack patterns.
You throw a quick 1-2, and a hook to the body, he's not defending all that.
Especially if you're moving your head and feet like you're supposed to.

Somewhat the same movement as Philly shell defense...especially how Floyd does now that I notice the elbow...but this is sharper as the lead arm's elbow is main point of defense along with the forearm and hand of the rear arm locked into position. I like this defensive stance very effective brotha.
Congrats brotha I learned about this fighting style over 20 years ago and I'm happy to see its being perfected over the years.
