I wasn’t watching battle rap during Mook’s hay day.. But off this interview alone, I see why everyone who watched him in his prime considers him the goat. He just comes off as a real, down to earth guy, who has the gift to make the audience see things from his perspective. In just over 10 mins, he buried the notion of him ducking people, or asking for too much money. Instead, he flipped it on his potential opponents. That ability is like a battle rap cheat code. I’ve only been watching battlerap for 4 years (saw a few battles back in the Fight Klub days), but I see why long time fans believe he is unbeatable. Bars and schemes are not enough to beat someone like that

April 1st appreciate it bro. In order to beat someone like Mook, I think you have to take an honest look at yourself. Figure out your own flaws in your battle style and in the moves you made in the past. No one is perfect, and we have all made questionable decisions at some point. Once you figure all of that out, prepare bars to rebuttal those points and end each point with a haymaker. This could work against you because you might end up bringing up stuff that Mook didn’t even plan on rapping about. So it’s like you’re putting yourself down, on top of everything that Mook is saying about you. If Mook doesn’t bring an issue up, then you have to cut it out of your round. So you have to have the ability to mix and match the bars in your rounds, as you are rapping. Cut some things out.. Move other bars around.. Mook is going to change how we view you. You have to change it back, then attack Mook. From what I’ve seen and heard in battles and interviews, the only people I think capable of doing this are Hollow and DNA. There may be a couple others, but I can’t think of anyone else right now. I don’t think people are interested in Mook vs DNA. So Hollow would be my choice. Surf is one of my favorite battle rappers, but if he tried this, you already know what’s going to happen.. Jersey (choke). If Surf’s 1st battle back is against Mook, then he has action. He can just do his thing, and the crowd will love it because he’s home and his return is also highly anticipated. But I’m sure Mook would have something in the stash for that as well. It’s tough bro, but I don’t see any other way.

Empire Lifts Back, RBE is NOT paying Mook that much for one battle, and Ars opened the talks with 40k for Mook (with 20k the same day he talked to Mook.... which Ars says was negotiable, IF Mook wanted more.... but Mook never got back to Ars.) ARP and RBE offered Lux 50k to battle Verb, but Lux wanted more. That's why we're not getting to see that battle.

Coming in as a fan back in the day, Murder Mook was my favorite. I still regard him as a great. Aye Verb's battles are hit or miss, he'll have some fire bars, then he'll go left with the shit.
