Omg what if the weaver's husband didn't even die. It's just a ploy she uses to get people to feel bad for her so they'll buy the many "Void" tapestries she made
I never understand why people hold this series up as some beacon of feminism. All Feyre's new friends are simply her boyfriend's friends, she's financially and emotionally dependent on him and he gaslights her with that "your choice" bollocks despite the fact he knows girl has absolutely no life or resources outside of his sphere and is never going to go against him. Just because her first relationship was more overtly abusive it doesn't mean this one is healthy. Not too mention Captain Feminism is less a feminist and more a nepotist. We never see any evidence of him empowering women in general, just putting his connections in positions of power.
What really got me on my latest rewatch is how self-congratulatory they are about being the first people to _ever_ question gender roles in their society. Like bro, do you really think that no one has ever noticed the problem before? Not even the women???
ACOSF spoiler ahead for the purpose of shitting on Rhysie: I was SCREAMING while reading ACOSF when he neglected to tell Feyre giving birth was about to kill her??? @@zk5228 "my 20 year old mate is so much smarter and better than any other faerie woman has ever been 🥰🥰🥰" like bet rhysand, feyre is absolutely the first woman to ever say she wants to be treated better
I agreed so much with Tamlin when he just responded to Rhysand's vile comment with "get out." Tam's clearly not a villain. He is a fallen and lost hero who needs help...just like the other characters. Rhys was allowed to slip up but not Tamlin? I think they could have done so much more with this character. The author made a misstep here. There was so much hypocrisy in this book that it feels like the author lost the pulse on what each of the characters' motivations were and also the spirit of the holidays that she is meant to portray in general. Also Lucien, who is genuinely a good faerie. Man, give these spring court guys a break.
i havent even read book 2 and 3 because ACOTAR was so painful to push through, but I'm shocked at what SJM has done to Tamlin. He actually was a bearable love interest, which is rare to find these days. Also is everyone forgetting when like Rhysand had Feyre grinding on him when she was under that potion thingy---😀
I was always so confused when I first read ACOTAR because everyone hated Tamlin. I kind of spoiled myself with the fact that he locked Feyre up in the mansion and after reading ACOTAR, I get it. He literally saw the love of his life tortured right in front of him! He shouldn’t get all this hate. Rhysand pointed out in the second book that he didn’t like how Tamlin found Feyre under the mountain only to bang her against the wall when you guys literally give oral during the middle of a war??
Thank you!!! Finally someone logically and objectively thinking it out rather tham jumpimg on the hate train. I literally got DRAGGED and REPORTED on a SJM fan account for literally saying the same thing because apparently I was "sympathizing" and not holding an abuser "accountable"??? Like?.....
Every single time Feyre paints I just think... what if she's terrible at art. Okay, just imagine her drawing something and everyone just nods and is like, "Oh yeah, so beautiful." But in their heads: "Is that a horse?" WHAT IF.
@Death Omen When you're trying to pull an H.P.Lovecraft's mysterious and abstract description,to explain something, but not explain it at the same time, but your writing skills are highly limited. That's Feyre's painting.
The part where Feyre is talking to the weaver is so funny to me because her husband died in battle where he was fighting alongside the summer court, and in the scene where Feyre was getting spicy in battle with Rhysand the book specifically pointed out how she could hear the screams of people on the battle field from the summer court dying. Coincidence? I think not.
Rhys could accidentally stub his toe and he’d be like “Curse you Tamlin”. Like okay we get it, but just constantly attacking him over and over again doesn’t do anything for the story. At this point I wonder if Sarah J. Maas hates Tamlin too.
@@withcindy Honestly that would make so much sense. She was really into this guy while writing the first book, then she got her heart broke or something while she was working on the second book 🤣
16:53) Because the author decided to turn Tamlin into a bastard in order to make Rhysand more appealing. It's a classic yet very stupid trope some authors do. If SJM wanted Rhysand and Feyre together, she could've just had Tamlin and Feyre break up amicably. Mutual breakups happen. People fall out of love. It happens.
@@daniloabaigar5648 yeah, but even the didn’t their breakup have something to do with him having some responsibility in her friends murder? I just feel like SJM doesn’t know how love works, like people can separate without someone doing something awful. Maybe she shot herself in the foot by describing the love between the characters as “unbreakable” or whatever. Just feel like it’s a bad message for teens, teaches people to constantly point the finger at other people when something bad happens.
Seriously, the whole premise of Tamlin and Feyre's relationship was based on trying to break a curse. I wouldn't be surprised if after it all was over they realised that, whilst they like each other, it's not in THAT way. It's actually more believable than what happens in the books. I'd love it if they had simply just realised they didn't work as a couple and parted amicably.

With the amount of shitty books being published nowadays, like this series or another master pieces like Fifty Shades of Grey, I think it's quite hard to write something even shittier. :D
My book is getting published this summer and I'm really sad at the prospect that I'll probably never make as much as the garbage that is some YA books.
@Speckled Legs It's Onision (at least I think you mean that person?) but I think calling him Onion is pretty accurate too, layers of nothing sensible page after page. :D
@@ellie7646 If your book is good, you probably won't. :( It seems that if you want to make good money, you have to write like a 13 year old girl (you just sit and write what comes to your mind or write some fanfic and publish it as a first draft (do not make any changes to make it better - that seems to be contradictory to the goal of making a lot of money!). I wrote one book as a young teen (ages 12-14, so 2 years took to make the first draft) and I wrote in that way - what came to my mind without having some plot in mind/where the story is going - but it was fun to explore without knowing - I really had fun with it and spent many hours writing. But you know what, I somehow managed to wrap it up and actually (for what it was) it kinda became a real sound story at the end. It follows a story of a young wizard whose parents are murdered - and later he founds out that the wizard who arranged all the teachers and everything for him to learn magic, actually also arranged the murder of his parents (it's kinda easier to get someone to depend on you when you murder their parents, right). When he finds out (not very happy about it :D), the wizard takes his sister (non-magic person) hostage in order to make the main character to obey. The main ch. manages to rescue his sister and kills the big bad wizard in the process. And in the end, there was even a set up for a second book. Of course, if I ever wanted to publish it (I'm not planning that), it would have to be completely rewritten and edited heavily but I still think it's way better than f.e. Fifty Shades of Grey, even as a first draft. :D Also, it's not in English but rather a minor language, so it would be even harder to get published and get successful. What's your book about? And congrats that you get to be published. :)
Not to mention, Rhys came and rescued Feyre from her PTSD.....everyone just kinda left Tam to deal with his trama in the worst way possible. I stopped reading before writer could ruin Tam's character for me. He was a good guy in the first book. He, a high lord, bowed, forehead on the ground, to save this bi**h's life from RHYS WHO WAS ABOUT TO MURDER HER. I've never been so disappointed in character undevelopment.
I haven't even read the series, but I still occasionally headcanon ways to help Tamlin, a character I barely know because I just feel so bad for how he was treated throughout the books (both as an individual and a character whose journey and development was under the author's full control).
Literally, I had to stop reading because I liked first book Tamlin. Weirdly enough, of all the characters he's actually the one that felt most like a Faerie to me. Like sure, if you want to break him and Feyre up, go for it- their relationship is based on breaking a curse, I wouldn't be surprised if after it all they realised they didn't actually like each other that way. There's ways to do it. Why not just have it be that he comes away from the relationship a better person, sometimes acts as their ally against the big bad (some interesting awkward tension could be created by their previous relationship) and then eventually finds his own real love?
That book is probably about... 50,000 words or so, ergo it's a normal novel. 50k words is a minimum for fiction. *This bitch made a companion novel out of an epilogue!* 🤣
I have this headcanon that when he can't sleep bc of PTSD (cuz, yknow, he fought in 2 gigantic wars) he just goes to a secret room and starts to hum and make more dresses for Feyre
So, according to SJM, things that are sexy include war camps where people are suffering and dying, being in the presence of SA victims, and thinking about babies. I am so unbelievably disturbed. Like…do we need to notify the FBI?
My question is how did Rhysand's mother know her dress size? Do fairy's parents know their fated mates dress sizes? Or do they magically adjust to the body of the wearer? Am I thinking about this too hard????
He was a little boy and momma here was like: Look son, chose a mate that fits into these, cause I ain't making them again. So at the end Rhysand subcontiusly choose someone who was the size his momma wanted. It's not that his mother knew...he CHOSE based on size. There, mystery solved 🧐😏
Wait, you're telling me that there was a whole other book in this series... and SJM didn't have a single character come out as black? Preposterous! How else will we solve racism??
Lucien already came out as black xddd Well, not him exactly... But, u know, although his skin is not black, right? I get really confused with his description because i though he was white and redhead and suddenly he was black or kinda idk
@@desiii846 Yeah it's really confusiiing all the fanart draws him as a white ginger but then you read the descriptions and he's definitely racially ambiguous like most characters because Maas' rly do be like that D:

I'm feeling like even J Mass is confused about Mor's sexuality? Beacause there are six pages about how Mor don't want to be with men, that's why she didn't wanted to marry a Iris and why she slept with Cassian and also loved this one women who left her, then slept with other men to make Azrael think they will never be together??? As a lesbian I felt like Mass wanted to make Mor a lesbian, but she can't understand idea how someone can don't like sex with men...
@@wonderworld3509 Bisexual can have preference to some gender, but they're still bi, they can want to be with men or women if they find the right one. Mor told Feyra she can't love romanticly and be with males, not just don't want do it. Also she looked kinda bad after night with one male fae and felt bad about it. Sexuality is fluid, yeah, it can look messy, but in my opinion Mass just don't understand it and she made poor reaserch, beacause this is first book where she included good not straight characters (first one was bad lesbian witch who abused her daughter and killed childrens :') ) and she wasn't, too subtle about it.
My thoughts exactly! I'm bi and the whole "I may have sex with men to throw off suspicion but I can never love them!" stick, along with how its noted sex with men makes her sick rubs me the wrong way. Let's admit it, Maas tried and failed at writing a lesbian because she just cannot fathom the idea of women not liking dick.
Exactly!! Instead of saying “I can’t be with Asriel because I’m not attracted to him” she’s like “I can’t be with Asriel because I’m bisexual” and I’m like... but? Like you said, she wrote it as if Mor was a lesbian but Mor admitted to liking sex with men, does she not understand what a LESBIAN is?
I'm so happy my parents don't speak English, because I have no reason to explain why started laughing choking at "I was ready to see some jingle balls"
The more realistic approach: The weaver's stall was rather empty. Only three tapestries laid out for sale. She was sitting empty-eyed and motionless on a wooden stool. "Wow, you must have sold so many today!" Feyra said in amazement. "No," the weaver sighed, "none at all. Those are my old beginner's works. I have no energy to work on new ones." Tears welled up in her eyes and she quickly tried to blink them away. "Usually I would not embarrass myself by putting those up for sale, but I have no money left and I'm hungry."
Losing the most important individual in your life DEFINITELY makes you an instant motivational speaker with the sudden genius to invent entirely new thread colors. You don't run yourself ragged trying to keep your mind off things or get so completely wrecked that you can barely get out of bed or feed yourself. Nope. Coping is immediate and empowering!
I heard about Rhysand climaxing to the image of their future child. I hoped it was a misread or exaggeration. Apparently not. You've suffered enough, Cindy. I read the trilogy and I'm done. You're an intrepid, brave soul.
@@anacpereira5 Cindy talks about the scene toward the end of the video. I think SJM probably intended it to be romantic, Feyre sending Rhys the image of their future child during sex. I imagine the intent was meant to show that Rhys was so moved by the idea of them having a child together, he had an orgasm. Not because he was titilated by the image itself. But it's just weird and ill conceived. (Pun intended.)

ACOSF spoiler ahead for the purpose of shitting on Rhysie:
I was SCREAMING while reading ACOSF when he neglected to tell Feyre giving birth was about to kill her???
ALL THE OPPORTUNITY WASTED...
It happens.
I really wished this was the way she would have went about it. Because how she did Tamlin was not it.
This happened with Chaol and Celaena. No one hated it.
I'd love it if they had simply just realised they didn't work as a couple and parted amicably.

good
With the amount of shitty books being published nowadays, like this series or another master pieces like Fifty Shades of Grey, I think it's quite hard to write something even shittier.
Also, it's not in English but rather a minor language, so it would be even harder to get published and get successful.
Agree 100%
Literally, I had to stop reading because I liked first book Tamlin. Weirdly enough, of all the characters he's actually the one that felt most like a Faerie to me. Like sure, if you want to break him and Feyre up, go for it- their relationship is based on breaking a curse, I wouldn't be surprised if after it all they realised they didn't actually like each other that way. There's ways to do it.
Why not just have it be that he comes away from the relationship a better person, sometimes acts as their ally against the big bad (some interesting awkward tension could be created by their previous relationship) and then eventually finds his own real love?
My guess is that she's fuckable to him, and Tamlin isn't.
Agree. Justice for Tam

Perhaps she is bisexual homoromantic? Although I am not sure SJM knows what that is.
Let's admit it, Maas tried and failed at writing a lesbian because she just cannot fathom the idea of women not liking dick.
im guessing she tried to make mor a lesbian but did it so badly that she made mor bisexual

Oh this comment is glorious
That weaver scene sounded like a person who has never felt grief doing their best person-feeling-grief impression.
LMAOOO
The more realistic approach:
The weaver's stall was rather empty. Only three tapestries laid out for sale.
She was sitting empty-eyed and motionless on a wooden stool.
"Wow, you must have sold so many today!" Feyra said in amazement.
"No," the weaver sighed, "none at all. Those are my old beginner's works. I have no energy to work on new ones."
Tears welled up in her eyes and she quickly tried to blink them away. "Usually I would not embarrass myself by putting those up for sale, but I have no money left and I'm hungry."
Wow, just like the 6-page long word vomit of a person who isn't gay doing their best "coming out as gay" impression!
Losing the most important individual in your life DEFINITELY makes you an instant motivational speaker with the sudden genius to invent entirely new thread colors.
