Really nice trip. That is the best mentality to have when coming down to fish the Keys, not targeting anything and happy with everything. It can be tough and frustrating when you have too high of expectations. Spend a day getting your rod bent on anything that bites then target the hard stuff as it can be few and far in between, if that. Good job.
+Key West Kayak Fishing thanks man I'll return some day and spend a little more time trying to find some more interesting fish, I checked out your channel, wish I'd found it before I I went down there haha
Sea-Money Fishing When the wind is blowing like that, there is nothing much you can do about it. Always remember, there are guys paying $500-1000 for a day of fishing and they might not even have caught as much as you did.
I followed canal and Rt 41 on google maps to the spillway were you caught bowfins etc.. It was neat to see right where your journey took you. The day the google car went by - the fields behind canal were ON FIRE. I've been enjoying your videos and thanks for sharing you fishing adventures.
nice job man keep it up I love watching your videos and they inspire me to be a better fisherman thank you so much for when you catch them and tell us the names it's really handy
Very cool spots, even if the big ones eluded you. It sucks that the wind wasn't cooperating; I guess you'll have to go back and try again! Thanks for the vid!
Cool video! Just want to clear something up. Those snakes where not coming or chasing you, they were just looking for a nice place to rest on since resting on an object in the water is safer than the bank, in this case they choose your kayak (maybe they even smelled some fishy residue on your hand or kayak). Also I am pretty sure that both of them were some species of watersnake (Nerodia sp. ) and completely harmless. Thank you for not harming them! :-)
I grew up going to the keys, there used to be huge Cudas, size of torpedos, last time I was there I caught my PB snapper and a nice yellow Jack, I love it there.
Just incase you wanna know, I found an amazing way to catch the parrot fish. Throw oatmeal as chum and they devour it. Use a very small size 1 hook and stick oatmeal on it and bam. It's too easy.
Awesome video man! Heading to Fort Lauderdale in June fishing freshwater and saltwater! Your videos are helping me get an idea of what it's like. Can't wait for the next part!!!!
Could you imagine living on one of those properties right on that canal? That'd be the life, man. Just go into your backyard whenever you feel like fishing. Easy as that.
+Retz That would be the good life, its funny I didn't see anyone fishing off their backyard docks. Everyone has 250k$ boats down there though so I dont think they do much lagoon fishing haha
You are right. I have family in summerland and they always fish offshore and are after the really big fish. They are always surprised when I bring up snapper, jack, and barracuda from their canal. The fishing is good down there for sure.
the little canal that you were at with the top water lure and caught the barracuda is that in islamorada and were there a lot of jelly fish. if you would have kept going straight you would have seen a house with two red wave runners and an everglades boat with a little dinghy that is my house the snook are great at night and the nurse sharks are great in early morning.
Awesome vids dude I don't do this type of fishing I'm mainly a carp and cat fisherman but u can't beat that run just hearing it on your vids gives me that buzz
great videos, planning to visit my mom in July this year, gonna try to hit the canals after watching your videos, recommendation for backup charging power is a solar charger, they come wit the battery or without, 5000ma/> rating is best.wishing I was there lol
Good lures to use down there are rapala floating minnows, drone spoons, and Zara spooks or bdonk Adonks. But always try to match the hatch and catch live bait. It pays off
Hey man, it's Kevin. I'm loving the vids dude. I think you were right about the full moon making stuff act funky haha. I haven't had a snake act like that to me before or since we went out, let alone two. Plus the fish just weren't right that day either. You'll have to come back down and we can do a proper day chasing snook and peas.
Your videos are awesome bro! I live over in Pennsauken and have a few spots around my way that hold some monster Largemouth (2-5lbs on average) that I'd be happy to share with you for your channel. Keep up the good work!
i think the first snake was water mocassin. Growing up in Florida we would see them everywhere and they are super aggressive and have been known to chase people and also very venomous
Hi according to what I saw in the video that snake is swimming as a water snake and no like a cotton mouth.. but like I always say to my kids,, if u see a snake in or close to the water and you cant tell the difference right away.. the best think to do is just leave it alone. Normally they no chasing humans unless they been attacked. Cool trip next time come to central Fl by Kissimmee chain of lakes or St Johns river.. its pretty good fishing down here. :)
hey man moist snook/tarpon that sit under lights only pretty much eat flys, flair hawks, bucktails, and live bait. the really big ones are almost impossible to get.
oh man. i want to come fishing in florida. it looks like the paradise :D here in germany we need to work hard for every single fish. greetings from germany :)
I have 80 pound braid and 6 inch steel leaders for florida, lost a huge fish last year on normal 20 pound line and it pissed me off. I save my 8 - 20 pound line/small reel for the ponds and my big reel/line for saltwater. I'm almost in florida, and I'm exited!!!
+ella hughes damn your really cute and you fish, i can't even be asked right now. i need a girl like you in michigan, take her to st.clair and just chill for a day. ugh michigan sucks :/
+Faithlez I live in Michigan 😂 Michigan doesn't suck!! (well, other than Detroit, flint, Pontiac) I fish torch lake and Higgins lake when I go there in the summer! lake st. Clair is awesome for Muskie I've heard, but I've never fished it.
damn looks like a blast all kinds of diff fish, I thought you where gonna bail out when that snake all most came in lol you did better then me I would have hooked it an beat it off the water cause Ive never seen a cotton mouth an Its either him or me looks like heaven either way though
I appreciate you being catch and release, but that grouper would have been headed for the fry pan if it was me!!! Mangrove snapper is pretty good eating too... I fish for meat and for my aquariums.
if you find your way near jackson county in north florida. i know some excellent places for you to take your kayak. i could even show you and help transport your kayak to certain places. just a thought. i went wading yesterday and caught 38 sunfish/bass/suckers
Ha, that little snake is a harmless water snake (genus Nerodia). In heavily trafficked areas, they will try to jump up into boats like they were moving islands. They also sometimes learn to associate fishing activity with fish, and may follow boats for that reason like sea gulls.
I might be mistaken but those snappers under the dock are mangrove jacks. but don't quote me because I'm not sure but I think there jacks. otherwise love your cannel keep it up dude
Dude I'm from Cape May live in NYC but grew up fishing also in the Keys. Go try Everglades City though. You like hitting multiple species, when I was about 17 I got 9 species in one day. I couldn't imagine how much more fun it would be on a Hobie. 10,000 Islands are unbelievable. Check it out and if you do go target "Square Grouper" hahaha
I saw it...looked like a bonefish, but that's a way wrong place for that! I was fast, though, moving fore to aft. Maybe a mullet?...they run in canals and way up river, here in Alabama.
Hey man, don't tell anyone, but if you want crazy action close to shore in Florida come down during mid June to August. We get runs of baitfish right on the beach much like you do up north. TONS of snook, tarpon, and monster jacks swimming along right next to the beach. Come to Delray Beach on the ocean side and you'll have the time of your life.
+RikkiTikkiTavi that sounds pretty epic, I've seen the mullet vids from blacktiph and those schools are unbelievable... hope to be down there some time when it goes off!!
Hint on Cottonmouths........they float on the surface (their whole body) unlike most other types of snakes. Most likely it was a Banded Water Snake(google it).
I noticed you were losing a lot of soft plastics. If you want some good single hook jigs, look up Bowed Up Lures and order some zig jigs. They walk the dog like gotcha plugs and you don't have to mess with treble hooks.
Love your fishing videos . they are pretty cool ... i am visiting florida until sunday and would like to link up to fish! i have plenty of gear to share please respond! -Jeric Smith

Just want to clear something up.

Yeah me 2
I had to improvise one time and use black electrical tape, never thought I'd catch any but I coughts a few 15 inchers
Just incase you wanna know, I found an amazing way to catch the parrot fish. Throw oatmeal as chum and they devour it. Use a very small size 1 hook and stick oatmeal on it and bam. It's too easy.
Thanks so much! I'm from Michigan and will be taking a trip with my friend down in sanibel! Will be using that line and those artificial bates.

Dude. I love your vids so much. Please keep making them this awesome😂!
Come back around September, when the bait fish show up... and the winds die down and waters are warmer... tons of tarpon and snook.
the little canal that you were at with the top water lure and caught the barracuda is that in islamorada and were there a lot of jelly fish. if you would have kept going straight you would have seen a house with two red wave runners and an everglades boat with a little dinghy that is my house the snook are great at night and the nurse sharks are great in early morning.
it's awesome all the different species there in Florida it's cool 👍🎣
another nice video. I should maybe one day drive down as well with my kayak lol..
Awesome!!!!! Man you caught what you was going after ! I subD still watching 9 mins into vid
Awesome vids dude I don't do this type of fishing I'm mainly a carp and cat fisherman but u can't beat that run just hearing it on your vids gives me that buzz
Wow nice kayak with the paddles

At 15:10 something interesting looking swims right under your hand, right when you say "slammed." Any thoughts on what that is?
+Tom King holy crap youre right! I have no idea what that is, never noticed it. some kind of ghost fish, thats for sure...
+Sea-Money Fishing I think its a catfish.

+Nicholas Wiseguy agreed, looks like one
+Tom King Remora maybe?

Been waiting for day 3 lol checking everyday
Do you record with a GoPro? If so, what kind? Sorry if you have addressed this question before.
i think the first snake was water mocassin. Growing up in Florida we would see them everywhere and they are super aggressive and have been known to chase people and also very venomous
That grouper was a back grouper. They get huge, into the 100/200+ pound range. You did awesome!
That'd be a Goliath grouper. It may have been gag or black. I'm unsure though
Nick Hubert Nah, goliath can get to 800.
yes they can. I had no idea blacks can get that large.
Nick Hubert Yeah, I caught one at 136 last year in the keys. It was pretty cool.
FinTech Custom Spearguns thats insane. My biggest grouper is like a 30 lbs goliath...just a wee lil baby lol.
Man, that eagle was cool!
Hi according to what I saw in the video that snake is swimming as a water snake and no like a cotton mouth.. but like I always say to my kids,, if u see a snake in or close to the water and you cant tell the difference right away.. the best think to do is just leave it alone. Mabel you should try using a liter so they wont break you off as bad
Dam when that grouper almost snatched the rod outta your hands 😂
oh man. i want to come fishing in florida. it looks like the paradise :D here in germany we need to work hard for every single fish. greetings from germany :)
You still have to work to catch fish in Florida some days I catch nothing other days I catch lots of fish
Nice Grouper!! Don't normally catch them inshore
I have 80 pound braid and 6 inch steel leaders for florida, lost a huge fish last year on normal 20 pound line and it pissed me off. I save my 8 - 20 pound line/small reel for the ponds and my big reel/line for saltwater. I'm almost in florida, and I'm exited!!!

he was about to hop out his kayak 😂😂😂
18:20 omg i died "why is it chasing me"
Sweet channel, man!
your videos makes me regret moving out of miami. I use to find fishing relaxing.
Rough bite! Snook and tarpon have lock jaw during the day time. The ticket is fishing the bridges at night.
tarpon can be caught in the shallow lagoons/flats around February or March, but flats fishing is brutal in 25-30mph wind
your a brave man for de-hooking those cuda with your bare hands.
looks like fun but sometimes the grass ain't always greener in the other yard
Its true... you can catch anything in Florida... thats why people love us :)
wow this video is great so much fish in florida i live in socal and its nothing like this ..
love your channel
This guy is so accurate with his casts
It looks sooo fun.
Dude I'm from Cape May live in NYC but grew up fishing also in the Keys. Go try Everglades City though. You like hitting multiple species, when I was about 17 I got 9 species in one day. Down in the Keys check out 7 mile, Vaca Cut, and Bahia Honda in the Marathon area. Loaded with edible fish
you're missing out on these 70 degree days up here in jersey man
looks like you caught a baby black grouper
Great vids man. I'm jealous
I love these saw all of em
I'm from Northern California and you guys got some freaky shit down in Florida.
Red snapper are good eating and easy to catch
Amazing mate
Mbuna Marcus - Aquariums, Cichlids and More
15:10 you can see something near the boat in the water can anyone tell me what it is ? On the left of his hands replay a few times
I saw it...looked like a bonefish, but that's a way wrong place for that! I was fast, though, moving fore to aft. Maybe a mullet?...they run in canals and way up river, here in Alabama.
this summer this size barracuda were all over the place, i have caught 2-3 kg every day but tey ruined some of my lures with their sharp teeth
7:02 I would have shit my pants 😂😂
Your video inspired me to wright a poem . HOPING FOR TARPON ,HOPING FOR SNOOK HOPING FOR ANYTHING THAT WILL BITE MY HOOK
