- so thankful for all the perfect getaways near seoul - we really loved this little weekend escape to yangpyeong and highly recommend it :')
we took the Gyeongui-jungang line from Sangbong station to Jipyeong station and then took a taxi to the airbnb! It took about An hour and and 45 min total!

The color of hydrangeas depends on the pH of the soil they live in! Low pH will make them blue, higher pH makes them pink. :)

I love it! We definitely need to get our husbands to take a break. I have the same issue with my husband. But he never really grew up taking vacations, whereas my family and I did. So he’s gotten a lot better since we were first married over 22 years ago, but I find that he is getting older and as a result, he just wants to kind of chill a little bit closer to home. Now he’s looking forward to travelling with just the two of us. I think that treehouse is fantastic! So much nature. I love it!

That is so cool. You're a good wife! Glad Kurt got a chance to relax--so important. Not going to lie though when the video said, "Boy who is very afraid of bugs trying to enjoy nature" and then focused on a dragonfly, kinda thought the next shot was going to be Kurt halfway up a tree or something. :-) Enjoy, you two!

And you can change the colour if you treat them with stuff. Like for blue you can put the copper coin in the ground if i am not mistaken
you are right: Hydrangea is a big culture and needs soil with a low PH value to stay alive. Naturally, Hydrangeas are either pink or even white-ish and you have to water them with special Aluminium sulfate fertilizer to keep them in a dark blue colour they are known for. That's why most people are surprised that their blue hydrangeas from the year before bloom in a different colour.

Oh my gosh having a whole themed month of little fun activities is so cute and creative! I’m working on doing more intentional, nice things for myself in spare time (rather than the mindless scrolling between subscription services). I don’t know if I can do a whole month of themed events but maybe I’ll do this on a weekend ☺️🏴☠️

I also have really toxic productivity problems, sometimes I wont even let myself sleep then I hit a burn out period and don't work on my goals for a week, I've never though about resting as a part of the process, only as a reward after? therefor just torturing myself? Back in lockdown times I came here to comment that I was nervous about graduating and not having a job, and then months later I came back with tears in my eyes to tell you I finally had a job. From all the vlogs I’ve watched, Incheon has always been my favourite place. I dream of living there and i always revisit your Incheon vlogs but holy smacks, i cant believe Incheon has been dethroned??? THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING. Korea is such a beautiful country. Also, this might be your top 2 vlogs. Well shot and well edited.The train going there is so beautiful, i cant get enough of the beautiful greenary. Definitely my most favourite vlog. A perfect place to visit when you need to rest. Argh i cant get enough. I cant imagine how stunning the trehouse must be when its raining and you reading. amazing as always ❤💚

11:54 yes, it depends of the acidity of the soil. More basic soil gives you pink and more acidic gives you blue.

Love your treehouse vacation....Hydrangea macrophylla ( the pink or blue variety) ...the flower color indicates the pH of the soil. In strongly acid soil (pH below 6), flowers turn blue. In alkaline soil (pH above 7), flowers turn pink . Those are hydrangeas each side of the steps but the blue flowers ?.....they look like small flat hydrangeas but why are they blue and the others pink? same soil? ....a mystery, like the birds, ...very pretty though.

the magpies made living up in the tree a little scary because they were so loud and angry but it was fun hahahah
My grandparents had this huge hydrangea that would be different colors all the time, blue then light pink then magenta, you never knew what color it would be each year or sometimes it would change in the same season. But it was never white, I think white ones stay white.
Guilty as hell for resting and not doing anything but always grateful for the reminders.
