So much waiting below! I'm certified 30 years, getting gear ready now. Good luck and great video! It takes guts to go into deep ends and deep pockets. Always dive with a buddy on the surface, no matter if it's just one diver, or five. I used to tie a line to my dive belt(so it can be dropped instantly if snagged) and secure it on the bank to go into pockets with currents. There can be big logs in there, huge gar, snappers, gators, snakes..lo l(As I'm sure you well know). Make sure to disinfect your ears after each dive. If I could afford a full face mask, I'd get one. I'm gonna get one, it's on the list. One with a radio is obviously the best if you have the $ ;-) Great job getting into it... it's there, under the muck. Remember, the muck layers have trapped all kinds of nasty crap, I believe there are rules in different states for disturbing the bottom for this reason. That's why elbows are important, it's concentrated in a small area= less disturbed crap. My pop was a commercial diver in Costa Rica, he had a BARNACLE attach to the inside of his ear! This was salt water, but point is, there are things in that water. Rivers and creeks(even the gulf) you must think about runoff locally. Some places are high in fecal coliform bacteria because of properties on the rivers that have dogs, leaking septic, farm runoff, etc. It's always good to test water you will be diving in regularly, it doesn't cost much. Always looking forward to your videos!
@@adventurearchaeology I came face to face with a 6' Gar once, under a huge log...lucky for me, and it, that we met. It had fishing line wrapped completely around its jaws. I cut it off with my dive knife(always have sharp)...it let me, I think it was tired and hungry. It took off right away. When I saw it though...holy crap. I was fanning the bottom, silt rising up, and as it cleared, the teeth of the Far were 12" from my mask. Opening and closing the little bit it could. Thing was huge. Almost made a coprolite in my wetsuit!
Think that will make a cool video of you and Matt getting together. You put in a lot of effort to make videos for each week. And it shows. Thanks for sharing Brandon.
Cool video Brandon! One of the things Randy and I discovered early on about those deep holes is they're deep for a reason. If the water is moving with enough force to blow those holes out deep as they are then there's enough force to blow any light stuff out of the hole. Of course we are hunting for arrowheads and not bottles so that may not not apply to your situation. Good luck to yall.
i often day dream about what it would be like if you could just magically drain all the water out of a creek/river and also remove all the plastic. bottles galore! great video, look forward to seeing you guys with scuba gear and what you can find. i liked the banjo music too
Maybe you should try fishing underwater. Try gummy worms fish really like them. And twizzlers. Fish love them. I'm just a Texas girl who likes hunting and fishing.
between you all and the DitchWalker..im seriously concidering walking the creek in my area its a small Knox co Knoxville TN town surrounded by creeks,RailRoad cliffs and all that good stuff wish me luck..
you need at least a snorkel and fins. Keep up the good work. That creek and river water is shaded and so a lot colder than the pools, or ocean. Be safe guys.
What??? That viz was GREAT! Comparatively to what we’ve got, that’s like diving in the Bahamas. 😂. Thanks for the shout out to Gone Diggin and I hope I can be a part of the collab.
You say it's harder than it looks but it does look easy to do in your video, I would just end up drifting away with the current lol. Some nice finds you pulled up too ATB GL & HH LittleJohn_MD 🇬🇧
Great video my friend. Great place for a canoe and some supplied air setup. Check out our latest video on dig dogs channel where we are using scuba tanks in our canoe with a 30’ hose. Should get scuba certified first though. No telling whats down in the deep holes. We use 16lb weight belts and literally walk or crawl the bottom with and without detectors with canoes in tow to come up and put our finds in. We met Matt with gone digging at DIV this year yall will have fun with some scuba gear too. I personally like the supplied air and hose in the creeks and small rivers because its super easy to bail out and surface if you get in trouble. No fins needed you just walk or crawl the bottom and fan the silt out of the way. Its awsome fun👍😀. HH Tim
So in a near future video, you're gonna break out some crazy looking modified metal detector that can somehow detect buried glass? Ha jk, but could you imagine how useful something like that would be not just for bottle hunting but for public water use safety. I'm really curious as to what the invention is gonna be. Looking forward to its debut.
What is your email add., I have something I want to make and send to you, and discuss. This is something you will be alright with! Works well for me anyway.

Do it!
Great video. Enjoyed the narrative and music :) Keep us updated on your project.
It will be shown next Friday!
I like the diving footage. And who knows, the next swimming hole might be jam packed with Hutches. HH
That is very true!
Looks like you definitely need scuba gear or a long snorkel lol. Enjoyed watching and looking forward to seeing your next adventure. Take care.
Lol no doubt!

Thanks Mary! We are working on getting into scuba diving but man all of that gear is EXPENSIVE haha!

You know your more than welcome! Im not sure how yall see through that chocolate milk yall dive in hahaha!
Wish I knew how to swim that looks like fun!
Never too late to learn!
@@adventurearchaeology for me it is I almost drowned when I was 13 and I'm 51 now and scared to death of the water!
Wish the water here in Australia was that clear.
Keep your eyes above the water, and use an underwater viewer bucket, to see easily through the surface glare and riffles.
The viewer bucket is on my to do list for sure!
Keep it up man won't be long you'll get one good videos
I hope so!
Loving the vids as always mate. That was a great Corona bottle. Did you find the lime slice? 😀
Lol! Sadly no!
You were just swimming upstream to get clearer water! Ha! Salmon do the same thing, but they are spawning.
Exactly!
Definitely a great deal of history in this area. Maybe yall won't run across that huge alligator snapping turtle.
I hope not!
First thing to get is a weight belt. The work factor really drops when your buoyancy is neutral. Yes, I got whiskers, been diving 55 years
Im am really wanting to get into it..... but it seems to be a bit pricey 😂!
Have you ever thought about taking the nice broken ones and cutting the tops off with a wet saw to make glasses?😺
We have..... only problem is the fact that people want to use dishwashers and these old bottles dont like the extreme heat!
Why are there so many bottles is the creek. Is there an old dump around. Or is it from litterbugs???? Thx
They used this creek as a dump at the turn of the century!
Wow, sad. Thanks for i the info. Happy treasures, really enjoy ur vids.
oh no the boys are at dueling banjos area/lol. great finds guys.by the way whats the tune playing during your under water segment?
Lol we were way out for sure!
I find it odd that the only living swimming thing we see here is Clayton. Are there no fish?
No there is fish but apparently they are very skidish!
You say it's harder than it looks but it does look easy to do in your video, I would just end up drifting away with the current lol. Some nice finds you pulled up too

Your not far off........ haha
6:55 Horseshoe?
The areas in which you dig what is the oldest bottle ??
Most areas dont got past 1900. We have a couple that produce some late 1880s but not many.
Can you tell a new be how to find bottle dumps please help thank you
ruclips.net/video/DEkF2MT5JlI/видео.html
I made that mistake years ago looking for old bottles , shoeless. Should have been wearing sneaks for protection. Stepped on a broken bottle. No fun.
I bet!
Cool video. Are you on eBay as southern diggers?
I am!
Ok I thought so. Did you finally find a Mobile bottle or is that just something you had in your collection?
@@christophermason8151 Thats actually Claytons bottle haha! Not sure where he got it!
That's cool. I wouldn't mind having it but I need to stop buying stuff. Unless it's just a bottle that I have to have. Lol.
Should at least add a snorkel to your gear and I guess you could fill your pockets with rocks for a weight belt...LOL
Lol just couldnt see enough from the surface for a snorkel.
Are Coca lulas are supposed be Coca-Cola copycats? Looks a lot like a straight sided coke.
They are copy cats and were sued by coca cola!
This video will get deleted, clayton has a shirt on in the start!
LOL
