Man I was just gonna come and suggest Mourning Glory, figured this guy would like it too with that backing instrumental. 8 1/2 might be a good one too, and of course Lazarus for pure lyrical skill.
With as much as I’ve searched reactions to him, I’m blown away this didn’t pop up until now. Dude is far and away the best lyricist alive and I’d put his prose against ANYONE.
It's from the movie Talk To Me (SPOILERS) it plays at the end when the main character, a girl tries to find her mother who committed suicide through the use of Necromancy using a dead hand, Ghosts and Demons start to torment and gaslight her and she slowly loses her sanity, her estranged father and her best friend, in the end she gets killed when one of the Ghosts tricks her resulting in her getting run over in a car, she now awakens as a Ghost in Purgatory, she sees the living world move on and forget about her, she sees her dad go on to presumed Heaven while she is stuck, then she sees a hand reach out, and awakens in a normal room and sees a guy whose doing the same thing she did when she was alive, using the hand to contact the dead...the end, it's presumed that her addiction and obsession and grief will lead her to an eternity of loneliness in Purgatory forever unable to see her family again.
Think the movie "Canadian Alygator" was referring to is a horror movie called "Talk to me" (Great movie. Highly recommend it. Available on Prime). They used this song in the movie and I also got addicted because of it LOL. My favorite rhyme has to be "They say I got a way with words - It never gave me worth but still I got away with worse" 🔥🔥🔥
i heard it from talk to me yesterday and had to use music recognition to find the song. hes got some of the best writing ive heard from a rapper. 1 of my favourite lines i heard from him was "you know the drill, srewdrivers to get me railed, until im hammered enough to fall asleep on beds of nails" from save yourself
I recommend you start at Balancing Act and work your way to his current release called Oblivion Theater. His verses on his appearance tracks are also fire. With sadistik every album sounds like its own piece of art. I would do entire album reviews if you like his stuff , his fans show up and even he has shown up on the live chats.
Sadistik was a friend/student of Eyedea before the latter’s passing The pain fueled his writing and by GOD does his pen show his gifts. Mourning Glory, Lazarus, Daisies and Saints are all good places to start with him, primarily the first two.
