I just bought the suscription for the viewfinder 3D model, and now it's not available, but YOU DO charge me anyway. If I want to use it I need to suscribe to another plan... Maybe I'm not really finding the option, because, AS ALWAYS, the tutorials are old.... I'm going to ask for a refund if I can't find it.
I sure wish you would consider doing a video exclusively on how to use the Picture Viewfinder. To me it seems as it was really somewhat lightly treated in this video and it is pretty clear that it can be a quite powerful tool for planning shots. I want to be able to go to a location, take a photo or photos of the scene and then work on a plan for a later shot using those photos. Right now it is not exactly clear to me how to best do that. Thanks - great app!!
The picture viewfinder is probably the most advanced feature. That's why we didn't record any videos exclusively about this feature -- too much to cover. The short answer is you need to know the camera location, the focal length, the elevation angle and the azimuth, set them correctly. Then you can use the picture as the picture viewfinder to do all future plans.
Thank you for these explanations, otherwise most of these great features of the app would be unknown to me. Just one wish: Could you pls. reduce the volume of the intro sound by half, as it is horribly loud.
Hi there I tried using the Picture Viewfinder to create plans. However, while trying to calibrate the focal length of the picture, there is no discernible difference in the image while moving the overlay around - this would only be accurate if the focal length was already correct; I can assure you that it was not. What am i doing wrong? Thanks for any reply
You need to know the focal length of the image and set it. The image won’t change when you change the focal length because it assume whatever you set is the correct focal length for that image
@@PlanItPhoto Please look at point 9:30 of the video where the overlay is being moved around. The overlay does not matchup with the image so he concludes that the focal length, as set, is incorrect, so he resets it from 160 mm to something like 45 mm and tries again. Once he gets the overlay to match better, he assumes that that focal length is the correct one and he proceeds further into the calibration process. Well, I am doing exactly what he did, however, in my case the overlay NEVER shows that the images do not match.Again, that indicates to me that the focal length of the photo that I am trying to use matches WHATEVER focal length was already set in the system, which is definitely not the case. Am I doing something wrong here, what am I missing?
Why is it that you respond once, i respond to your response saying that it basically does not address what I am talking about, and then you failed to respond again? Is that the end of the matter?
Sorry I didn’t notice you replied again. Changing the focal length will change the terrain/markers overlay as long as there are terrain or markers in the view. It won’t change the picture because we change the focal length to match the picture. My first reply was to answer your question but it is kind of difficult to explain.
My google maps is not locating half dome in planit. But it is locating on google maps itself. I see normal google maps in planit, but it is showing a location like half doom? Am i doing something wrong.
What do you mean by locating half domr? Searching? Searching is using a different search engine which may not have all the locations as Google has. It can be changed in the settings. Google search is one of the choices there but you need to apply a key in order to use it
@@coconuthair Search and Map are two different things. By default, we use an open source search which is not as good as google search. If you want to use google search, go to menu - settings - service provider, change it to google. However, you need to apply a key and enter it below in the settings. It shows the link where you can apply and instructions.
This is not the same planit app ..as i installed As i cant get any of those icons when i touch the viewfinder icon wtf 😡 Are you on i phone or summit 🤔

Amazing feature. Can’t get the shadow profile to “lock” once I get the focal adjusted and set/saved. What am I missing?
I guess you refer to the picture VR. If yes, I didn't implement the lock function which is something I plan to do but never got the time to do it.

Glad it helps. I will make the intro volume lower. Thanks for the suggestion

We mentioned what's going on with the streetview when you click on the streetview button.
