Mount Rinjani, an active volcano and one of Indonesia's revered "Seven Summits," It has long ignited the dreams of many hikers including me eager to conquer its ancient heights. However, this majestic mountain bestows a famous quote: "To ascend its peaks, one must take two steps up with one step down." As we venture into this exploration, we shall confront the volcano's raw power, marking our most challenging ascent to date.

Your posting makes me miss this mountain. Hiked Mt Rinjani twice..for me both were the time to see the Creator magnificent power and to see we are nothing to face the nature. The most regretful thing that Rinjani is now full of trash scattered everywhere. At the Basecamp Pelawangan, otw to Lake Segara Anak, at Lake Segara Anak...and even at the lunch break area otw to Torean. Hopefully the locals will care for nature more. Rinjani is not only for moneymaking. Rinjani is a gift of nature that human need to take care

i have been hike in Rinjani several years ago and i really know the pain 😁 .. but for me the best reward after RInjani hike in Lombok are Take a bath Hot Spring in Segara Anak and chill, reflexy foot massage for several days in Gili Trawangan..Did you go to Gili T after hike in RInjani ? Btw your documentary are amazing. If you like hiking, Central Java is one of the best in Java. You can start from Wonosobo : Mount Sumbing, Mount SIndoro and DIeng Plateau. Or Mount Merbabu and Mount Merapi.
Yeah the hot spring definitely the most rewarding!! But too bad we didn't go to Gilli T.. Hopefully we got the chance to visit next time😁😁😁

Been there twice in the 90s.
Back then Rinjani relatively unknown. Most of the times there were less then 20 hikers at the whole Rinjani.
In my 1st expedition only 6 of us the whole 4 days journey in the mountain, we never met another person along the way. My 2nd visit there were less then 30 hikers on the trail the whole journey.
Rinjani was the most beautiful volcano I ever climb.
