Lots to do……and you want everything done ASAP. Once I was the same way - forty years later - I might do something tomorrow. These are “YOUR” days and you are enjoying being you. I call that “PERFECT”.
"Tip of the day" ... when hauling heavy, swinging items like your Septic Tank (or even towing a vehicle), run a chain slightly shorter than the dead plumb angle thru a piece of pipe (even chain link pipe) and it will minimize the swing; for a vehicle, best to put an old tire at each end to absorb the bounce. Great video and very insightful. Thanks Captain !!!
"It'll be fine", and "words are hard" MUST be the slogans printed on the next t-shirt, sweatshirt run!!! Your therapist aproach makes me smile everytime!!! #spiritanimal
Never underestimate the capabilities of the 120. The monstrous rocks that it has picked up and moved even surprised DP! Another big step on the youtube Yacht project accomplished!
When I sold my home in Massachusetts, by law I had to upgrade the septic system. Originally built in the 50's, it comprised a 500 gallon steel septic tank and a very large cesspool that overflowed to the creek. The new septic system required upgrading my electrical system to power a pump up system, the removal of many trees in the yard, and then a certified install. It cost $20,000. While this is a big bite, I was happy that the system was completely replaced, as it was both an ecological disaster and an electrical danger. My parents had cleared the mortgage decades earlier. I never saw it complete because I had already moved to the West Coast.
My Grandfather told me way back that if I ever do any plumbing that hot is on the left and cold is on the right and you know what, runs down hill. 😀 Good video Captain! Enjoyed it.
I've been a plumber in the sanfransisco back area and I have never installed a septic system I've done quite a few houses with septic systems but always put a laborer with the backhoe nice job
Excellent job Mike and we really couldn’t tell you were excited 😆. If you just bought yourself a pair of clippers and buzzed your hair down yourself you’d have more time to work on projects, just saying.
Cap’n, could you please act a bit more pleased about the progress? If I didn’t know better I’d think you were more excited about making your haircut appointment, than the install!!! Now, about that Presbyterian system… did you have a minister come by and sprinkle some water on it? Or, did the church just defer to the inspection ritual for its blessing? One can’t be too careful about doing every thing correctly, when they are about dump bilge water from a landlocked yacht! I am posting that video about my neighbors homemade wood splitter this morning. We call it Frankensplitter. It makes your log winch look like it was factory built!! Sir, you did an excellent job of installation. And a remarkable job of filming too!
I don’t know about the minister, but he’s got a brother that volunteers to “prime” the septic system and get it flowing , so to speak, once the cabin is complete.
Its always the stuff you never see thats costs big money, drainage, plumbing, electrics ,footings and some folks don't even know they exist as the never see them installed .Great job on the installation ,as a once one man operation I know how hard it is.👌👍
Not only are the number on both sides of the tape but the orientation of the numbers on the back are set for taking elevation, works great with a transit 😁👍have to say the tape isn't the only thing with common sense solutions. Keep up the great work Capt.
Awesome video and awesome job. I agree with someone else's comment that you would have been a great teacher for any grade. Your patience with children is something not all young fathers have. I think it's beautiful. I was a husband and a father at 18. Things were easier. I was a grandfather at 36. And now I'm retired in my 60s and have great grandkids. Love watching you and your family. Love your videos and your family videos. Keep doing what you are doing. Follow your dreams. God bless you and your family.
Gopro should replace any gopro camera that breaks that they still sell on their website. My hero3 broke after a good 10years use didn't get a free replacement but I did get a 20% discount if I bought a new one and returned the broken one
Watching you move the tree stump makes me want to see you, Dirt Perfect, Letsdig 18 and Logger Wade in "Excavator Olympics" There could be events like "the stump toss" for distance, "Throw the rock in a hoop" , speed digging and more. What do you and others think?
How about ring toss with old tires onto a wooden post beyond the reach of the bucket. (Scored by number of ringers and time.) Setting water bottles upside down on traffic cones using those cheap Wal-Mart water bottles might be a good test. (Scored by hit the target, no crush.) Pivoting the tracks 180 degrees over paper cups of water setting against the center outside edge of the track. (Scores on distance from centerline at the finish as well as no crush or spill.) Picking up horseshoes with the teeth and dropping them over a pin… no thumb allowed. The pin is just inside the maximum folded bucket reach and 90 degrees from pickup. (Scores as 3= ringer and 1=closer than a shoe opening.) O’ there are so many things they can do!
After watching DP winding up the volvo and MBTS filming the results recently I think that's a good idea. I'd put Capt K as favourite for the gold in the 'cooking breakfast with the 120' even with the added hinderance of the egg thief any day of the week.
Great Job Captain. You took the time to think things out and explain the process. Makes it seem like anyone can do something if they put their mind to it. Can't wait for the follow up video's.
Great video even if it leaves you feeling pooped. Yupp. I went there. Part of what makes your videos enjoyable is the Dad jokes. I tell you. You either get them or you’re not a Dad. 🤷🏻♂️ Either way tanks for entertaining us.
Heh, I was already thinking someone needed to hard surface those teeth mounts before you mentioned MBTS. Also thinking that my luck there would have been a big yellow jacket nest under that first stump...
It’s really great to have a mix of old equipment with no computers and def that runs good , definitely dependable as he has kept them in good shape , the 120 and the 850 .
Hey Mike a tip for getting stumps to rot quicker after removing the stump plunging your saw into the middle of the root one time promotes faster rot after you cover it up with mulch. 👈🤓👍
Captain you really need to have a word with 'future Mike'. He keeps stealing your lines. 🤣🤣 Really enjoyed the video and progress on the RUclips Yacht. Cheers Michael (from Scotland)
You know hes made it when he has a milwake tape measure lol That poor little 120 struggled with stumping. Makes me relieved that my 973c just tears through everything i can throw at it.
The new Olympic Septic Pipe Throw....FAIL LOL Mike, speaking of the sawmill, you should think about cutting the stumps into 2 inch cookies... they make great stepping stones for pathways...
Nice install. We have to have a state engineered septic here in Vermont also. Has risen the price of a septic system drastically. Up here to have one installed if you can’t do yourself you are looking at $20-30000.
Totally impressed with how well and fast you do your projects by yourself! And create such entertaining videos at the same time. I look forward to each of your new releases. Be safe.
Great job my friend can't wait to see the finished product on that RUclips yacht like all the other projects you have on going to take care hope you and your family stay safe keep kicking out the great episodes I find them very interesting and enjoy every single one so far thank you 👍😆
Big step completed, and before the end of October deadline!!! Educational and informative, shame the go pro decided to be a stop pro for you..... 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Watching YOU make ME happy! 👍 😁 Great progress! You make it looks so easy. I would suggest that on the next field you get some 'trained' pipes! 🤔 They will cost more but they will stay where you put them instead of rolling off the 'level' sand!! 😱
excellent video! Is there any truth to the rumor that DP loves the 120 as much as Jack on Gold Rush loves his beloved 400 excavator? Asking for a friend! LOL
The Septic is lookin good .Captain. I put alot of those in by myself back in the day. At least you didnt have to have a 2nd tank and electric pump to pump gray water into Sand mound. They had to buy property across the road just for the sand mound .The people that dream those things up, Should have to work out in the field installing Septics before they can design and make rules for them..Great Video Sir glad you beat the rain..

And it would work the same way with just regular 4 in perforated pipe instead of that big black perforated pipe like you used..I swear the Guys that do inspections and that Gets a kick back from places that make that pipe. Great Video again Sir..
What a relief this is. Your face said it all! You knowing the steps and then calmly explaining them made this Septic install interesting! Crazy a septic install and you did it like most big projects should be and that is one bite at a time. Great Job!
Looking good ! If I wasn't so far away, in Bermuda 32N64W, I would offer you some bronze opening ports . From my classic sailboat. Shipping would be a killer Tho !

Hi capt , A thought re bridge you have done a great job .To finish off make it a covered bridge lay another pair of logs and build off that ,to keep weight off the road way .How cool would that be and it would make it last and would be a great tourist draw card. How many places have their own covered bridge.
Lots to do……and you want everything done ASAP. Once I was the same way - forty years later - I might do something tomorrow. These are “YOUR” days and you are enjoying being you. I call that “PERFECT”.

So that is how you get rid of UPSTATE Brush Control decals put them on the septic tank. You did a lot of great work for 1 person.
Hahaha hey he put that on there him self!

After watching you check for level after setting the tank, I think you need a "Better than Dirt Perfect " shirt
😂😂
Some things are best left unsaid. lol
