There's a certain symmetry to blizzard's cinematics. In WoL, during the Kerrigan flashback to New Gettysburg, she has almost the same reaction as that poor guy, when the zerg are barreling in on her from all directions.
I remember watching my older brother playing SC in the 90's, and how absolutely terrified I was about the zerg. This specific cinematic traumatized me, like, what the hell would I do in that marine's place? lol there is no place to run
Seeing that marine with the rockets, rock back and forth with PTSD is still scary to this day. The man doesn't even have breathe to waste on pointless commands, he only waits for the end.
48:19 Comrades, I may have an alternative. Seeing as we can produce Dark Templars, I wonder if we can use them to kill the Overmind altogether, allowing the plot to finish prematurely.
I like how you use High Templar to hold back attackers in the final mission. I probably would have thrown in a few Scouts or Zealots and merge the Templar who had no energy left for added firepower. You also could have researched the +50 energy upgrade.

I've always wondered. Most of the Khalai were supposed to be wiped out during the Fall of Aiur and only remnants made it off the planet. Then during the attack on Shakuras, even more died and yet again more on the ill-fated attempt on destroying Kerrigan. Then in SC2, 4 years after the events of Brood War, the majority of the remaining Khalai try to retake Aiur and get slaughtered/mind controlled and used as fodder to construct Amons body or fused into Hybrid with the only survivors fleeing on the Spear of Adun (where they can replenish their numbers with the Protoss in Stasis). But then, during the destruction of Shakuras, even more of them die and during the attack on Amon's body the Golden Armada is decimated. How many (Khalai) Protoss are there supposed to be exactly? Their race gets nearly wiped out close to 4 time during the franchise. How exactly are any Khalai even still alive?
@@pouncelygrin6699 The original manual states the protoss function over roughly an 8th of the entire galaxy, Losing Aiur was devastating but there were still billion left., they had multiple colony worlds after all. And every captial ship housed thousands.
My eight-year old brain couldnt understand why Aldaris had to die and when Kerrigan already had the matriarch under control. Until after rewatching the playthrough on your video today lmao
Interesting approaching to Mission 6. I usually go after the Overmind as it seems like the easier target. But I had never considered the Dragoon/Shuttle approach.
It would be interesting to see you play Mass Recall on hard, I bet many fast speedrunning strats wouldn't work and you would need a lot more forces to break the defenses...
Ok, so what other games from this era do people still play? Baldurs Gate, Unreal, Half Life, Doom, Quake, Diablo 2, X-Com, Capitalism... Anyone else i should add to my "classic games" collection?
You must have put some type of cheat code. Either the remastered version is easier or the ai is much tougher in the version I recently downloaded. Because the missions are all incredibly hard. It's like playing against bisu. I downloaded StarCraft in 2023. Not 2022.
I still don't understand. Kerrigan mind controlled the Matriarch into convincing the Protoss to obtain two crystals to vaporize the entire surface of their own planet?
man over 20 years and that introsequence never gets old. I just love it
same
man, the opening cinematic. The moment of resignation as the zerglings close in around him is heartbreaking. Holy cow.

Judicator pre Broodwar was absolute lunatic while in Broodwar he became voice of reason while others went mad....
Everyone went mad, he just went so far that he made it around
@@xiaoyu1949 lol hahaha. You are right.
how turntables..
I love how the judicator seems to be this zealous lunatic.... but in the end he was right and saw right thru kerrigans lies.
The same zeal that allowed him to see the truth prevented him from revealing it in a smart way
Back in LOTC campaign, Aldaris was a cowrd back then.

Like your speed run the most by far. A good demonstration of speed and low casualty. Thanks!
