A coin shop about 1h away from me used to have a tray like this and there were a fair amount of 1800s stuff in there for 25c each, its 50c now and mostly modern stuff

The largest silver coin that I have ever found while searching in the world coin bins was an Australian 50 cent coin from 1966.
I love collecting old big pennies from early 1900's! they are cheap and fun to have!

Yes, kinda represents true harmony of coin collecting...buying what you like and at a real cheap price, hunting, taking it home and learning.

sometimes just keeping it as is, like a time capsule, is even cooler then separating or even sending for encapsulation.

I found one oz silver rounds that were marked only on the edge, happened only once though!
A friend of mine gave me some Canadian money and the coines look really interesting and they are brand new from 2 years a go

I found a 1923 sterling silver florin from Great Britain in a €2 tray
Nice find. But it's worth always depend on its condition.

I found 2 very interesting coins
1. 1989 d dime with almost 100% missing obverse clad
2. 1897 equidor 1/2 d
Both coins in mint state
I should of had a look through the bowl of coins last time I was at a coin shop

I like those boxes of foreign silver I got at my LCS some Cuba 5 an 10 gramos silver a nice 1 peso 90% Philippines coin

You should also have said to bring a portable microscope to check for doubling.

My LCS doesn't have a box like that or I would be all over it.
A year late but I found a AU or better 10 pfennig 1950 with a noticable grease error. Not necessarily valuable but pretty cool to me
