Agreed with another poster. Anyone who enjoys electric rock and roll guitar? The live version of Eddie Van Halen's "Eruption" solo is a must hear. There are a slew of Eddie solo's out there-- all worth their weight in gold, but most will agree that the solo recorded for the "Live Without A Net" concert recording........ that's the sweet spot and just like all of us did back in 1978, eyes will pop, jaw will hit the floor followed by the words "WTF? How?" Mind you, we didn't have MTV and RUclips back then so we all had no idea "how" until we had a chance to be "baptized" live at a show by the Guitar God, King Edward himself. Edward Van Halen didn't learn the guitar. The guitar had to learn Ed!!!! In my humble opinion, there have only been two rock and roll guitar players that monumentally changed the game. Jimi Hendrix and Edward Van Halen. To this day one can hear King Edward's DNA in rock and roll guitarists more so than anyone else. His influence has reached every corner of the planet and there are players now taking his innovations and taking them to new heights.... but.... it's still Ed's innovative skills every day of the week, and twice on Sunday. May him and all the rest of the monumental talents of the six-string... all shred in peace.
