in the transition phase right now and honestly I couldn't be more happy to have my curls growing out again. I ruined my hair by relaxing it and dying it and my thick hair was THIN and falling out so much this time last year. feels so amazing to have my thickness back
I’m 10 months post relaxer I had braids in for almost 3 months that I took out yesterday, I washed my hair today and My relaxed hair took me to hell during detangling 💀
I've been natural for 3 years... 3c hair. I'm getting relaxed next week and I'm so excited! I've wasted so much video time, money, stress, and this is the worse thing I've ever done. Relaxers never let me down with proper care. It just made my life easier PERIOD! To each his own, but I'm over this - never again.
This is my 5th time transitioning because my mom always makes me relax it, she says it makes my face appear smaller when my hair is straight . I relaxed my hair when i was 10 but im 16 now and everyday i see people with beautiful curls so i really want my natural hair to grow out but any tips?i started transitioning from november 10th 2020 and honestly i don't know how long i can wait😂
Hey Naiomi, I completely understand where you’re coming from. I’m so glad to hear you decided to transition & hopefully for the last time ➿ I have a few videos on tips- def go through my channel. Thanks for the great information.
Your hair is beautiful ! I had my last relaxer 2 1/2 months ago and I can’t do anything with my hair. It’s very difficult to comb at the roots like I used to .

Hey Sharon! Sorry to hear you’re having a tough time I’ve been there. Maybe you can try to switch hair products if you’re having too much trouble detangling. Or maybe even try to use multiple products and LOTS of water before you put a brush to detangle.

Hey! I can relate, I went to a school with mostly Europeans kids barely anyone that looked like me. My advice is to try what you can to make your hair grow faster. Getting trims, weekly hair growth masks, your roots should come in soon.
Hi I’m a new subbie because my mom is transitioning herself and she would always use the term “nappy” for her hair. I would tell her over and over again to stop saying “ nappy” to describe her hair and it felt good for the both of us when you said that nobody hair is nappy. So thank you for that!
I started my hair journey last April and I feel like I still really struggling. Every time I take down a protective style I feel like I'm ripping all of my hair out trying to detangle. I don't know what to do 😞
Hey Jazzlyn, I would recommend not doing protective styles for a really loooooonngg time. It does cause damage on your fragile hair. Just rock a bun for a bit I know its super annoying & boring but that's what I did for a long time. :/
is it okay to blow dry your hair with hair protectant? both textures look so bad but i don’t want to cut it off so blow drying is one of the only way for it to look decent
I just stumbled on your video, and i started my journey a year and 3 months ago. After just deciding, I wanted to try natural. Omggg I’m 14 months in for transitioning my hair and I’ve been wondering why I’m loosing my hair from front and I didn’t realize it’s because of how long I’ve been wearing my ponytails 😰 I really need to learn new hairstyles
My hair dresser relaxed my hair because it was too much for her to detangle after I took out my braids 🤧 I was a few months in and now I’m back to square 1🥲
I have relaxed hair since I was 10 because my couldn’t take care of my natural hair, I’m 19 now and I’ve been transitioning for almost a year but its been hard. I don’t see a lot of growth
I understand how hard it can be even when you think you haven't seen any progress, but don't give up! I didn't see much growth until a year and 6 months so keep going YOU GOT THIS!
@@izzie2140 use a shampoo brush really good when it comes to circulation and blood flow I had a Afro in 2 months and deep condition for moisture make sure to moisturize your hair lco method or loc method if your hair takes long to get wet with water your low porosity so use lco if your hair gets wet fast loc, those are moisturizing methods if nun of the strategy’s work just make up your own L stands for liquid like leave in conditioner spray, creme, c stands for cream (recommendations: Shea moisture enhancing smoothie, as I am double butter cream very thick I heard, taliah wajid curly curl cream) and last oil (castor oil: stinks BAD!: Argan oil is light but smells good coconut oil is heavy but smells bad and good at the same time.
So like my hair is weird, like the transitioning isn’t like everyone else’s the whole strand of my hair just turns really curly, like it’s not partially natural and partially relaxed, it’s just the whole thing is curly. I don’t know it’s weird
I felt like that when I was transitioning and its completely normal. Your hair needs time to do its thing. I also experience weird stages and you will get through this! ➿
Great video! I was natural for a few years always in a pontail. Coming to D.R. i felt subconscious trying to keep up with all the chicas and their beautiful hair. I bought an iron and with the humidity I was putting HEAT daily. It looked so pretty and i got addicted, it was down the middle of my back..but then it fell out, alot of it. Its so thin now but the heat damage is real and crazy. Worse than any relaxer ever was. But no point crying over spilled milk right? One day at a time, doing what i need to do. For me its just a decision of if i am going to just cut it all off or if i am going to transition it. Honestly looking at my thin hair and when its wet it makes me think no way i can transition...but i'm gonna try
Cantu Shea butter? It says “no mineral oils, sulfates, parabens, silicones, phthalates, paraffin or propylene glycol” any good for transitioning? I’m not at all in tune with the hair world.
I want to transition but I'm scared I'm gonna mess it up. I don't know how to style it during the transition period. I also like to color my hair with a rinse. Can I do that during transition.
It’s been five months since I noticed my hair being damaged because I saw it growing out differently and so far, my hair has grown 15cm (that’s length with big curls) and when I pull it, it’s about 20-30 ish cm. Now I’m June or May depending on how I feel about it, I think I’ll go for a big chop. Idk maybe I’ll do it next week, once I feel that I’m tired of looking at the limp waves and tying up my hair I’ll definitely go for a cut
It’s being 5 months since i big chopped my hair. But i did it without transitioning, so now I’m transitioning with my short hair. I think it’s weird i can’t find anyone in social medias to relate to. Just quick question, was my decision okay?
Hey! I think every decision is unique to each person. I would say just focus on growing your hair out and finding a routine that fits with your lifestyle. Question for you- did you use any chemicals after your big chop? Like relaxer or dying your hair?
No i didn’t, and will never do it during my hair growth journey. My hair type is 3a 3b but when i wake up in the morning my curls look like 4c curls. (I use shea moisture and maui moisture as products) I also deep condition every week. So I think i should be patient and hopefully my hair will get healthier over time
Do you have any tips on what type of products to use for transitioning your hair? I'm going off to college and I was hoping to start transitioning while I'm there, due to "parental interference" at my home
When I was younger my grandma would relax my hair no choice I didn’t know what it meant to have curls I didn’t know the difference bc I was little, as I grew up I saw curls on others and I loved it and I was so insecure about mine at such a young age bc the roots were so curly but the ends were not it so age 10-12 and early 13 I would wear a puff everyday bc I didn’t know how to take care of it and it was hard for my mom bc she had severe back pain so she couldn’t really help now this year during the summer still being 13 I had curls I was so inlove with and I went to school feeling like I had a glow up everyone telling me they love my hair and I was never happier with myself bc for once I felt pretty. Last month I went to get a blow out ONLY and the girl relaxed my hair with out my permission now I’m a 13 yr old girl that can’t even be happy with her hair bc of heartless ppl and I told her MANY time I do NOT want relaxed hair and she didn’t care now I’m back at square one feeling idk what I js know I’m NEVER going back to a salon. But I’m glad I found this video I have hope that this will help me out
Hi Nicole, I’m so sorry this happened to you. Ugh! Idk why some salon workers do what they do SMH. Take this experience and flip it to a blessing. Find a routine that works for you and you’re going to see how beautiful your curls will reappear. You’re going to be so happy once you reach your final goal and see how much you learned about yourself and your divine curls. ➿ Good luck on your journey. I know you can do it 💗
Hey found your channel because I’m finally transitioning to natural woohoo 🥳 lol I have stretched my relaxers over the years going 6-7 months sometimes 9 and I just can’t do it anymore, back and fourth to the salon for that desired looked sometimes having to come home and finish their job or having to get it done earlier than necessary, costing money and hair smh. I look at my natural curls and honey they are fine like wine lol I can’t wait, but sometimes I get discouraged because I don’t want to do a big chop but these relaxed ends are annoying lol and certain hair styles like braids, twist etc doesn’t look good on me, I guess I’ll stick to my braid outs, but I’m glad I found you, your tips and speech at the end made me cry and I’m ready to continue, 8 months post let’s go !!!! lol your cults are beautiful and so are you ❤️
Hi Lorna, thank you for that sweet and thoughtful message. You are way too kind 💜 I am so happy and glad you want to transition to your beautiful natural curls. Sometimes we have to damage or lose things for us to appreciate them. This is a great mind set to have, watch in no time you'll be fully natural. Its all about enjoying your journey and learning new skills about yourself that you didn't know you had. Good luck girl YOU GOT THIS. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to message me, I would be glad to help! 💜💜
did a relaxer in february and i’m already looking into transitioning back to natural even tho it was a love/hate relationship i still miss it. so question, in the beginning how did you style your hair? i jus took out month old braids washed and blow dried it and now its in a bun. but now i don’t know what to do with my hair? should i jus leave it in a blow dried bun? should i be letting it air dry?
Hi Jayla in the beginning I did a lot of buns or a braid out if I wanted it down with some waves. I also didn’t straighten my hair much. I wouldn’t air dry too much since it’s bad to have your hair wet for a long period of time. I hope that helps.
I am going natural plus I have had a perm in almost a year now. And I do wear a lot of protective style but at this point am about to cut it because it is hard to comb for me
I use to have thick 4c hair down to my eyes almost shoulder length when I all my life until my mom relaxed my hair and she did it twice the first time nothing happened and then she did it again and my hair was done now half my head is natural my roots are and my ends are thin and look dead anyone have any tips to get rid of this also some parts are close to my roots are straight and its different throughout my hair not just my roots
Hello Around January I want to get KNOTLESS braids do you think that’s ok ? I got my hair relaxed November 22,2020 do you think my hair will be good by then?!
Hey! If it’s a style you rarely do I think you’ll be fine as long as you prep your hair before getting it done. Make sure you deep condition every week before getting the braids. Also let the stylist know not to pull too hard on your roots.
First I want to say your hair is so BEAUTIFUL and definitely GOALS 🥺😍 Second, would it be good to get some passion twists and leave them in for a couple of weeks to let my hair grow? My hair is so damaged and I got just a little bit of curls around my scalp and the back of my hair. The front is completely straight 😢😭
Thank you so much babe I appreciate your sweet comment 💕 I think it all depends how far along you are in your journey. If you feel that your hair is strong enough to hold that style for a bit then go for it but if you hair feels weak & fragile I wouldn’t recommend. Definitely do a lot of scalp massages and deep conditioning after you take down the style. Hope that helps.
Hey! I recently went natural late March, and my mom really wants me to get a relaxer but I don't want one.Do you have any tips to help me convince her (idk what her problem is she went through it also)
Hey girl! Maybe you can help her understand how damaging relaxers are on natural hair those chemicals thin out the hair so much hope that helps. Good luck on your journey!
You can tell your mom your hair will get damaged from chemicals and that can resolve in breaking off getting bald spots losing hair and more but you can grow it out but it’s hard
So I’m transitioning from heat training to natural but after months I have the opposite hair as most people that transition my ends curl up just fine but my roots is the part that can’t curl any tips?
I would say to focus on growing your hair out as much as possible and don't apply any heat for a very long time. You hair probably needs alot of time away from all the heat.
Yorelis I don’t plan on applying heat any time soon 😅 but would my roots curl like my ends if I keep using protective styles? Or should I do a chop once it grows out?
@@Bejd539 Hey Hannah, its kinda hard to tell since I have never seen your hair. Try to be careful with how often you use protective styles it can also lead to breakage which might be causing your roots not to fully come out.
Yorelis Thanks for the advice I’ve only been doing low manipulation styles like twist and braids and I plan on doing box braids once a year in the summer to protect my hair! There isn’t any natural stylist close to were I live so I haven’t had my questions answered so thank you so much❤️
Hello I love your channel. I'm thinking about going natural i haven't had a relaxer since June but I'm nervous. Tbh I don't know where to start. Do you have any tips to start the hair journey?
Hey Sheana! Thank you 😃 I think it's great you want to start your natural hair journey. I do have a video on 5 tips for transitioning hair and I think it will be helpful for you. It's just going to take some patience to make it happen but you can do it! Good luck!
I'm going natural soon and I have a job that requires my hair to be put away from the machines. since ik it's bad to have your hair in a bun all the time what other styles can release the tension? I don't want to make the process longer by making my hair worse from breakage
@@quinnalame I think if you have a good routine and you take care of your hair, you will be fine. If you have to do a tight hairstyle once in a while it’s okay.
@@grey8555 you’re right I think I’ve experimented enough, my days are over now 😭. I dyed it red, orange, purple, blonde. cut it into a TWA, then cut it again relaxed it got finger waves. I want my fro back
@@gabryelleaAP I've only relaxed and dye it half blonde, the dye was bad but I'm very surprised the relaxer didn't make me bald. It actually grew my hair out! I was tired of not seeing any new growth with my hair before
@@gabryelleaAP Also used avocados as a moisturizer! I purchased a blender, mixed in aloe vera, coconut milk & oil, Avacados, chebe powder, blue magic & doo gro, been growing like crazy
I feel you on this, but honey I used 22nd Century Natural Products....and they helped soften my hair to keep the new hair in sync with the permed hair. Wish you the greatest luck!
I’ve been transitioning for 2years+ and it seems like the relaxed ends became..coily?? Idk but at first it was so easy seeing the straight, relaxed ends from the new coily hair. Now It’s hard to tell..I used a denman brush to detangle and literally all of my hair curled up and I was like wait where’s the straight ends?? idk it’s interesting
I’m on my natural hair journey I’m using silicones because my hair is so thick and hard to detangle (4c hair or I’m not sure) but it’s been 2 months I’m on my third month and my natural hair is a Afro already but the back is eating up the damaged hair it’s so short but! It is a Afro in the back it’s really good and the front parts are longer I had bald spots but it’s gotten better since I went natural! Im loving this even when my hair is not done I still love it and accept all of its uglys and pretty’s but people thing everything is ugly but I love everything.💗
Yorelis Hi! Im 15 and I think I got my first relaxer when I was about 8 or 9 and my mom has been putting them in my hair for years without considering my wants or opinions at all. I didn’t really notice the change in my hair texture until the end of middle school and I’ve been wanting to go natural ever since especially after I realized that I had 4b hair before the relaxers.
My hair is thick and I am transitioning and don’t know what products to start with DONT have a lot of money to keep trying different products I have 4 c hair very thick and very kinky
Hi Delcinia, I totally get you! It’s hard to find the right products at an affordable price while transitioning it’s all tricky. I did use shea moisture Jamaican black castor oil product line I used the shampoo conditioner & mask. I hope that helps.
Hey girl I'm transitioning its been 4 months and I dnt knw when I shld cut it I want to now due to how it looks and hard to keep a style especially after I wash it. So shld I chop it off now?
Hey Jessica, it depends how much natural roots you have and if you’re comfortable enough to rock a short style. It’s going to be hard to have any style especially in the first few months. I do have a video on my whole journey if that might help make a decision.
When you said trim your hair every eight weeks did u trim it yourself or go somewhere to get it trimmed can u be a little bit more specific, also I got a tip from someone for my natural hair journey is to after I get my curls back and grow my hair out to cut out the dead / relaxed ends so u did it during ur journey now I don’t know what to do lol help
No worries, I know it can be a bit confusing. I went into more details of my actually journey in a separate video. I would have a family member trim my ends. Once I reached a good length where I saw a lot of my curly roots is when I cut off the stringy dead ends and let my natural hair be free

I’m 10 months post relaxer I had braids in for almost 3 months that I took out yesterday, I washed my hair today and My relaxed hair took me to hell during detangling 💀
OMG I can image the pain 😭
It’s because of the braiding hair. Sometimes there’s small pieces of braiding hair knotting up the hair.
I literally thought only my hair did that, my hair gets in a lot of knots!
The detangling is a nightmare🤦🏾♀️

Oh NO! 😩 Good thing is its never too late to make a change YOU GOT THIS! ➿
Thank you for your energy. I was so lost. I was doing protective styles. Mixing products. Please keep up the good work.
Thank you for your comment 💕 I def know the feeling I was lost too good luck on your journey➿
Your make-up is gorgeous!!!
Thank you!
Really like you, your story and your tips for transitioning your hair! Thank You!!
Thank you sooooo much your comment made my day 💝
I have relaxed hair since I was 10 because my couldn’t take care of my natural hair, I’m 19 now and I’ve been transitioning for almost a year but its been hard. I don’t see a lot of growth
I understand how hard it can be even when you think you haven't seen any progress, but don't give up! I didn't see much growth until a year and 6 months so keep going YOU GOT THIS!
Yorelis Thanks so much 🙏 and you’re so right. I got this.

I’m 13 and I’m trying to transition from relaxed to natural do you have any tips on how to do it?
Hello :) I have a few videos you can check out like my curly hair journey, 5 tips for transitioning hair they’re in my curly hair series playlist ➿
Yorelis Thankyou so much
@@kysalenay No problem! & good luck on your journey➿YOU GOT THIS
I am definitely restrained because I have dandruff issues so I can’t use every product. But this was very useful.
Is the hair mask that you mentioned only for a specific type of hair? Or does it work for all types?
it does say for dry, brittle hair.
Cantu can be a great option, just depends on your hair type.
omg i just love your energy u seem very frendly much muc luv and thx for the goog vid

I want to transition but I'm scared I'm gonna mess it up. I don't know how to style it during the transition period. I also like to color my hair with a rinse. Can I do that during transition.

So happy to hear you’re on your natural hair journey keep going you got this! ➿➿💕
Thanks for ur support💜💙i will try to update you💙💙
did you use hairdryers ?
Whenever I straighten my hair, yes, I always use a hairdryer before going in with a hair blower
Everyone should also remember that we were born with the hair that we’re going back to.
I do not use anything with a strong odor
So I think i should be patient and hopefully my hair will get healthier over time
@@ayad2928 You're on the right path. It just takes time and lots of patience.
Do you have any tips on what type of products to use for transitioning your hair? I'm going off to college and I was hoping to start transitioning while I'm there, due to "parental interference" at my home
I feel you! I used the Shea moisture Manuka honey yogurt line during my transition I def recommend that line
I know you can do it 💗
@@Yorelis thank uu🙏🏽🙏🏽
did a relaxer in february and i’m already looking into transitioning back to natural even tho it was a love/hate relationship i still miss it. so question, in the beginning how did you style your hair? i jus took out month old braids washed and blow dried it and now its in a bun. but now i don’t know what
to do with my hair? should i jus leave it in a blow dried bun? should i be letting it air dry?
Hi Jayla in the beginning I did a lot of buns or a braid out if I wanted it down with some waves. I also didn’t straighten my hair much. I wouldn’t air dry too much since it’s bad to have your hair wet for a long period of time. I hope that helps.
I am going natural plus I have had a perm in almost a year now. And I do wear a lot of protective style but at this point am about to cut it because it is hard to comb for me
Always do what’s best for you on your journey ➿
Hey new to your channel!! Thank you you are a breathe of fresh air! Bless you love!! ❤️

Me and my daughter are transitioning back. I miss her curls. It's a struggle but I'm so excited. I guess you have to let it go for you to miss it
So happy to hear that you guys are transitioning back ➿ Good luck & enjoy your journey
4 months post. Deciding to transition 😳 so far I can manage my hair
That’s great to hear! It was like that for me as well. Good luck on your journey ➿
@@Yorelis thank you. In thought that when you have a relaxed hair you can’t wet it I’m only 16 and I’m not used to this
@@marilyn1984 when you relax your hair you can’t wet it for the first 24 hours
Would it be better to do crochet hair styles?
You can do as you please 😃 just be gentle and don’t do as often!
@@Yorelis okay thank you! 😊
damn your hair is lovely please drop a video of how to do flexi rods plss
Thank you for watching and thanks for the video request!
Is it normal to have a lot of breakage and shedding during transitioning?
Yes! I def had some experience with that. If it’s excessive you might want to find a technique to detangle your hair more safely.
@@youcametomychannelforthetruth thank you for helping out and supporting each other ➿➿💕💕
So happy for you ♥️♥️♥️
THANK YOU💕
Im just gonna begin what r the best product
Hey! Everyone's texture is different but I would recommend what I was using which is Shea Moisture Manuka Honey Yogurt line

@@sheanabeena You're welcome! & don't be shy if you have more questions!
I'm going natural soon and I have a job that requires my hair to be put away from the machines. since ik it's bad to have your hair in a bun all the time what other styles can release the tension? I don't want to make the process longer by making my hair worse from breakage
I used to do braid outs overnight and take them out in the AM I also did buns as well which I know can be really boring
@@Yorelis thanks for replying. do you think if I keep my hair up all the time not tight or use hair clips my hair will still be fine?
@@quinnalame I think if you have a good routine and you take care of your hair, you will be fine. If you have to do a tight hairstyle once in a while it’s okay.

Hey Jessica, it depends how much natural roots you have and if you’re comfortable enough to rock a short style. It’s going to be hard to have any style especially in the first few months. I do have a video on my whole journey if that might help make a decision.
Me gusta tu personalidad and your makeup. Gracias por los consejos.
