Also, David Ayer is directing this who did Fury and Suicide Squad... Fury was amazing and Suicide Squad looks pretty great. Also, it's for Netflix and they haven't done anything bad yet.The movie is also going to have Will Smith and Joel Edgerton in it, which means talent. And Max Landis will be producing so he'll actually have a say in what they do with his script. The only other thing he produced that he wrote was Mr. Right which I actually really enjoyed.

Maxis Landis is a good writer based on the amount of writing he gets done and the time it takes, very productive and successful writer but his scripts/ movies always feel disconnected and that's because he writes them in 2/3 days . The 1st 2nd and 3rd acts don't feel connected or cohesive . With the exception of chronicle.
Reminds me a bit of the Last Witcher Hunter with the social dynamics of fantasy races etc (and that movie was fun for the most part), hope this turns out well

Max Landis ideas always sound great. I just hope it translate well to the screen, because for me, most of the time it doesn't. I like the director as well. So that's a great plus.
The description he gave for this movie was about 3x longer than it needed to be. Just say "LotR if it was history and the modern world evolved from that...and got away from magic - though it still exists." Done.
Except the awakening is a big event where Magic comes back all at once. If you watch the video the idea behind Bright is that humans have coexisted with magic and mythical creatures for so long it becomes a banality
It's a natural step in the evolution of Ayer's filmography if you think about it. Just look at End Of Watch to Fury to Suicide Squad. He keeps a sense humour mixed with intense drama, but each movie has upped the action factor. If you go from cop cars to war tanks to supervillains, dragons seems like an obvious next step.
Ya, I could get behind a Shadowrun movie. Which is what this is, would have been cool if he mentioned the clear inspiration but whatever, probably would have fallen of deaf ears. I just hope its closer to Chronicles quality than Victor Frankensteins.
