dae remember a website called foodnetworkgossip from the early 2010's? even back then they were saying it wasn't like it used to be so when did it actually used to be good
So cozy. The kind of show you watch when you're sick in bed. Miss these innocent days. People were...so...innocent. Her day of food would cost 3X as much now.
Back when Rachael Ray wasn't so stinking commericialized and The Food Network had shows that were actually fun to watch (not to mention learn from the show hosts!)
@@gigi_enItalie Breakfast: $9.50 (was 4.75) and coffee is 2.50 (was 1.09) Lunch: Chowder is $9.99 (was $4.50 ) and tea is not listed (was $1.50) Dinner: restaurant is now closed and the menus I see on google don't have the entree she ordered.
Same here, it actually makes me tear up a little bit because I used to watch it with my grandma, who I miss terribly and wish she was still here. I’d love to see a reboot of this show but with today’s prices, it would likely be next to impossible to stay at $40 or under
2023/24 Prices: Captain Parker’s Pub bowl of chowder: $9 Jacks Outback Stuft French Toast: $9.50 Roadhouse Cafe was a casualty of Covid and shut down in 2020. There’s a news article about them reopening this summer 2024. Couldn’t find anything on the puttanesca. Their entrees are in the $30 range so I guess $3 off would be $27 today. Cafe Mews: No prices listed for cocktails. Their glasses of wine range from $12-$19 so I guess you won’t get a Cape Triple 8 for $7.50 😂 😢
I used to love watching this show whenever I had access to cable tv! I was curious what $40 would be now in 2024 with inflation. It would be $68 A Day, but if they remade the show now, it would make more sense if it were an even $100.
The breakfast at Jack's is now double that price - $9.50 for the French toast and $2.50 for coffee. Lunch at Capt. Parker's Pub is $9.99 for a bowl of chowder, and iced tea doesn't appear to be on the menu anymore. Sadly, it looks like the Roadhouse Cafe was a victim of Covid shutdowns and never reopened.
Thank you so much for uploading these!!! It’s been so hard finding these episodes as they seem to be lost in time. Please please keep uploading if you are able to do so. Thank you again.
The first restaurant French toast is barely cooked no thanks. But boy do I miss this show, I remember watching it on tv. You can’t get anything for these prices anymore 😭
It’s extremely rare I find a decent meal under $40 for one person where I live. The family-owned hole in the wall ethnic restaurants always have the best deals and are the best food overall, but damn it’s expensive to eat anywhere in 2024.
I miss this show! Pls post more if you can find them. I also miss Samantha Brown’s show on the travel channel. You can tell this is back in the early 2000s, you can barely do anything with $40 now let alone eat 3 decent meals smh
Wow this didn’t age well haha I live on cape cod year round and the cost for everything is so high you absolutely can not afford to live here unless you are very rich!
The days when laws didn't define your ability to relax.... I remember thinking (and this is coming from a poor person) how cheap she was at tipping. At that time I was tipping 4 or 6 for pizza delivery. I couldn't look anyone in the face if I had only tipped them a dollar. That was shameful.
When my wife and I could eat at a great Italian bistro in NW Portland, for $40 including a bottle of wine. Circa 2002 (we also could afford to live down the street LMAO)
That breakfast place is like that famous Karen restaurant where they are mean to you on purpose. I think I'm too sensitive but Rachel is tough - "Do I lose points for that?" lmao
This is when food channel was good
Bam!
Yes!! Food channel is so 🤮 now.
dae remember a website called foodnetworkgossip from the early 2010's? even back then they were saying it wasn't like it used to be so when did it actually used to be good
When it was actually about food & food tourism
For real
So cozy. The kind of show you watch when you're sick in bed. Miss these innocent days. People were...so...innocent. Her day of food would cost 3X as much now.
So we'd do $100 a day or less
This and Great Hotels with Samantha Brown. 😂
People looked so normal back then.. .
Back when Rachael Ray wasn't so stinking commericialized and The Food Network had shows that were actually fun to watch (not to mention learn from the show hosts!)
She always had the appeal though and Personality
I used to watch this all the time as a kid and I’m glad it’s back on here😄
I used to watch it too, but there’s no way I can live off $40 a day now
No one can now😢@@desmonddaly6538
Not me looking up the restaurants to see what the items cost now.....
LOL, was wondering that too! What did you find?

Adjusted for inflation, the show's title in 2024 is "$69 A Day"
Only $69???! Maybe $100 lol
@@kasework $69 is the "onlyfans" inflation
@@jonnyfendi2003 omg 😂😂😂😂😂

OMG I have been searching for years for these episodes I would even pay for them but no one has them available please upload more thank you!!
I remember even back then thinking she was a cheap tipper 😂😂
That first restaurant ridiculous requirements. They can keep it
This is when 40 got you more than lunch and a snack lol!
Omg I used to love this show and 30 min meals .
I worked at a seafood restaurant in Mass around this time and we had a twin lobster dinner every Thursday for $17.99. Miss those days!
I loved this show it was great my husband was working nights and if she had a marathon I would stay up and watch miss this show great one ❤
Cape Cod is so gorgeous, Chatham and Orleans are at the top of the list of seaside towns to visit.
You are correct this is when the Food Network channel was great
As someone who went to the Cape many summers as a kid, wowza is this nostalgic.
I used to love watching this show whenever I had access to cable tv! I was curious what $40 would be now in 2024 with inflation. It would be $68 A Day, but if they remade the show now, it would make more sense if it were an even $100.
I loved this show growing up! Love Rachael Ray she doesn't know it but she taught me how to cook lol
This jusy unlocked a memory
Captain Parker's clam chowder is the best! Been there many times.
The epitome of my childhood days.
I moved here because of spending my childhood summers here. The Cape is a lifestyle.
I loved this show so much. Please keep uploading new episodes if you have them.❤

Was that stuffed french toast even cooked?
Looks raw

Now it would be 140$ a meal.
I love $40 A Day!! I miss this show!
hard pass on the french toast sorry
Looked undercooked and soggy
Right😂
I loved this show back then!!!

I used to watch this every Friday night in college 😂 miss the show and miss that you could actually eat a whole days worth of food for $40😭
That’s back when prices were reasonable
I miss this and the prices back then. Competition shows get repetitive. This is what the people want!
That French toast looked raw
I remembered that this person had her own show on television.
The price and food better be worth it to put up with the locals’ BS.
I LOVED this show
Omg i loved this show! I feel old 😆 i was in high school in 2003
The beginning. ❤
This would be a $100 now!!
Now you could get two fast food meals with that
Miss this show.
I would never visit the first restaurant, rude af staff and raw 'french toast' gross.
Agreed. Rather stay home
Would love if you have the Maui and Charleston, SC episodes.
I might. I have many episodes on tape. I'm getting them transferred as I can.

I would LOVE to see the Palm Springs and Grand Canyon episodes.
40 dollars now: 6 pack of beer and a pizza.
Yeah, they would need to change it to $400 a day
2024 version: $400 a day
lol at these prices and tip amounts
Loved it ❤❤
Back when she was good. Should've stayed doing these shows.

This is the Rachel I loved
Holy shit I remember this episode.
That would be breakfast in 2024
What would the show be called today?🤔 $100, $150 a day? 😂
Could maybe get away with $60 but that would be quite a challenge lol
Back when the only competition show was the great iron chef. Good.m times. Food network is just Guy and his kid now.
When my wife and I could eat at a great Italian bistro in NW Portland, for $40 including a bottle of wine. Circa 2002 (we also could afford to live down the street LMAO)
I love that she is blown away by a vodka cran. also, she's a big tipper, huh?!
Based on current prices, it'd legit be almost $80 now.
$40 a day on the cape gets you nothing nowadays lmao
Worst tipper ever
That first restaurant is way too overwhelming
It’s too bad RR up snd got her own talk show-you wanna know why huh?…A: She was NEVER as good again as she was with 40$ A Day!!
Ummm.. They didnt cook that french toast long enough, it looked undercooked. Anyway.. I still love this show! 😃
I wonder what that exact day would cost today, June 22, 2024? 🤔
Mad TV. Gotta. See. It.
That breakfast place is like that famous Karen restaurant where they are mean to you on purpose. I think I'm too sensitive but Rachel is tough - "Do I lose points for that?" lmao
Ah wow 🫣😭😭 back in the days i never missed an episode ❤
Love the gay waiter at dinner
And the lesbian server at the bar
Today it is 70 dollar a day.
One of my favorite shows wish I could find the look for less somewhere with Elisabeth Hasselbeck
Hell no I would never eat there. 😮😮😮
The show would be called $80 per day if filmed now.
to think people do this on RUclips now... Vlogging before it was cool
Love to see chicago episode
This is before she was annoying
Hey Rach! You forgot to thank the Lord before you ate this breakfast. 😢
I miss the days when FN had good shows
40 bucks just in tips, these days, at least
cool channel shes gorgeous
Traffic and weather suck and food is marginal. Enjoy your vaycay!
That’s $68 in today’s money
