I meant to say thanks for highlighting the food market beside the Omni a few months back, but the first of us going there was last week... after the Daniel Sloss Playhouse gig, coincidentally! (If you hadn't mentioned it, we might never have known it was there.) Great range of food types/stalls/outlets, plenty of seats, slick ordering/delivery and friendly runners. A joy!
@@DerekGrubb I'm so glad we finally have a place like ESF! Took a long time to get a market of this sort in Edinburgh, but now that it's here it's one of my favourite spots. How was the show? .)
@@renhascake I didn't leave room for them, but I'm hoping to be back Friday for cookies and ice cream. BTW, are any cones or cookies gluten-free for my OH?
I’m coming to Edinburgh for Fringe this august (2024) as a Canadian Fringer! I know a lot of people find this overwhelming, but I absolutely adore Fringe, and I’m so excited to experience the original! Thank you for sharing 😊😊
Great insight into Edinburgh and the Festival, it was good to meet you guy aswell (I spoke to you at the top of the Mound). The video shows Edinburgh in all its festival glory 👌 Its a magical place to be but I think some of it is lost on us locals! Totally agree that it's the best place for street photography, all the weird and wonderful in our historic old town 👌 Brilliant!😁😎
Hey, sorry for the late reply. Yes, I got some awesome shots,Edinburgh is always great for photography, even more so with the weird and wonderful fringe artist! Just catching up on your Autumn videos now 👌 enjoy and thank for always highlighting our beautiful home city 🙂
Great insights and examples of what the Fringe Festival is about and contains. Thanks for the upload as always. Witty, informative and fun! High five to Simon... wink, wink.
Great video! 😀 It's amazing to see what you recommend from the fringe! My partner and I have finally got around to see more shows this year, despite having lived in Edinburgh for 5 years and were there for 3 fringe festivals. Our all-time favourite is definitely showstopper! Really hilarious improv+musical - highly recommend! We also managed to just dropped by some great stand-up comedians like Nathan Cassidy and Mike Rice. Both were absolutely hilarious, we had such a great time at their shows!
Thank you for the recommendations! Will need to check those shows out! And I totally understand - it took me years to really start getting into the festival season. But once one gets into it it's fascinating to see how there's something in the programme for everyone!
As a professional Eeyore, i have to say the Edinburgh Fringe is my idea of hell. Wouldn't be at all surprised if a few of the locals feel the same way.
Oh yes I feel you! (I was kinda hoping more people would share that sentiment and buy my Frazzled by Fringe pin, but it seems like locals haven't quite hit the critical point yet!! .D haha)
Living in Edinburgh for years and putting up with the clogging mess in August each year (it gets worse each year and MORE expensive), Lockdown wins the 'best years of the Edin Fringe' in my book, as there wasn't any FRINGE. And sadly though it used to be easy to find someting 'funny' in the fringe, now they've wokily-pokily cancelled everybody worth seeing and listening to.
@@macgregordespitethem Perhaps a good idea to rent out your property at an exorbitant rate and disappear for the duration? All that jollity would get on my tits.
That's why they started calling it the Edinburgh Cringe. If they're avoiding the festival like a leper colony, they're hardly likely to buy shitty merch from there.
@@Kakibot Please do! Her performance was edgy and inclusive! And she had many supporters among Fringe attendees! We love to ask people that we encounter at the Fringe what shows they liked the best. A guy from Australia talked about Anna Piper Scott and then wrote it down for us, including location and show times! We got tickets immediately, partly because, if we ran into that guy again, he was going to ask!
That's so cool! I think for me the obvious food spots would be just a couple of doors up or down the walk: Chorrito for tacos or Knight's Kitchen for delicious African food! .)
Thank you so Much Kakibot had a lovely day on Leith walk my wife had great time and yummy food. show went ok. Hopefully get another gig in Edinburgh and stay over in the city soon. My wife did a gig in Shawlands in Glasgow southside at G41 venue tonight .Good comedy and yummy food. I would recommend a visit if you are in Glasgow.
What was the best street food you've found at Fringe so far? And who was the most original leafletter of the season? I'm all ears!! .)

Ayy hope you enjoyed our cookies from SoftCore! ^_^ And beefy Benedict is also delish ofc with that poached egg drip ;)
@@renhascake Hi Renata! The cookie was fantastic - loved that it tasted kinda like a fluffy pancake which I did NOT expect!

Very glad to see the 2023 edition and experience a little of the fringe, even if vicariously :)
We enjoyed asking people in line, in bars, etc. what shows they most enjoyed. Everyone is friendly and eager to share!
Thanks for the video! I am going to visit this week Edinburgh so I'm definitely excited to see what they festival offers 😊
Thank you for helping me find the best places to go !
Loved seeing Simon with a pint in each hand, at the end! That's how you drink! None of this half pint stuff. 😂😂😂
Hahaha! That’s how he is most often spotted in the wild!!
❤❤❤That was very interesting thanks you for sharing 😊

Thank you Lee! Was great having an opportunity to pop over to the House of Oz!
You didn't mention the BEST thing to visit during the Fringe: the Dovecot art market you're selling at next weekend!😉
Missed an opportunity 😱 but don’t worry, I’ve managed to promote it on my community tab here!!
Nah its break the chains theatre performance

Anna Piper Scott was the very best!

What is the best outfit to wear when you visit in August? :)
Something with a hood.
My wife is doing a comedy set at the Leith depot. Is there anywhere near to have a bite to eat you would recommend?

Trans - indulging people's delusions to be "nice" is not compassion.
Very well said.
You lost me at 'trans comedian'...
A woman allowing man to dictate that you call them she, and you do it...🤦🏼
It's a contradiction in terms.They don't have a sense of humor.
Agreed entirely!
