I just ordered the metal gear set. Your opinion , other than not stripping spur gears anymore. Do you notice any difference? I love this rc truck. One of my favorites for sure.
Never had issue with the spur as I changed mine from the beginning with some Team Asso and installed a Tamiya cardboard gasket between motor and plate, I just bought the metal gear set because I had some loose change burning my hands. Didn't notice any difference with the metal gears, it's still the same fun truck it was before. Given their price and my lack of stripping gears, I wouldn't qualify it as my best investment but it adds to the peace of mind, no more worry if I'll find spare gears in the event they strip, given how sparse spare parts availability is for anything but Mini-Z at Kyosho.
