    Wow! I didnt expect one of the chefs on the channel to speak in english. Thanks for the recipe ❤ ive never made tempura with fresh prawns because it seemed so daunting but i might try soon

      @@japanesetopchefs3173 personally i do prefer the videos in japanese with english subtitles, i feel that the chef's personalities come out a lot more when speaking their native languages. Nonetheless this was a fun experiment! I'll continue to watch and support 💪

    One of my best lunches as a restaurant apprentice was ten kasu don. 😅 miyashita san boiled the batter bits in dashi and poured over rice, soul food for a hungry teenager 😋

    what is the little metal tube that goes into the hot oil from above? is it like...and oil pump to add more oil?
    is it ok to eat the bones and organs of the little fish? don't have to remove a center thing like in the shrimp?

      A small metal tube is probably for sensing temperature. The fryer will automatically stop when the temperature rises too much. Also, smelt has soft bones, so you can eat the whole smelt, including the internal organs.

    Im sorry and not trying to disrespect at all but, This is actually quite hard to understand what he was trying to say or explain due to that his voice is quite deep and he has beep speaking deep from inside. This will be much better in full Japanese language and has an english subtile.
    This session in English and I tried to turned on a subtile along this and it got worst. The subtile made even more harder to understand

      As a native english speaker im used to a lot of accents so i personally didnt have any trouble understanding anything he said, but i do think having subtitles alongside the english audio would help, at minimum for scrolling through the transcript when referencing the video during cooking
