Honest and brutal opinion: TC1 makes 2 look like a massive and expensive tech-demo for TC1

And yea...lol Physics....why Ubisoft/IVT so scared to let our car flip! That seems to be the problem with the physics! The car keeps trying stay level!
As well as the numerous broken jumps in the game! But all in all TC1 mixed with the Driver series would make for better content!
With 2000 miles of road it trump's TDU's map size, but that's the game where it could take cues from to make a more engaging open world!
And I don't know why nobody adopted this yet but Midnight LA made the best concept for street racing with the hubs and racers driving around the city! And randomly getting a call to "free-form" race! That said
With TC1's landmarks and sheer size this would fit perfectly! The Summits will act more as car meets! And all street racing would be done from these (numerous) hubs that would be focused around certain landmarks!
Then literally steal the concept of "Pro-Street" sort of like "Race wars" form F&F! And that would create a pretty good "atmosphere"

TC2 literally feels like alpha TC1 that they just removed everything good from.
Yep, burned many hours on TC1. And it has the same thing like NFS World has - driving with random players through the map. Just enjoying the ride. Now much older i miss those times. Life was slower - games was faster. Now life is fast and games are "slow" in the meaning of enjoyment...

It started rough but then it got better as it got updated, same can't be said about the game that replaced it...
hot take the updates didn't do anything, and PVP was the only reason to bother playing crew 1, but also I always felt like ivory tower never properly used the whole map plus, what they did put in there wasn't amazing, but a meh at best
The Crew 1 was such a good game especially compared to The Crew 2. Like what the hell happened to those long races that were in The Crew 1. Those were so much fun to play with friends.
Also, The Crew 1 had a much better atmosphere imo.

TC1 is what people meant when they said they wanted police in TC2, instead they added that Motorflix crap
This wasn't possible due to agreements with car manufacturers. So they tried a different way to get something into the game without hurting the agreement. I was more dissapointed with the Motorpass system than the game mode!

I played The Crew 2 for about a year and I will say I love playing from time to time just to have a nice drive/ride/flight/boat ride around the many landmarks mostly because I think the addition of other vehicles is fine and I can find fun in it. But since im not as big a car guy as I used to be I don't play many car games to much anymore to begin with.

The Crew 1 was far superior. It felt a lot more grounded in reality. Sure it had some silliness to it, like 'skateparks' for monster trucks, but it just felt like one big playground for cars. The Crew 2 just feels far too over the top. It's like I'm in some kind of cartoon world with all these stupid glowing tyres and silly underglows and roof toppers.
Also, the Summit event was a lot more fun (and forgiving) in the previous game. In the Crew 1, you'd have - 'here's a street race, but you've gotta use an American car" Ok, that's cool. I've got a couple to choose from. In the Crew 2 it's - 'here's a street race but you gotta use this INCREDIBLY specific car that costs £1.5million' Well, I don't own that, and it'll take me 3 hours of grinding to earn that much, so I ain't buying it, and I ain't getting a platinum either!
I hope TC3 looks like this game. Or even better. Better graphics, better physics, better support, and new map

So many memories meeting people on the salt flats and playing hold the crown. Story wasn’t awful either, atleast for a street racing game.
Both of the crew games had insane potential, but Ubisoft made sure none of that potential saw the day of light.

Honestly I loved this game and I spent HOURS and HOURS with it, really fun and brought the NFS Most Wanted vibes from the story, then I ended up buying The Crew 2 and if I played 3 hours it was a lot

At least The Crew doesn't have brake to drift... It's legitimately THE ONLY OPTION if you want a somewhat twitchy arcade racer nowadays because NFS is still embarrassing itself by being a really bad Burnout mod for the last decade now :/
That’s what fucking sucks. I don’t like Forza Horizon. But there’s literally no other open-world racing game options, because Forza’s more on the realism side, while The Crew 2 is arcade-y and full of bloat like Motorflix and other random shit, and NFS is just pure brake-to-drift.
Honestly? I’d kill to have an open-world Gran Turismo game. But that’ll never happen.

Popular opinion: TC1>TC2
I loved The Crew 1, sank so many hours into it, even did the money farming thing with sending "friends list" racers out on daily races to farm money. The Crew 2 is so crap by comparison, they tried to do the whole "racing is illegal, that's why we are doing it legally" and like almost no point to the story. Absolutely soulless and the cars all feel the same kinda.
P.S. I can't remember the physics behaving this badly in the first game haha
I think it was a pretty solid game, not perfect history of physics but fun. TC2 has been a huge let down, and i don't play it anymore

I remember how everyone was talking about this game when it came out, it was so exciting, the graphics were so good (even now compared to TC2), unfortunately I didn't get to own the game, so I can't say much, but the story was actually cinematic
Honestly, the only things I liked about The Crew 2 compared to the first is the livery editor and the Photo Mode.
@Mateusinhoyt Yeah but the one in TC2 you can replay the moments before you opened Photo Mode, so you can take screenshots with whatever you did before. Also, you can make and record a cinematic replay.
I'm still buffed on why they didn't release it on PS3, it was on Xbox 360 but no PS3

Crew was great game, I mostly like PVP races. There was so much fun and people that really know how to drive in this game.
I loved this game. It was fun to just drive. Plus I've completed a lot of challenges - 13000 points overall or something like that. Some of them were bugged though

Fun fact: some of my friends couldn't play the game when we tried it because of one file that couldn't be downloaded with their internet provider. Problem was never fixed of course

what the crew 1 lacks in polish and physics it makes up for in focus and ideas
the crew 2 is polished and all but really lacks a focus evidenced by the sheer swathes of boring dry content. honestly that's what eventually made me stop playing

Can agree. TC1 was better in any comparison than TC2. I had way more enjoyment with the first game than I ever had in the second game.
With all honesty TC1 was fun but i constantly felt like in a pay to win mobile game with everything locked
Crew 1 had a massive potential, but all was screwed up just because of messy driving physics.

The Crew 2 felt really empty, I havent played it since it first came out, so idk if things have changed since in regards to the police in free roam, but my biggest complaint was no cops in the overworld, why? Because without them, the world felt really empty, you could do whatever you wanted with numb as hell driving physics and it felt like you could drive for minutes at a time with nothing going on. You have an open world that size and nothing happens wherever you drove. You were better off fast traveling to each race and just doing that. Plus it felt very limited to what you had left to do once most of the driving races were done and you were left with the bloody Boat and Plane races people never really wanted to play anyway. There was no substance to the game and it felt like an empty husk. The Crew 1 at least had a story and gave you things to do and made the map feel, even just a LITTLE bit alive. There is nothing about the crew 2 that makes you "want to keep playing" after like 5 races, you feel numb and lose interest way too quickly. Thats why i stopped playing WAY before the first "major update" was done. Too little too late.
Is the Crew 1 still worth getting? Are people still playing on the playstation ecosystem? I want to buy the Ultimate edition when it goes on sale again.

Most likely cause he's playing on the PC and a high frame rate will sometimes fucks the physics's same thing with rivals on pc

If anything, I feel TC1 was much better at portraying the US than TC2 was.
Like in TC1, all the cities felt like their cities. In TC2, all the cities feel the exact same.
i actually got to play the closed alpha of the crew 2, even then it was worse than Crew 1...
Tbh I prefer the first over the second it just feels like there more of it than the second and I consider TC1 the UC we could have got.

Story is very fun, worldmap is awesome and cars are cool, but there are not many players. Played it like 4 years ago and loved it, but after I finished the story, it got boring
Yeah, not enough players, but I enjoyed the crate runs & chasing crate runners a lot. I think for the current price it's worth getting & playing the story, exploring the map & getting the cars you like.

Tc1 was saved by some great updates. I remember at release i was just playing through it and i was done. Picked it up again a year or 2 later and had way more fun and the visuals looked better. It seemed so lifeless and bland at release.

Unpopular opinion, i hated TC1 and actually liked TC2
I guess I'll play devil advocate and say crew 2 was and is an improvement on crew 1 as when I think back to crew 1, I remember being bored out of my tree even with friends, and usually, we'd default to PVP, but i understand that's not everyone's cup of tea altho I will concede the grind was and is ridiculous on the other hand crew 2 there isn't really a grind to be had as you basically just gotta win the race also I feel like kuru is asking too much from a car arcade keyword being arcade you never gonna get realism or realistic cars in an arcade racer this isn't horizon or gran Turismo and IMO anyway your not playing a car arcade to get realism out of the game you know what you are buying basically

This game and it's story is good enough that I would like to play it again 8 years later but the dumbest thing about it is that I simply cannot start a new save game (PC) without literally buying it again. The TC1 costs more than TC2 because Ubisoft wants everyone to play the game that has more microtransactions.
TC1 was actually a good game (after updates ofc), TC2 just... feels bad... driving cars there is like playing with toy cars, planes and boats? Like seriously... and graphics suck a lot, somehow eating a lot of fps for a hand drawn texture, while TC1 has in-game textures that look so much better and still hold up to fps... TC2 dosen't have flaws, TC2 is the flaws. TC1 had actual work put in it (somewhat, not that much either, but still more than TC2).
Cant even access the game on ps4 it wont sign me in
