Exactly. Your work hours change so much. People not returning to work to share the load. You cannot have a normal life. I think some people just come here just to be keyboard bullies because they are angry cowards.
It’s just insane how people don’t understand this job but write comments about how it seems she hates it. As if she’s some robot who isn’t allowed to be tired. Flying in America is absolutely insane. Collectively all of the unions have published statements about the treatment of flight attendants currently.

Your standby spot story had me cackling lol. “You can sit around the downstairs and you won’t get the coronavirus, but I guess if you went up there you could have gotten the coronavirus” 😜😂 then you rearranged the furniture and said “My day just got so much better” 🤣
The spot was probably closed because the airport would be required to sanitize the location (furnitures, hand rails, rest rooms, etc.) all day long to prevent any Covid related illnesses.
I flew for 30 years reserve rap and airport standby is a killer. Don’t miss it I almost quit several times because of it. We are human not robots that don’t need a regular schedule and sleep! Prayers🙏🏻
Not knowing where you will be in 8 hours. It is impossible to know what you need to pack. It is not healthy to have a crazy schedule all the time. I wish the negative people criticizing Kacey would go play in traffic.

Even having a schedule all you end up doing is working sleeping in days off. It’s a rare layover you actually do something fun and not sleep through it. Get out sooner than later it’s now a flying Walmart and a virus super spreader.
I used to be on call at my job - they'd call before 6 a.m. to work a full day on unfamiliar stuff. Basically, it was a summons to be tortured. I grew to hate the sound of the cellphone call sound. I got rid of that phone ten years ago and I still get chills when I hear that sound.
Seems like a very hectic way of life, but your a true champ for sticking with it. The railroad was going to be the same way, but with a family I couldn’t do it.

Kacey: As a flight attendant since you spend so much time on your feet walking around airports and servicing customers on the planes I strongly recommend you get THE BEST FOOTWEAR for the job. Are there any quality shoe stores in your neighborhood? It's best to try on shoes to make sure you have proper heel support and comfort. Ordering shoes online is risky. In the long run if you have spend a little more on quality shoes it's for your benefit. Take good care of your feet. Check with your Union to see if buying additional shoes is a tax write-off since its part of your uniform !!! 👞 👞 👞 👞 ✈ ✈ Happy Flying 😊

The late switch to the 777 shows that passengers need to be tolerant that the crew are also trying to find things if it’s a different aircraft. It’s something I hadn’t considered before.
@@LekkerDops What you are saying is true but US airlines have almost exclusively flown narrow bodies for the last year or two so they may have temporary adjustment issues. The principal is the same for all aircraft but the specifics for each aircraft could be minimal and easy to reacquaint before take off. If it were more serious the regulations should type rate aircrew like pilots are.
You’re the cutest‼️ As a long time crew member I can tell you that most flight attendants actually just want to go home even if the job appears like fun, it’s definitely not. Although at times it can be fun, but most times it’s down right abusive
If your contract says that you aren’t required to answer your phone prior to the start of your duty period, don’t make the scheduler’s job easier by answering it, just set your alarm 1 minute prior to the start of your work period and THEN turn your phone back on. It’s a contract violation for them to call you prior…
Kacey- If you want super comfortable shoes you can wear for hours, try Propet Life Walker shoes. They come in velcro tabs or lace up, in black and another color. They are super lightweight, very good for travel and hours on your feet. They are also airport security friendly. I usually find they last more than a year with daily use.

I loved your coffee maker by the bed idea to save time and effort. Back in the day, when I was in high school, I got to re-do my bedroom. I added wall paper and wicker ceiling fans and artwork to make it look like a tropical vacation room. Then I installed remote control modules so I could turn everything on and off from my bed, with a single remote control. It controlled the lights, th ceiling fan, my stereo, my tv, and a couple of lamps. When my mom saw it, she flipped out and said I was the laziest person she ever knew. I told her I wasn't lazy, but efficient. Then I added that if it weren't for lazy people, everything would be done the hard way. Manny F. P.S. A lot of places in airports had sections closed off due to the virus. If people went up there, its one more big area they have to clean. Made sense to me to shut it down. I'm confused. Yu know, if you had rubber bed sheets you could go to Lowes and get a long extension for the shower head and shower in bed. Get carpet cleaning fan used on water damage and blow yourself dry. have yur coffee which looks like Kahlua to me, roll over and go back to sleep. Or edit more vids.
Being an airline or charter flight crew loses its glamour quickly. 12 hour days or nights are common. Living in hotels 16 days a month really is not for everyone. You have to love the flying part because the pay is not that great once you divide it by duty hours.
Kacey congratulations on finally getting your D-terminal space back and yes I not only laugh at your little celebration moment but I even had to go back and rewatch that little moment of self victory. On your last vlog you wanted to know what is an easier way to chopping onions without crying? Try cutting a strong citrus fruit like a limon or a lime and place it on the table in front of you. Trust me the strong citrus smell is much more powerful than the onion smell that makes you want to cry, but the citrus is smell is so much better there's a reason they make citrus air fresheners and not onion air fresheners.

I have gone to Dallas in March and wanted to go to your sit spot, but was closed so unable to get up there. Now I know its open and I will be coming down to Dallas this month so finally can experience the luxury quiet spot.
So my friend is with American (32 years) and the crazy stories are even for someone that senior. Flying stand-by going to Europe has its stories as well, but a free first class ticket is awesome.. stay positive
It seems like you ladies that just got off of furlough have been getting the worst schedules. I follow several attendants and it seems worse than before layoffs. You are so sweet about it. I would be pulling my hair out 😬😡
Since you mentioned the steering wheel thing, it is more common then you think. The plastic wears out more where your hands are always placed and moved around. I have been in the car business for 20 years and see wheels like all the time.
You need to study and know verbatim, FAR Part 121 flight duty time limitations. Dead heading is duty. Remember; you are either off or at work/on duty, which includes; working an assigned trip, dead heading, training and, standby/reserve. Anytime you are not free to do as you wish, you are at work!
Kacey that is just a worn leather steering wheel. A little black shoe polish and that will look like new but you have to put it on and then buff it in. But do it when you are done for the day. Let it sit so it fully dries. wipe it down the next day to rub off excess(give it another buff).
we had another term for these duties but essentially you get about 3 hours sleep like she says, ....try having these in roster every month and all year and after about 5 years you feel like crap

The steering wheel coloring may be due to simply wear or sunlight damage. My mother's Toyota has discoloration like that on the whole steering wheel and front dashboard. The discoloration is probably due to sunlight damage over the years

I had those inflight shoes last year! I loved them! They were very comfy, but I will warn you they didn’t end up lasting super long and with the nylons they didn’t smell the greatest either after a while. TMI, maybe, but just thought I’d let you know so maybe you could get some odor eaters!

Apply black shoe polish oil, you can actually turn the navy blue into black.

In the Navy, the Service Dress Blue (SDB) uniform was actually Black in color.

I m not in the field of Air lines or Flying or slightly related but I am a lover of flights and travelling in the air !!! incy wincy comment is that i find you are so glad when you arent called or on call or when you can avoid unplanned situations ....but as per my theory I am always glad when I have work and on call or deadheading or what ever it is I treat every day of my work life as a challenge and I wanna do it and I know got this !!! I m sad only when i dont have work !!! I am a solutions provider and there are instances that i can AVOID the problems that I am suppose to solve but I get my self involved to learn and survive ............just a thought ......... The steering wheel coloring may be due to simply wear or sunlight damage. My mother's Toyota has discoloration like that on the whole steering wheel and front dashboard. The discoloration is probably due to sunlight damage over the years

You seem to be a very organized person. Which is good. Often wondered about your steering wheel. Never seen one that worn. You must be hard on steering wheels. Be safe
I had those inflight shoes last year! I loved them! They were very comfy, but I will warn you they didn’t end up lasting super long and with the nylons they didn’t smell the greatest either after a while. TMI, maybe, but just thought I’d let you know so maybe you could get some odor eaters!
