Good Luck Michael As an ex Irish Farmer living in Rural Australia We are aghast at what’s happening in Ireland in the name of climate change Very little practicality there But then the French Queen did say let them eat crumbs No balance anymore in Ireland Easy living here We didn’t allow the country to be filled with social welfare recipients Here you work for a living
You make a party you have my vote, the centre right partys are no longer conservative and the leftist partys are insane,we need common sense politics back
He is the only one person in the parliament to say the truth he talks for the people who elected him and like not elected and still a minister who will dictate to the people
Welll said Michael.... Let's walk the walk now.... you will have unreal support and I for one will be at any meeting you organise. LETS GO MICHAEL AND BE REMEMBERED FOR GENERATIONS FOR SAVING RURAL IRELAND 🇮🇪
Well said michael but we all need to shout now before these's new laws are in place. As a farmer im willing to help d environment as much as possible and in d past 2 years ive halved my chemicial fertilizer and started dibble barring my slurry and added rain water to it to spread it out and cover more ground. Even have ad blue in d tractor. Got solor panels put up. Ive planted nearly a kilometre of new hedgerow to divide fields. I think each farmer should be evaluated on the new measures his taken and then be giving a plan to work with for the environment. We all love our land and want to help and farm it the best way possible with nature.
He is right. Agriculture is carrying the burden of change. The fossil fuel industry is playing a blinder by funding the enviro fundamentalists to destroy agri. Enviromental change should be carried by all fairly. I woulf support a new party.
Not a hope farming population now is too low They did it in the 30s with clann na talmhnan when we had 4 times the number of farmers and it didn't work.
He is old. He has a skewed view of the world. He wants to preserve the status-quo. He has no grasp whatsoever of the gravity the the problem humans are trying to sort out. The “I’m a realist” is the best line ever. Only ever used by people trying to put themselves above all others. He looks like someone who does most of his thinking and talking with a glass in his hand. He is only there to cause trouble. No ramifications for his actions. The Dutch have been the most successfully food producers in the World for a long long time. I not suggesting for a second that they are looking after their land. They do however have a great phrase, that very well sums up the problem caused by synthetic agriculture and that is, fertiliser feeds the Father not the Son.
@@ciaranconeely8579 no actually, a farmer myself. Fitzmaurice is anti-progress and anti farmer, always pitting one sector against another. Hates dairy men, hates east of Ireland tillage. He wants to keep us in the bog because that's where he's happiest himself.
Oh but yes there is. A fine patriotic Irishman standing his ground and protecting his way of life. That doesn't inspire you? What does? Transgender boys I'd say.. Go wan
Who is advocating flooding? Is that the same as raisng the water table? Wait until you see, there will be an option for a carbon payment for re-wetting and plenty of lads will jump at the cash. The carbon sequestration value will be in the region of 600 to 800 per hectare and you will still be able to farm it, but at a bit lower stocking rate. Much better than the losses made keeping big Charolais cows on wet land like being done at present. Michael argued against the paid voluntary suckler cull but in truth thousands of lads would have taken it. Man of the people? Don't think so. He is scaremongering for his own votes, simple as.
I wish this man was a TD in my voting area
It's time for Irish farmers in Ireland to wake up and put the brakes on the government qnd eu
Michael Fitzmaurice is head and shoulders the best td in the country, I genuinely wish he was in my constituency
Spot on mick
Well done Michael

Form the party Michael, you'll get plenty of votes, everyone is sick of FF/FG and don't even mention them green yokes.
He is right. Agriculture is carrying the burden of change. The fossil fuel industry is playing a blinder by funding the enviro fundamentalists to destroy agri. Enviromental change should be carried by all fairly. I woulf support a new party.
Lots of common sense.
And then as a reaction an urban party, which will have a lot more voters. Cop on.

A reasoned comment!
If this is the voice of rural Ireland we are well and truly fucxked. No ideas except pulling and dragging in the bog with an old Hitachi.

Pippa's Peasant on a fake account.

It’s not just the farmers how many houses will be flooded out when they wet these lands
