7:24 That pause plugin halts cpu usage on the process but the process is still in ram. That's why you weren't able to launch Witcher 3 too because your ram usage was already 12G at that point. It's not a plugin limit.
I use Pause Game for the "Before Suspend" option. Some games don't like it when your computer goes to sleep while it's running, but by just flicking that option on it'll do that pause on any game when you tap the power button to put the Steam Deck to sleep, and when you power it back on it'll resume, allowing you to do pick-up-put-down play sessions of a game without any issues arising over the course of... well sometimes days. I've left Borderlands 2 running on my deck, for DAYS, because I can just put the whole thing to sleep and pick up right where I left off.
Just a nitpicky note, the password is your user password which allows you to use sudo. Its not a password for sudo, just you can't use sudo without it. Sudo lets you run a command as another user, most often the master user root. Its created so you can run one off tasks when you need to without having to sit logged in as a user where you can make mistakes that would break things or allow scripts etc. to ruin your system.
looks like decky loader is broken on beta/preview channel right now since the laatest update. Can't get it to work again on either of my decks. Ive just seen its recognised as not injecting on the github since the Jan 11th update so hopefully theyll get it patched, they tend to move pretty fast. Hate when this happens though as i just cant live without the plugins now! Great video, sir :)
ProtonDB, doesn't identify how a game runs on the Steam Deck. It identifies how well a game runs in Proton or on Linux. A game can be platinum on PDB, and exceed the hardware capabilities of the Steam Deck, I would think The Callisto Protocol, is a perfect example.

I don’t see most of these plugins in the Decky store. Is there a list of their urls for manual installing? Edit: Yeah, I only see like 5 plugins in the store. Something is definitely off. I’m on stable SteamOS and stable Decky loader build
You can't pause however games you want because you have limited ram and vram. You probably can pause allot of pixel graphic games that don't take up too much resources.
Hey my decky loader doesn’t pop up anymore after I refresh my SteamDeck .. my steam goes blanks and tells me “There has been a problem, Refresh Page.” As I do it and it’s complete my decky loader plug in doesn’t pop up.

What in the reverse engineering kind of backwards video is this?! Starting of with saying "all can be done in Game mode" and then at 8:20, where the start of the actual how to is, the first thing in the how to is _GO TO DESKTOP MODE_ ..?!
not very helpful so far, please explain how to open the decky loader, and it wasn't easy to find it because you didn't explain that step, i'm new to linux so i have no idea what to do here, and how do you get this free games app on the deck? again you haven't explained 🤷♀

You may be looking at the Testing store. Make sure you have your Store Channel set to Default in the decky settings to see the normal plugin store.

No, they aren't active all the time for one, and two i've not noticed any extra drain
Good news everyone, 4 hours after this video came out Valve just released a beta client and decky loader no longer works.

Are you on the Steam Beta/Preview channel? If so the last update broke decky, they should have a decky update soon but you will need to reinstall it

just got the same problem. I decided to switch back to the stable version. And yes, it worked, plugins reappeared in the quick access menu.
