Yes it has neck dive I play sitting mostly so not a big deal for me Pickups are weak..I play mostly clean Selector Switch crapped out after a year . Service from d angelico was ez replacing switch.. Binding developed small crack at fret 12..that doesn't makes me crazy.. 2 year owner Intermediate player
Recently bought a Premier Bedford SH and I absolutely love it. To my ears, it's like the perfect strat without sounding like cliché strat, if you know what I mean. The tones out of each pickup and combination are unique enough to stand out from the strat crowd without losing all of that strat charm. Neck is flat and wide, which works well for me. And semi-hollow body gives nice extra resonance and sustain. Really inspiring to play - can't put it down.
Great video. Totally agree with you about the black flake, however, love the natural mahogany back on the sky blue. Are you likely to do a review of the delux range?I have a atlantic delux in sunburst on order. Would be great to hear your thoughts on that one.
Thanks for the comment my friend! So my current video on the Deluxe Atlantic is outdated, as they've changed that model quite a bit since that first batch of Deluxe Atlantics. However the latest Deluxe Atlantics are very similar to the Limited Edition Deluxe Atlantics (here's my review: ruclips.net/video/ILCoEZj5ypg/видео.html) If you compare the specs of the new Deluxe Atlantic and the Deluxe Atlantic LE, you'll see how similar they are.
I just purchased and received my first D'angelico. I can't find a single flaw. So much better than anything I've ever owned in my lifetime of playing. I've been playing for over 40 years. Everything on this guitar screams quality. Set up was spot on. No fret buzz. I'm just blown away.
Oops almost thought u were from Toronto 🤔 great work brother 👏 your definitely good all around 👍your probably a producer also. Most definitely with all the knowledge of gear but above all ur real, authentic feel for the music itself ✌
So I grabbed a Premier Bedford SH last week. It's nice as hell for sure but I'm thinking I'm gonna change the pickups, the stock ones are just a bit... lacking
It seems that a few of the cheaper D'angelicos come with pau ferro fretboards. Fender's Mexican range now comes with pau ferro fretboards and the wood looks a bit cheap and streaky, and feels like laminated cardboard. I've heard this is a "Fender" thing rather than a "pau ferro" thing, and that pau ferro can be used well. Do these D'angelico guitars do it justice?
The short answer is, yes, I do think D'Angelico guitars use pau ferro fretboard well. They're a nice quality have have a nice tone and sustain. I have pau ferro fretboards on my Fender Bass and my D'Angelico Deluxe Atlantic, so here's what I think... The look is definitely better on the D'Angelico. The Fender's pau ferro fretboard definitely looks a little "lackluster" in the quality department, looks like an unfinished piece of wood which may or mayn't hold up over time. That said, both of these fretboards play perfectly well and sound great. I've had my fender bass for a little over a month, and every time I post a clip playing it, I get comments and messages about how good the tone is, so there's that. The D'Angelico on the other hand, well, I don't think quality was ever a concern. They're doing a great job to make great instruments and getting their hands on the best quality materials they can find.
Ludlow so unique cool would love it. I have 2 D'Angelico DC Premiere Boardwalk, HH, p90 just terrific. Want a solid next .Thanks for great demo review.
How is the feel of it? Does it feel more like a gibson or like a standard strat when it comes to the weight and the overall feel of it? I am thinking about purchasing this guitar but I am not a fan of gibson type guitars
Hi tks for the extensive review. Can I tell if there are substantial difference in sound between the mahogany and basswod model for the brigthon other than the weight and color ? I ll be interested to know cause it's almost impossible to try these guitar where I leave. I ll have to order it blindfolded.
Hey Patrick, I just picked up the Oxford red, to me it looks like a lite redish orange. Did you say that that color doesn't come with the trem system, because mine has? I getting ready to plug it in my dsl20 Marshall. Hope it sounds great, it looks awesome.
@@juscallmej Hey man, your right. I have the color that isn't the limited edition. I really liked the looks and the tone, but the neck was too narrow for me, unfortunately. I did a a-b test with it against my PRS, and the PRS won. But it is an excellent guitar, my hands are just I little to big for it. But I would recommend it, if it feels right to you.
Short Answer: Both are great instruments. You can't go wrong with either. Buy the one that makes sense for your budget. Long answer: The value of the Premier is pretty tough to beat. I think if you played both (which you definitely should!) you'd be surprised at how well the Premier "keeps up" with the Deluxe. Most consumers will likely say that the Deluxe isn't worth spending double the money on... not because the deluxe isn't worth it, but because the Premier is just that good. The two new finishes they just put out are crazy good. I'm having a hard time not snagging one of those Fiesta Red Premiers. The Deluxe benefits from nicer pickups and tone wood, for sure. You just have to ask yourself if it makes sense to spend the extra money for those features.
@@PatrickBreenMusic even a better deal a year later, as musicians friend has the Bedford sh open box & scratch and dents for around $350. Glad i held off on buying this guitar for $800 a year ago.
So I want to begin to learn guitar and I love the sound of those, but ofc I won't pay 800 for a guitar I might not use after a month. So what should I buy when I enjoy the sound of those, but don't want to buy 800?

It's a good one, for sureeeee!
A tip : watch movies on Flixzone. I've been using them for watching a lot of movies during the lockdown.
@Keanu Jack yup, I've been using Flixzone for since november myself =)

Hey! What about Brighton's balance? Wondering, if the neck pulls down due to lighter basswood body.
Had the Deluxe Brighton Ltd. which was neck heavy with massive dive. I would go for the Atlantic, maybe the mahagony model, better neck balance
How was the setup? stay in tune?
most guitars stay in tune it has to be a REALLY SHITTY guitar to go out
