I cant unsee the shiny magnemite at 13:47 😂 right after he enters Chargestone Cavern. "Magnemite, that's pretty standard." RIP shiny magnemite. 😂 Also if you battle all the trainers then talk to the counselor ladies in each area you'll get around 3,000 bp total as a reward.

I noticed the younger players say the food sounds tasty. And the older players suddenly go into parent mode telling Drayton to chew his food. That was adorable to notice

I know you are using diplin so you already have a grass type, but I'd recommend using ogerpon. It will trigger custom dialog with carmine and kieran

Fun Fact: The reason why Drayton's trial is in the artic biome is because it's a reference to how in Black and White 2, Opelucid city (the city with the Dragon type gym) was completely frozen by Team Plasma
This gen definitely has the best writing. All that about BBL champion and BBQs are just the cherry on top

I love the Terrarium in this dlc. I like that its so open world but closed in if that makes sense

For this challenge you can't use pokemon you got in terra raids either, but once you beat the three trainers you can use whatever pokemon you want against Drayton.
They can all be swept with a Golurk and Eelektross, that's what I did lol
Catch the open wild tera mons, they tend to have better stats

I love how drayton's comment bout the vault of beefy pokemon is basically a cheeky jab from gamefreak to the players

Zebstrika now has a 100 power Physical electric move (it has a couple downsides tho) called Supercell Slam, High Horsepower, and Trailblaze
Those downsides, for people who don't know, are 95% Accuracy and crash damage should the move miss.
Still, this move is better than Wild Charge due to not only having higher power, but also it has only "5% chance" to cause "recoil" instead of 100% chance; that "recoil" is much bigger, yes, but the chances are pretty low, so you can risk it
The recoil/crash damage is half your max hp
Very fun new move, immediately taught it to my iron thorns

@@bfeldz1023 No. It has 95% chance to hit, and should it miss (or the target uses Protect-like move), user takes crash damage equal to half of its' max HP.

If Archaludon's ridiculous BST wasn't enticing enough, it also gets access to Stamina. So you can get funny with Body Press shenanigans even with Assault Vest

Nope, it's only more like evolving Girafarig into Farigiraf where you just teach their signature moves instead of using the move a number of times in battle

Hey Mikey, as a heads up in case you haven’t tried it yet, pokemon caught in the Tera raids are also excluded from the trial (I.E. your Rhyperior and Metang). I tried this trial with an Electivire and Kingdra that I caught in raids and wasn’t able to proceed until I swapped them out.
Yea I wanted to use porygon Z I got in a Tera raid and it just didn’t let me proceed with the battle until I removed it from my party
I learned that the hard way when I tried putting a Kingdra that I got from one on my team, lol! I was confused at first.
Did the same wanted to use my Tera Raid Duralodon but couldn't. Thankfully my Escadrill/Toucannon combo worked perfect for two out of three.
Eggs hatched in the terrarium also don't count! Learned the hard way 😔

The terarium only requirement for the trial was an interesting twist.

I used Archaludon on my playthrough. She helped out a lot! I caught her as a Fighting Terastal Duraludon. I taught her Body Press. Gave her the Assault Vest too.
I managed to hunt two shinies. They were both females, and I was looking for a male, but I didn't want to waste any more time. So now I have a shiny level 100 Archaludon and she is amazing. I'm going to trade the other one on GTS.
Use the ogrepon when you battle keiran. He does extra dialog.
Krackhead kieran is absolutely amazing and I'm here for it
Archteladon is the humongous threat now and I love him
important note about the Dragon trial challenge. pokemon caught in the raid battle don't count...
(not sure if its a bug, but I had a raid lapras and I couldn't fight with it on the team)

I love how aggressively Mikey leans back when he finds something particularly funny
Reuniclus getting rid of its own spore immunity, and a ton of other funny moments...just loving this playthrough.
Mild Spoiler:
Cheat cheat for the first Kieran fight: have a storm drain pokemon on the field from the start. Let his frog live and let him spam his weather ball. You'll be plus 6 special attack in no time.
Dreyton is painful to fight. Enjoy (also, yes you may use outside pokemon in the actual fight with him, like Dipplin and Infernape)
I felt so bad just waiting for your realization when I saw you prepping your team for Drayton, thinking, "Oh no... he's gonna have to go catch new mons after he's spent time putting a team together from his box." Oh well, you'll be able to use them against the other 3 Elite 4 battles.
You only have to use a different team against the 3 trainers. If you change your team inbetween you CAN battle him with the old team

I love this DLC!
Fun fact: if bring ogerpon to the battle with carmine and also the one with Kieran they will have special dialogue the first time she enters the battle either by the first pokemon you sent or when you switch her in.
If you’re really wanting to find a shiny in one of these story playthroughs, just take your time wandering. I literally found three of them without even trying.
I love Vulpix and was devastated to realize that Violet is effectively the "Moon" version for the DLC. Makes sense, given the matching purple colour schemes... oh well, at least I get Lunala!

IMO no. It is very cute but the cutest Bug type to me is Ribombee.

Man, Drayton was a fun character with a sick battle. I like dragon types a lot and did a Dragon v Dragon battle, and I won with 4 down. Beat Lacey with my dragons too with only my shiny Kommo-o named Kami left. Also NO, You can use any team members you want against Drayton.

Just finished the main story last night. I used the following team:
- Zenitsu (Zebstrika)
- Bifröst (Archaludon)
- LeadPaint#40 (Alolan Muk)
- SteamPunkSam (Flygon)
- Dexter (Reuniclus)
- Virgil (Hisuian Typhlosion)
I gotta say, using Tera Fighting Archaludon with its Stamina ability is incredible. Investing in Defense and HP makes him a tank, which you can then destroy teams with Body Press after only taking a few hits. Plus holding Leftovers makes him even bigger wall.
I just spammed ogrepon and goldengho into every battle and swept through everyone. Then i found a shiny duraludon and evolved it and now he is my main mon. His shiny is absolutely amazing

Not a spoiler, just something to tell you about Inkay's evolution.
According to what I read online, in order to evolve Inkay, you have to hold the Switch upside down before you use Exp. Candies or Rare Candies to level it up.
I don't know why that's a thing, but it is now.

When he said “I’m not sure electro shot is a great move” about archaludon, I find it funny how electro shot is used on basically every archaludon set in vgc particularly when paired with the rain or power herb 😂
I seriously wasn't expecting Archaludon's BST of 600! I'm so happy I decided to train one. I managed to hunt two shiny female Duraludon and one of them is now the newest member of my team. She was a massive part of my playthrough, because she was the only new Pokémon I used.

It may just be the lighting and the fact that I'm watching on a smaller screen, but I'm pretty sure the Magnemite Mikey passed at 13:48 to encounter the Excadrill was shiny. I could be wrong though...
I really love the videos on this channel. It really reminds me of just watching a friend going through the new dlc
I wish I knew ahead of time what Drayton's challenge would be and the specifics because I spent a lot of resources expecting it to be a challenge and it was so easy

You probably been told this already, but you could use your regular party to take Drayton down.
The League Club fights against the three Trainers he prepares for you are decently easy.
Drayton is like a reverse Raihan, Drayton is just too lazy to be the Champion,while Raihan could have been, if Leon wasn't the man to beat.
It took me three tries across two teams to beat Drayton (the first one doesn't count because I wasn't taking it as seriously as I needed to). When I finally won, I only used half my team - Alolan Ninetales with Freeze Dry and the usual suspects, Close Combat Fake Out Intimidate Eject Pack 360 No Scope Hitmontop, and a Comfey.
Kieran now is Eren😂
First Pokémon used chuggey in the main game, now they use fire as a verb, what’s next Carmine saying “gyatt to the player? I kinda hope so, that would be funny

Found 2 shiny Minior this morning. Managed to catch both in quick balls, but made sure to have a Damp pokemon out. Highly suggest you have one two if you plan on shiny hunting

About the whole shiny thing before beating the game, my luck with shinies is very weird. For some reason, every shiny I find by the rules of the universe MUST be by complete random chance somehow, because if I try to actively shiny hunt I find nothing but just randomly a shiny will appear out of nowhere when I’m just casually playing instead. One of my team members for this game (Sir Radiance the Shiny Corviknight) literally just appeared like 10 seconds after I walked out of Mezagoza’s doors for the first time at the start of my journey, for example.
Also a fun fact about Sir Radiance, another of my team members is a Tinkaton named Noir and so I forced the 2 of them to get along with each other despite the whole biological “Tinkatons hate Corviknights” thing. And now they are canonically in love with each other.
