Dollar-cost-averaging is the best overall way to purchase Silver and/or Gold. The longer you hold either metal, the more any premium you pay will shrink into obscurity, to the point that it won't even matter.
The fun part of buying Mercs, Walkers, Washington and Standing, even Barbers is that when you buy a bunch of bullion you will see that you can get a whole lot of different dates, which is the beginning of a collection bought for bullion prices. You can then fill in the blanks where you need. I ended up with nearly complete collections of Mercs and Walkers and a big bunch of early Washingtons too by just buying bullion. Lots of fun for a coin collector. I would never by Anything from a pawn shop.
@@Mindyourventure Started collecting as a kid in 1960. Really could not afford half dollars as a half was a lot of money. I could buy a small hot dog and a mission orange soda for 25 cents at the beach. Nice to be able to collect some silver in my old age. I go in and out of adding to the sets as the urge strikes. Now with all the silver coins being worth more than face they will always have some value, which may go up just due to silver content. My only fear is that silver will climb enough to make selling attractive enough that many of the neat old silver coins will get melted down. Sad to think that 270 million dollars got melted.
It is very sad, just watched a video from a coin shop that said if they didn’t sell off the large amount of junk silver they have, they were sending it to get melted down.

I think that's a good price. The first half dozen or so Franklin's I bought I overpaid, somewhere around 25-25.5 x but then again spot was over 33 at the time. In the last 2 weeks I found a local coin shop who also has a booth set up in a local antique store and he hasn't gotten around to updating his prices at the antique store lately. He has a bunch of walkers and Franklin's in groups of three in 2x2s. I pretty much cleaned him out of the 33 dollar Franklins, even found a couple at 30 and now I'm thinking going back on Friday which is my payday and grabbing all of his walkers at 33.
