@@cpmhunters9068 You are right. There was a We Are The World 2. BUT, they sang the original song. The artists did not come together all at the same time in the same studio to record in 1 night. Everyone did their own thing & it was pasted together. All the people with their shades on I thought was not cool. And, I LOVE LOVE Cool J! But I think the rapping at the end was horrible! Although Wyclef's screaming/singing was way worse!!! Those artists did not come together with love in their hearts. And We Are The World 2 did not bring In the money the original did.

I think that the biggest arguments about just how spectacular each of the artists singing was is this:
    • The artists singing have a total of 100 GRAMMY AWARDS between them
    • These same artists have sold over 1 BILLION albums

I came back here to say: it is upsetting, insulting and offensive you are laughing during this video!! There were SOOO MANY GREAT ARTISTS that participated in this project. Just because you don't know all of these artists doesn't mean they aren't great! There were 46 artists to be exact! FORTY SIX RECORDING ARTISTS!!!!!! EVERY SINGLE artist was already famous, had their own careers and their own NUMBER ONE HITS!!!!! Michael Jackson & Lionel Richie wrote this song together THE NIGHT BEFORE it was recorded. AND ALL OF THESE LEGENDARY STARS flew into LA to Kenny Rogers personal recording studio on the same day -were given their parts, practiced their parts then recorded TOGETHER IN ONE NIGHT!!!!!!!!! NO AUTOTUNE, NO voice enhancers, NO attitudes, NO stipulations and NO demands! AND NONE OF THESE ARTISTS GOT PAID for this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY DID THIS FOR FREE!!!!!! YES - FOR FREE!!!!!!!!!!!! ALL of the profits went to feed the needy in Africa minus 10% that was given to the homeless in America. Do yourself a favor: 1) Go to Wikipedia. 2) Read ALL of the details about this song about how many awards it won - how many charts it topped - how much money it made etc. 3) LOOK at ALL the STARS that participated. 4) Google every single star and listen to their hits and read ALL of their accomplishments - THEN after you have read ALL 46 stars accomplishments and learned about them and listened to their music - come back and watch this again! Quincy Jones hung a sign on the door that said Leave your egos here at the door. ALL of these LEGENDS came together out of the kindness & goodness of their heart, humble, to simply do something great to help those in need. That will NEVER happen again!!! This WAS A LEGENDARY and truly EPIC event/project that will never be topped!!

I don’t think anyone was “disgusted “ with one another. All of these people were solo artists. They are now performing a song “piece meal” if you will. They had to be intently aware of the person they were sharing the mic with. I’ve watched the documentary of this song being made. They were all very respectful. Quincy Jones got a little wound up once because it was difficult to work with that many big personalities at once.

I got you too, Boo! Starts off soloists in order of appearance: Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon (of Simon and Garfunkel), Kenny Rogers, James Ingram, Tina Turner, Billy Joel, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross (quick duet there between those two, Diana watched over Michael like a big sister), Dionne Warwick (Whitney Houston's aunt), Willie Nelson, Al Jarreau (famous for beginning beatboxing and his alcohol use during this particular session of music. He also broke out into The Banana Boat song in honor of Harry Bellafonte, who was in attendance in the choir beside Dan Aykroyd in the back row. Harry suggested the song to help starving people in Africa. The whole choir sang the song. You can find it on RUclips Easily. Also, in 2010 they did 'We Are The World Haiti' if you wanna check that out, also star-studded.) Back to the lineup, Then we have Bruce Springsteen singing the chorus, Kenny Loggins of Top Gun/Footloose soundtrack fame, Steve Perry (lead singer of Journey influenced STRONGLY by Sam Cooke), Daryl Hall of Hall & Oates, Michael again for the bridge, then Huey Lewis (Back the Future soundtrack), Cyndi Lauper (Girls Just Wanna Have Fun) and Kim Carnes (Bette Davis Eyes) -- after that, the choir, then serious fills by Bob Dylan, Ray Charles, a duet with Bruce Springsteen Stevie Wonder, and James Ingram takes us home. I did that from memory but others that were there that night were Waylon Jennings (He left over some ego bullshit), Bette Midler, Lindsay Buckingham, Quincy Jones directed the whole thing. It's amazing, they could only film it THAT NIGHT, which was the night that Lionel Richie ALSO hosted the American Music Awards and swept the damn thing winning I believe SIX awards that night...they all stayed up all night to record. Everything from lighting to crew was volunteer. They all ordered Roscoe's in the wee hours, chicken and waffles. At the end, when everyone had left, Diana Ross stayed and began crying. When Quincy's right hand man asked her what was wrong she said 'I don't want this to be over!' The note on the door for the artists when they arrived late, late at night after the AMA's read: Check Your Ego At The Door -- courtesy of Quincy Jones.

We Are The World topped music charts throughout the world and became the fastest-selling U.S. pop single in history. "We Are the World" was certified quadruple platinum, becoming the first single to be certified multi-platinum. Its awards include four Grammy Awards, one American Music Award, and a People's Choice Award. I’m guessing that the song probably did make the Top 100’s of several charts. I know I personally wore my first copy out from playing it over and over and had to buy another one. That was long before I saw the video. I knew most of them just from their voices alone. Kim Karnes’ Bette Davis Eyes and anything Stevie, Paul Simon, Ray, Kenny Rogers, MJ and… who am I kidding… just about all of them, we’re constants on my record player. We were still buying records in the 80’s even though we were transitioning to cassettes. I skipped over the 8-Track version of any music whenever possible. They were awful. I enjoyed your reaction. Also, without solos, Harry Belafonte in the background with Dan Ackroyd, Bette Midler, Smokey Robinson, The Pointer Sisters, the rest of the Jackson brothers and Latoya and lots more. What a treasure that is still reaching new generations thank to RUclips and technology in general.

Michael and Richie told everyone to check their attitudes and pride at the front door. So no Michael wasn't disgusted with anyone. Stevie wonder was asked to do a verse with Bruce. All was written by Mike and Richie

I remember the famine in Africa. There were thousands of children that died. Everytime I hear this song it brings tears to my eyes.
I remember most of these great artist that gave of their time and talent for a human cause. I know that Lionel Richie and Kenny Roger's are good friends. It was produced in Kenny's studio. Quincy Jones conducted and placed the artist together as he wanted.
I was disappointed and shocked at your reaction.
    But my opinion doesn't matter
