Great video Michael!!! I have to make sure my buddy will still sell me his Kemper, and then this pack is first on my list of things to get. Sounds Amazing!!!!
I don't have a Kemper, but if I did, this is would be the "go to" pack!!! I wish they made a Kemper for dummies unit, cheaper, only offer a few sounds, so you don't get analysis paralysis! Like I said, I could get this pack and be happy for a long, long time!
I don’t have any of the gear you enjoy there at your studio, but enjoy your playing. I think you should do some backing track jams for us. You play very well. 🤓👍
Hey Michael, question 🤔 l have fallen in love this year with adding a pure boost before the amp block. Seems to just push a good profile to “more better” territory. I do like the FUZZ in the Kemper.
Nice profiles and ..yeah .the Kemper is still a nice beast ...still one of my two favourite since 2013 ...with THU a good third one when I'm on the move (be it on Ipad or laptop). Yeeesss .... I'm gonna purchase these profiles :-)
Hehe I'm early today - only 1 view as I start this. Let's see :) - edit: Done :). Great video. Will consider these as well. So far happy with my BHP Soldano profiles. And yes: Please continue programming effects as well. It's very helpful to get another perspective there.
Am I the only one that rarely uses my bridge pup? I’m a neck pup user and a neck and bridge pup hb together user. I still like that sunburst strat you rarely use. I think it’s a Fender. Idk why but I really like when you play it even though I don’t use one. At least right now I don’t. You said the re not your favorite. not sure why.
Hey Micheal i still want to see that amps guts lol . Maybe have Dave runn though it to see if any valve or component is different from stock Marshall values..... Title it as " why does this marshall sound so damn good "
Can anyone tell me what make/model that blue strat is with the beautiful glossy fretboard. Sounds amazing. Would love to know what the pickups are in that.
Michael...great job on the 1971 pack. I will probably get it. I am on your website listening to a bunch of your profiles and one criticism is that you do not play more chords than you play single notes. Who cares about single notes when a guitarist is playing rhythm 95% of the time (words of wisdom from Jake E Lee himself...who I know you love) Michael Britt always plays chords and rhythms on his profile demos. So does Suz at ToneJunkies. Those are much more pleasing demos and really lets us know what we are buying. I hope you start playing a lot more chords so we can hear your genius better. One thing I DO like that you do is that you keep the playing short and sweet on each patch...and you go thru most of them which is great. Thanks.
@@BigHairyGuitars It put a smile on my face to read your response. it is so cool that you are capturing all those preamps from the era where you and I learned our chops. I listened to the H&K Access preamp pack and I found it to be kinda trebly. I owned that preamp and I really liked it. I ran it thru a Mesa 50/50 tube amp into a Marshall 1960's reissue 412. I did find that it was tough to get a loud clean sound out of it that was punchy. But the crunch tones were incredible. H&K is a great amp maker. I also had their Tube 50 head and it was awesome. I used it live a LOT. I used the midi card accessory in it and channel switched it with a midi footswitch. I am looking forward to using the 1971 Marshall pack. I might get the ADA pack as well. Keep up the great work and entertaining videos.
Hey Michael...i just heard some of the demo on the SLO100. Great playing on it. I heard the Warren profile and your playing on that is a great mix of chords and single notes...really nice...lets us hear what it sounds like in each context. I think I might get this pack as well. It is tough to find Soldano profiles or presets on stuff that I like...but i like what i hear on your pack. I think when you do a lead type profile, you tend to only play single notes. But I am sure a lot of players also use those profiles for high gain rhythms as well. I also noticed that you tend to play riffs from the artist or song you model the patch after. LOL.
Yeah. I’ve tried 5-6 different pickups in this guitar. (I wish I filmed that). Everything sounded really good, but the Lollar are perfect in this guitar. They’re my favorite pickups for classic/modern. Unless there’s something specific I’m looking for
I got a les paul w Lollar Imperials regular wind a couple years ago just to use w Michael’s kemper profiles and it sounds really good. Thx for adding effects into profiles Michael!
Great video as always. Still waiting on your response on where to obtain your new Rockman XPR Kemper Pack. Tried to get it dfrom the two-notes link but the only offering was a multi pack for $59. Could you make it available on your BHP site?
@@BigHairyGuitars Okay great!! Thought I was doing something wrong. Thanks for the info and very much looking forward to your Rockman XPR pack. And I will then promote it on Kemper and other sites, because people love that sound!!
Depends on the kind of gig. But if I didn't know what the gig was, I'd probably take my Dirty Shirley Mini head, and maybe my blue Friedman T. or my '50 NoCaster, and a couple pedals. If it was an arena rock gig I would put a Be100, SLO100 and a Superlead into 3 cabs, and a Les Paul.
I wish you would have rolled off the volume on the guitar to see how some of the profiles clean up. That is one of the issues i have with a lot of Marshall type profiles, they don't clean up as well as the real thing. They will clean up, but you lose a lot of the tone, that chimey, warm, slightly broken up tone.
@@BigHairyGuitars I found it best to setup a KPA with a tone your looking for and save it, instead of rolling off the volume, you just change the profile... but i do tend to play with my guitars volume a lot when playing live, also running it through my Marshall FX return, and 4x12 cab, helps smooth out those sharp edges without changing the overall tone of the profile.
2007 Gibson Les Paul R8, Lollar Imperial Pickups. I added the Lollars before there were "low wind", or "high output", it was just "Imperials". So I'm guessing they're the standard ones.
Amped M Plexi is really good, THU Overloud with the Choptones 1987x or J71 rig libraries. This BHS would be the best rig library in THU. Softube is not bad but doesn't quit hit it for me especially for the price.

If you are using powered studio monitors, yes. It’s a great solution for home jamming. I would suggest getting a very minimal mixer so that you can protect against accidental massive volume spikes with the Kemper volume knob
@@BigHairyGuitars Awesome, thanks. It seems like a great tool to be able to have a plethora of amp tones at my fingertips when jamming or writing. Do you have a mixer that you would recommend? I've never tried anything non-amp before

Hi Micheal, these sounds you are getting are really super! Thank you!
I have a 1971 Superlead. Sounds a lot like this amp. Great video Michael!
