Bonus tip - you can use defense as offense! In Sparking Zero, you don't just wanna run straight into your opponent and mash buttons. The AI will eat you alive as will any solid player. But what you can do is bait your opponents by making it look like you're coming in for an attack, and then just holding guard for Sonic Sway or even using Perception to bait an easy counter. You can even stop midway through your combo starters, move around a bit, and keep trying to bait that counter. Baiting Sonic Sways is great because it helps mix up your attacks but also reduces the opponent's ki of course.
This game definitely made me think more about defense coming off the back of Xenoverse 2 where I could just mash and use vanishes if things got hot. Another tip I found for AI is that using vertical launches (where you kick them up) leaves them wide open if you want to secure a blast (especially in sparking mode i could pretty consistently hit my blasts this way) or need a breather to charge ki as long as you dont attack them while they're falling. Sometimes offense is the best defense!
Felt like a Eureka moment when you said you can hold block and still do that haha. Like "WHY DIDN'T I Think of that...." thank you so much, time to head to the other guide, after ofc i SUB.
video was very helpful because im very poor on defense but i dont play on controller and play on pc instead so when you do "Up and Square" for a super counter the "Square" is just being the normal punch right?
This is just a general tip but you should definitely invest in a controller. 99% of PC players use a controller (as do I) because these games are designed for them and are much more intuitive to play on a controller vs on a keyboard
I found it easier to avoid beams attacks by just using x+r2 button dash to the behind of your enemy, you can either attack or grab them afterwards. Uses about 1 bar of ki, best used around mid ranged.
Yeah dashing from beams is definitely the more sound play most of the time, but you don't win as many ice cold coolness points haha. Using perception to deflect a blast also makes you get a ki charge buff.
can super counters be countered with anything such as revenge counters or another super counter? It seems to be the one input my buddy has bothered mastering and he is cooking my ass with it.
iirc you can super counter or z-counter a super counter. z-counter(press r1 before getting hit) is way easier. you can revenge counter the super counter but only after you get hit, and it costs 2 skill points. worth it if it'll surprise them and if you *really* need to avoid the followup at all costs but generally don't those skill points are better used elsewhere.
Took me way too long to realize you can't hold up for super counters, but I'm still not entirely sure how it works. Does it need to be a certain amount of input on the stick? In general, it's an awkward input combo. I've found it a lot easier to start out by not even starting to mash it on every attack either. It's way easier to pay attention to the rythm of enemy combos and treat it like a countdown of sorts, where I'll only attempt to counter on certain hits of the combo, which means I eat some damage, but I can pull it off quite consistently after practicing only a little.
Same thing happened to me then I went into the training mode and let the computer wail on me for an hour while I solely focused on defense and it helped me out a ton.
@@Brubrukk I was trying training mode to let the computer hit me while I hold circle and press r1 but lord they just heavy hit me like crazy when it’s unable for me to even like try to practice. You can just hit triangle + circle a couple times (once after every hit). But if I'm not mistaken, the "proper' way of doing it is circle the first hit, triangle + circle the second hit. You can definitely teleport more times behind them than that, if you have enough ki. What I did in the video is just for some flashy fun, but it doesn't do much damage.

Yeah i have no clue why people start the matches and run straight at you kills all the fun of a real dbz battle i think we should start an etiquette as the player base of letting each other charge ki at the start of the match way more fun to start a match with a full bar rather than people just rushing and acting like this is a ufc game we have ki supers and attacks whats the point of just using basic combos ? Super boring we should let each other charger starting out like back in dark souls where we used to drink all the estus and let each other buff to setup a clean no cheating match i think fighting games need more player etiquette rather than everyone being so fixed on win / lose We all wanna have fun and see cool stuff thats why were all playing
Since he gives no useful tips for super counters on the video, here is one, use square + x when the enemy is about to backshot you to counter, also needs to be timed but much less than super counter, its like a wild sense thats cost a bit of ki instesd of ability points… also if the enemy bursts to you to start backshot, activate guard when the camera flips and the character will rotate to defense from the backshot and then you can grab. This teo things are useful to cut backshots before they start, if you are alredy being backshot i recommend to smash super counter or try to time it, but in online with lag is almost imposible to do it by skill, but there is one tip when smashing super counter, try to follow the attacks “rythm” of the enemy and make sure to press up + square at once every time, not just random smashing, follow a rythm and never mess the coordination
Talking about backshots in a fighting game isn't putting down anyone's sexuality, the joke is that it's absurd to be calling hits from behind something sexual. Also, the term backshot doesn't just refer to gay sex.

Using perception to deflect beams actually gives you a major buff to Ki charge speed too!
That's rad! Great spot.

I'm not sure what the threshold is for how far up the stick should be but your best bet is to send it all the way up.
Also you gotta flick precisely up + attack button not hold
i find it hard to time everything. it happens to much at a time to react correctly but nice video bro
Lots of it depends on lag as well

You can go to opponent settings in training and have them wail on you in different ways, you can set them to just rush attacks for example.

how do you counter when ui goku throws you away and then uses ultra barrage
What's the up+x he's talking about here?..is it D-pad up + X?
no flicking your analog stick up n X on xbox or Square if you’re on playstation
it’s a tight window and they have to be simultaneous
movement stick up (left i believe)
@@CigArio thanks yeah I practiced a bit in training mode...I get it sometimes while mashing but it's hard to time to perfectly.
Analog stick (left by default) up, both that up and the button you're pressing at the same time.
Which cpu attack string should we use to practice super counter
It should be listed in the video, I think high speed attack if my memory is right.
Im still going to backshot my opponents i do it every game its guaranteed to happen atleast 2-3 times Backshot is the most efficient way to win
