One of the biggest stadium rock bands of all time. They are one of just a few of the hair metal bands that survived the 80s and managed to stay successful. Just great rock by one of the most charismatic lead singers to ever do it!
Stadium Rock? Don't recall them ever having a stadium tour?... They've played stadiums... with other headliners. Other bands... festivals... maybe the music was played at a stadium event... but I personally don't recall them ever being a Stadium Rock Band. They tried though.
Bon Jovi is an American rock band formed in 1983. They had a lot of great songs such as "Livin' On A Prayer", "Bad Medicine", "I'll Be There For You, "Always", "Someday I'll Be Saturday Night", "It's My Life", "Who Says You Can't Go Home", "Born To Be My Baby", "Lay Your Hands On Me", "Bed Of Roses" "Something For The Pain", "Lie To Me", "These Days" & many more.
When I was a teen in highschool, everyone had the album "slippery when wet", you couldn't go anywhere without hearing one of the many great singles playing, great stuff!
My cousin loved Bon Jovi so much that's all we heard when she was around back then. Caused me to turn them off a lot back then but I have recovered now and can listen to them. Lol. Love you guys ❤️
This was written about his relationship with Diane Lane, she is an actress. The relationship didn’t last long, he said this isn’t the life for me. He went back home to NJ and started seeing his high school sweetheart Dorothea and they have been happily married since 1989. Lead singer is Jon Bon Jovi on of the biggest groups of the 80’s
They were my first concert, Drove an hour to see them and was so excited to see them I left my car headlights on and came out of the concert with with a dead battery lol I was sixteen! Had to call the parents to come get us and the car towed. No cell phones back then either. It was a great night 🎶
Always react to them with live performances. You can’t beat Jon at a concert. He is so charismatic, coming and going. LOL. They put on a great show, so many hits they can’t sing them all in one concert. Touring this year.
And the concert footage of this song is great. They look like they're thoroughly having so much fun. You should watch it, even if you don't react to it.
@@csblame Really? Do you sound the way you did in the 1980s? Either you’re a fan or you’re not. There’s no decade limits. I’m the same age as Jon, from the same area in NJ and Italian. If you have nothing nice to say, keep it to yourself.
@@Mainecoonlady. Chill out! I did not knock him. People age and musicians often abuse their voice. Jon abused his voice! That’s not being mean. That’s being real! If people are new to Bon Jovi they need to see the magic that was the 90’s and before. Let’s face it. He can’t even sing most of the hits anymore. That’s fact!
This song takes me back to 1987.. I was 16 and blasting this as I was driving around... Yes, this was all over the radio then.. .and in Concert They sounded the same and it was freakin awesome! I saw them twice.. and both times are super memorable.
I remember seeing this, pre album release, when I lived in Germany at Monsters of Rock 1986. The concert had four main acts; Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Ozzy, and The Scorpions. Great show!
I could see how much ya'll loved this one right from the beginning. You could not sit still. I smiled the whole time watching that. Bon Jovi, Michael Jackson, Madonna and Prince dominated my childhood. This takes me back!
One of the best bands to ever pick up/ sit behind an instrument. Bon Jovi have that very rare staying power and have been rocking for decades. Their music has a timeless quality and they write their own songs. Some other songs of theirs to check out, Runaway - Die For You - Born To Be My Baby & Hey God 🤘
Thanks for the throwback! Slippery When Wet ( the album this song is on) was my first concert! I was 13 and remember it like it was yesterday! Awesome band!
First time hearing "You Give Love a Bad Name", well, you must have never been driving next to me and my friends...you would have heard it blaring from our car stereo. lol. There are some artists that really need the video and Bon Jovi is one of them...he's nice to look at. Richie Sambora never disappoints either.
Oh, no! You need to do the Official videos for their songs! I'd love to see you do "Wanted Dead Or Alive" & "Blaze of Glory" but hope that if & when you do, it's the Official videos. Adds SO much to it.💙☮
The lead singer is Jon Bon Jovi. you've heard "Living on a Prayer" which has a very similar sound - likely that's the familiarity you're feeling. The official music video is from an era when music videos were played on MTV - and an era that videos were good. This one makes the song even cooler cuz the video is super hype and fun.
This album was one of the first rock cassettes I was allowed to have. As a preachers kid my music was limited when it came to music I could listen to at home. I wore it out. But I’ve got it on my iPod and it gets regular play on my retro playlist
Blaze of Glory was written for young guns. And it was also a solo album. Wanted Dead Or Alive actually isn’t really about cowboys, it’s really about life on the road touring.
80’s….yeah ! Definitely a lot going on in the 80’s. Hits were dropping every week, it was crazy and beautiful to be a part of for sure. Saw a lot of concerts, did cover band for a lil bit, no technology- so you can’t cheat. That’s not easy and everyone was on tour so we heard it and saw it live. My ears hate me, but I’d do it all again, especially 1984. 🤘😎❤️
Bon Jovi was named for the lead singer, Jon Bongiovi and it's a play on his last name. Check out Blaze of Glory which is his one of his solo numbers written for the movie Young Guns 2. The man can act too. He had a small part in Young Guns 2, was on the tv show Ally McBeal starring Calista Flockhart, the movie U-571 with Matthew McConaughey, the movie Moonlight and Valentino starring Elizabeth Perkins, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kathleen Turner, and Whoopi Goldberg and several others. Got to see them back in '89 during their Jersey Syndicate Tour supporting their 4th album, New Jersey, when I was 19. Seems a lifetime ago, lol. I love that I share my birthday with him and Dr. Seuss, lol.
From Woodbridge, NJ,where Richie Sambora lived. Slept till 4 pm every day. We used to knock on his bedroom window to wake him up. Lol I dated Gary, lead singer, bass player for rival band in Justyn Tyme. He live around corner from Jon & we went to a party where all bands were. Probably 1982. Bon Jovi..Bongiovani) He disrespectfully asked me out. I called him an A-hole. I was obviously with Gary. I grew up in Woodbridge also.
Slippery When wet Album is their best album they ever done, IMHO. I would sit for hours just listening to this album until my cassette wore out, Then bought the cd of it, and wore out my CD player with it on repeat. Need to check out the ENTIRE album. There is no bad song from this album.
Bon jovi- basically popular Rock music he has longevity, voice not there as it used to be but he is an icon. back in the day of hair bands he eventually cut it. got a lot of radio play 4 sure.
There are so many amazing Bon Jovi songs, I don't even know where to start on suggesting reactions. How about EVERYTHING from Slippery When Wet and New Jersery albums? Throw on the song "Runaway"...then maybe everything on their greatest hits...and then, and then, and then, ifinity!

You can never NOT mention 'Wanted Dead or Alive' lol....slight oversight, I know lol. So many great tunes and memories ❤️❤️❤️❤️

i've always adored Diane Lane - had no idea this was written with her in mind.
I first had a crush on her from the movie SIX PACK with Kenny Rogers.

Go Pack Go 🧀🏈🙌
First tape I ever bought myself this one and living on a prayer where my favorite songs on it.
Played during breaks at many sporting events...maybe that's where you heard it....other than the radio!!! Kick ass concerts too!!!🤘🤘🤘🎶🎼🎵🥁🎸🎹🎧🎙🎤
Jon Bon Jovi is the lead singer. “Wanted Dead or Alive” from the same album is solid too.
Love it so much, y’all! Their very first number 1 song from “Slippery When Wet” in 1986. Singer is Jon Bon Jovi of Sayerville, NJ!
You have to watch Jon sing, it's a treat to watch him perform! Try live or original videos if you can with rockers like Bon Jovi!!

If it’s 90’s or before. Anything starting at the 2000’s with Crush tour you really start to hear the decline in his voice.
