    This is a superb explanation of what, for me, was the missing link to having an effective two hander. I felt I had been aimlessly fluttering with my two hander but when I employed this tip, I began to crush that ball with deep, penetrating, and accurate shots. And so simple too! Thanks for your clear and concise explanation of a key reason why many club players like myself have weak two handers!

    Very helpful. I heard about some "wrist flip" and was trying to do that, but it was very awkward and I had little control. This lesson straightened that mess out in a hurry.

    Thank you so much for this the only time you for a little more wrist is on a slower or a high bounces you are right about how to feel the turn from the ground. This is so impressive to hit solid with it has disguise also.

    Thank you for the lesson! I agree with the emphasis in following the trajectory of the ball as long as possible for accuracy. The question I have is... this type of follow through is called the "classic" method that has been the bread and butter since wood racquets were made (when I started). Isn't the bending of the elbows earlier and more top spin, different from this more flatter stroke, "modern" stroke, that can impart more topspin? I realize it slows down the ball.

    100% correct. What’s your opinion on left hand vs right hand dominance. I mess around with hitting mentally imagining the left doing most of the work, then with both hands doing the work together, then with left doing most but initiating the stroke from the back swing with a quick lat pull of the right lat and it slightly changes the mechanics of the stroke. I’d love to see some biomechanic body sensors on Djokovic to see exactly when he engages each muscle. What are your thoughts?

    They do move fist from below to above the other fist. we can watch pros slow mo in Chrome.
    For me Ostapenko has currently best backhend, incredible how she hammers the ball. all go in. and her arms are always bent.
    I guess somehow bent arm gives her the control with great power.

    I realize I’ve been flicking my wrist a lot. Would you recommend to keep the left wrist firm to prevent this?

    But for forehand there is wrist flip right?

  • @AnasKhan-sw9es
    @AnasKhan-sw9es 3 года назад

    it will be effected but i dont think on half court shots one can finish the ball with this technique. if you apply this on half court shots the ball will go out. i think on half court shot one should do the flick with the wrist

  • @buckyoung4578

    No offense. But, I have NEVER seen anyone teach "flipping your wrist at contact" with a two handed backhand. Just watch a video of Andre Agassi's two hander and you know that is a lie. Agassi (arguably the greatest two handed backhand of all time) finished his stroke on the same side as he impacted the ball. The rolling motion of the two hander is just a "finish" after powering the ball out and up with the top edge leading.
